When looking back at Big Freeze, I realized that it's not Spike's movie, it's actually Ducky's. Think about it, she's the one who gets mad at Spike as we can assume that Spike's antics have finally taken their toll on her at this point, she's the one who might as well tells Spike to go away with the others Stegosaurs and regrets it afterwards, and she's the one who goes out to find him. Am I the only one who noticed that?

1:40 never underestimate the evil of locust! Me and my family moved to a new ranch and were planting all sorts of flowers and trees and grass and those...those...THOSE JUMPING FLYING WRETCHES ate so many of our new plants and undid so much work. The worst part is you can't even get at them because they move so fast. So I can relate to this movie even more than I already did as a kid.

And people bitched about JW Dominion saying that the Locusts were such a ridiculous element of the film.
Yet they very much represent the dangers of genetic power. Regular locusts are already a plague on humanity, imagine the kind of harm a swarm of genetically engineered ones could do.

Just gotta say with Pteranto's punishment in #7, it sounds light, being banished for 5 years... but then you consider the world outside the valley and how hostile it is. They're basically sending him into a warzone for 5 years saying 'good luck!' lol

Now that I think about it, Pterano, Sierra and Rinkus kind of remind me of Azula, Mai and Ty Lee from Avatar, in terms of both their personalities and color schemes.
Pterano and Azula are the leaders of their trios, they have red and gold color schemes and are manipulative and power hungry (though Pterano is MUCH less cruel and malicious); Sierra and Mai have darker, drabber colors and aloof and snarky personalities; and Rinkus and Ty Lee have pink colors and are the goofiest and seemingly more harmless members of the trios, though they’re smarter than they seem and eventually turn on their leader.
Also, I don’t think that Pterano got off too lightly with his banishment at the end of the movie. I liked that he ended up owning up to his mistakes, and he also saved the kids from the volcanic eruption.

Here's my theory as to what happened to Cera's mother, though I will admit that it took reading someone's fanfic to make me come to this. Pterano happened to Cera's mother. It's entirely possible that she was one of the herd members who believed Pterano and was unintentionally led into that raptor ambush. Obviously it's just a theory, but considering that Cera's father was a lot more hostile towards Pterano than the others, it does make sense, at least in my opinion.

    Hi Red Raptor!
This is the first time that I have dared to write to you. I really enjoyed watching you talk about the favorite animated movies of my childhood. I also watched with pleasure your "tier-list / review" of documentaries on prehistoric fauna (to improve my English). I know you posed a "terminus ante-quem" of all of the documentaries you could examine with the series "Walking with Dinosaurs", but I'd like to suggest you one a bit older. Probably you haven't heard about that since it's an Italian production of 1993, released before the outcoming of the first movie of Jurassic Park in America. The name of this miniseries is "Il Pianeta dei Dinosauri" (Planet Dinosaur in English), and it's made of 4 special episodes of a long-lasting TV program, called "Superquark". If you could get your hands on a version with subtitles (or if you could try to watch some of the episodes, here on yt), could you tell us something about it? Of course, due to its age the section about the "Outdated" would be large, but at its time one of the best dino-docs ever put on screen. It anticipated the solution used by BBC with Nigel Marven, almost ten years later; other than this, during the show, they always portrayed interviews with paleontologists and presentations of the fossil record among the other sections. I recommend it to you!
    My best Regards to you!

Wow, I was waiting for this next part. I'm going to revisit this series after this semester and I'm looking forward to rewatching this series. Which the entries you talk about this time, Secret of Saurus Rock is my favorite because of the introduction of Doc the Diplodocus, being my favorite dinosaur and being western inspired, I enjoyed it as a kid. Second, I loved the fight at the end with Grandpa Longneck and Doc vs the Rex and Allosaurus. Lastly, I love the message of the film by making Grandpa Longneck his own legend by Littlefoot and his friends. That's why Grandpa Longneck is my favorite character of the series, he shows sauropods are cool and as a character he's very compelling and enjoyable. As for the rest of these films, the Mysterious Island I forgot how good that film was, it's in my top five for sure. The Stone of Cold Fire, it's a good film for sure but this was about the time I was starting to lose interest in the series but it's still a good film. The Big Freeze I only saw for the first time a few years ago and it's honestly an ok film. Mr. Thicknose was cool as I'm a fan of Pachyrhinosaurus, and introducing the cold to the universe was really cool. Out of this batch, it's
    1.) Secret of Saurus Rock
    2.) The Mysterious Island
    3.) Stone of Cold Fire
    4.) The Big Freeze.
Can't wait for the next part, I'm excited for the Great Longneck Migration to be covered. Keep up your awesome content Red Raptor, stay safe and have a great day.

I just watched The Stone of Cold Fire yesterday on my VHS player! My favorite sequels have always been 6, 7, 3 in varying order depending on the day. My favorite song, besides If We Hold on Together, is The Legend of the Lone Dinosaur.
The theme of death in 7 really hit me for the first time yesterday; I always knew Terrano lost his herd, but when Ducky falls down the cliff into the cave, he talks about how he was responsible for her, and now has lost her. I never realized he thought she died, but I did notice the guilt.
Very important for Spike is the episode "Through the Eyes of a Spiketail." We get to see most of the episode literally through his eyes; The world's tinted purple, he can hear the tree stars sing, and the gang grunt most of their lines, he can only understand names and certain words. Also, the episode "the Forbidden Friendship," Tippy comes back and it's great to see them together again.
    And MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT:
I bet your least favorite is number 13. Just trust me on this one.
Edit: "Jurassic World: Dominion" really did steal its plot from "the Mysterious Island" not only with the locust, but also both being the first to introduce a Giganotosaurus into their respective series.

I feel like the reason some dinosaurs had different colors in Big Freeze is to show how their bodies are reacting to a colder climate or to show, that dinosaurs were cold blooded (as they probably thought at the time)

The Fifth entry was probably my favorite as a kid. There was so much going on and lots of cool ideas that we hadn’t seen up to that point:
    1: The locust swarm
    2: An actual shark
3: Chomper’s parents speaking with subtitles
4: A fight between three large carnivores
5: The herds show they can still handle themselves outside the great valley
There’s more, but you get the idea. The fifth entry is a standout for sure.

Now with 21 years old looking foward to graduate in biology, it hurts to see how unrealistic the portrayal of dinosaurs being these monsters that roared and killed and ate all the time was. I thought he mentioned his mother during nine and 10 and yeah, the t. Rex and Giganotosaurus fight was pretty good the plated sharptooth, a.k.a. The Giganotosaurus was a dirty fighter they Claude, chompers mother not to mention there was a couple of blood in it. In secret of saurs rock I remember I used to like it, but looking at it now it’s OK it’s not the best in land before times seven I think I used to not like it but now I do because Petrie‘s uncle is one of the best antagonists, and he’s more of an antihero but mostly antagonist until the very end of the story and then in land before Time eight I did not have it on VHS or DVD but I remember I used to watch it on Cartoon Network and getting it from blockbuster or Hollywood studios and it was OK but hey at least that the story was mostly about spike

Land Before Time fans don't talk about 13th movie unless it's to say how bad it is, but that's what you get when you split a team, one half working on that movie while the other half works on the TV series, one half did better so you know all the worst team members got on which part of the team.

The subject matter of the seventh film is severely underrated. It’s a very good way to show kids that some family members are just plain bad.
I mean, look how angry littlefoot’s grandpa got at the mere mention of Pterano. That’s the most flustered he’s ever been in the whole series and the guy who caused it wasn’t even there.

The mysterious island and stone cold fire may very well be the best of the sequels but they'll never dethrone the original. You lost me there, and I blame it on nostalgia

It's possible but rewatching them, there's a lot of new stuff for me to appreciate as an adult. Even the first movie, I really like now even though I didn't before. I think I'm being fair but I'm just as fallible as the next guy.

33:00 minute mark, your biggest mistake, saying the we autists are disadvantged, and our parents suffer, due to our personality, I'm old enough to understand what you were trying to say, and I'm in the lower side of the Spectrum, but even than that was wrong, saying that the parents are in a way victims, because their kids are autists, and so they (the kids) are at a disadvantage at all time for being who they are. You could have word it better.

I’m surprised you actually liked these sequels. Most of the ones I’ve known are terrible in my opinion.
