Mostly it is done in house by a seamer mechanic in the canning industry (FMCG) that is how I was trained it's so weird that the trade is not recognised by SAQA while it is so important trade in the canning industry. You can google it "seamer mechanic pay in South africa" entry level is about R29k pm while average pay is about R34k pm and the more experience guys can make about R375k pm is about R4,5 milion pa. You also have to have a RedSeal in fitting bt most companies prefer Fitter and Turners with experience in the FMCG working on seamer machines. Atleast 2-3 yrs. Not alot of people know about the trade but it's a good career and it pays well. And what I can tell you is people is going to eat and drink from cans until.....

I worked for a dealership for almost 5 years. I did my apprenticeship with that particular dealership.... Underpayment is so their style. I resigned and went straight to a government job and worked as an administrator. 😂
Incentive is usually not even that much. Even the basic isn't that much for some mechanics 😂. At that time you've made the company+R200 000 in that month alone. Never going back

Everybody knows on the Engineering industry.. There is a pay gap.. Based on racial profiling.. I know people who were older and had more experience.. They had apprenticeship and the "mentor".. Who is a senior Technician.. It turned out that the Apprentice was getting paid more than the Technician...needless to say the Technician was Black.. The apprentice was NOT black... The technician went to the office after he found out from the apprentice that was the case.. They rebuked him with, "his rent".. His cost of living.. As to give the impression, that the older black guy with more responsibilities at work and family outside of work.. They down played him.. Went to as far as to ask, what does he need that much money or more money for?...thats across board... The Recruiter will tell you the Money for the job is x amount.. But once you go to the interview...the price gets dropped.. From this R37 000 this guy is talking about to R25 000...what do you want us to think?
