This is the most insightful video on compressors I've seen Ever...

Wow, thank you so much! For weeks I have been watching explanation videos about comprression and never really heard a difference in the different possibilities of compression I was shown. For the first time I have heard the difference between the compressor types loud and clear. Very good examples and very well explained, thank you!

Amazing video very well done. haven't seen such a simple well made demonstration of the main different comp flavours side by side like that

I take issue with the fact that you're not gain matching the output of each different compressor. Although you are able to hear some differences in how each compressor is acting given the same ratio, attack and release, the output levels are very different so the inherent characteristic of each compressor is lost. Also there is no explanation on the differences of how each compressor operates.

I listened twice. No doubt, I definitely liked the sound of the SSL type compressor best. Really seems to bring the drums (especially the bass,) to live! I could also hear that Genesis/ Phil Collins sound for sure! Great job! I liked, I subscribed! 😊

Prepping the compressor settings to match gains , before recording all this would have been important. But I appreciate the video just the same. Thank you.

Maybe some people appreciate the process?
Nah, that can’t be it. After all you know better.

Dear Mr. I would like to ask you, what can I do today 2022 with an analog gate? an audio logic AL440, 4x4 in/out, what do you suggest? do i keep it? I'm selling it? I'm looking for new valid creative uses for pieces of hardware already disincorporated, in the style of alesis adat, or tascam da88, etc. thanks in advance

FET reminds me of the Beatles drums. Vari Mu reminds me of Nickelback's album The Long Road.

GAIN MATCHING BROTHER, WITHOUT THAT YOU CAN REALLY SEE WHAT THE COMPRESSOR IS ACTUALLY DOING TO THE SIGNAL. THERE IS NO POINT IN COMPARING THE COMPRESSED SIGNAL AND THE ORIGINAL IF THE COMPRESSED IS GOING TO SOUND MUCH LOUDER, THEY NEED TO HAVE THE SAME INPUT AND OUTPUT LEVEL, SO THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE CHARACTER OF THE COMPRESSOR, NOT JUST FEEL THE INCREASE IN VOLUME.

Mate after 2 min you are not even matching the peaks correctly, is DISTORTION part of the sound demostation? Useless video you are not sharing the sound of each you are just talking while playing with a plugin
