Interesting. When my dad died, I went through 14 months of intense grief, crippling insomnia, overwhelming anxiety, and major depression. I had tried therapy with 6 different main providers for 9 months, went to psychiatrists, the psychiatric ward, tried 6 prescriptions, exercised, ordered and took supplements, did yoga asanas, and did mindfulness and seated meditation. None of those helped fixed my issues at all. The prescriptions actually left me worse off. I had some treatment-resistant depression, and the insomnia was intense. After those 9 months, I stopped all of that and pushed through the suicidal thoughts while continuing to look on my own online for something that could help. I was obsessive about it.
Thank God, I found yoga nidra from the video recommendations on the side panel of Jon Kabat-Zinn's body scan meditation, which was helping and had been recommended to me by someone on Reddit. Yoga nidra kept getting recommended, and I did the Satyananda, Amrit, Rama, and even the iRest ones. After 97+ hours of yoga nidra over 3 months, plus self-Enquiry, Kirtan Kriya, and Trataka, which I also found on my own online, my life has improved by several orders of magnitude and keeps getting better and better each day.

this is great video. i've been struggling to make decision to study therapy or coaching. and im heading towards health coaching for sure, and not to forget the continuous practice of all kinds of medicines. i liked the part that all that therapy work satisfies the mind but not the emotions. i feel those like us who have experienced depression and mental health get stuck on our mind and cycle of thoughts. we need to learn how to o[en our hearts and start feeling life again. much love

it's take, pain, learning, patience and pain again but it's worth it,... it's kind of beauty about it.

Amazing Conni. I feel your energy through the screen and I am on own personal journey to connect with my inner self and challenge the beliefs that I have found no longer serve me. Working the inner game is hard though. So much subconscious resistance.
