If I ever get another one of these, and there's a good chance I will, I would like to try for a chest gun upgrade. I know Forgeworld sells a kit for it, not that I would use that, but it's definitely a thing that this model can be equipped with, so someday there might be a receipt roll put into a Stompa surrounded by a massive amount of well-modeled cannons....someday
It's a shame cause it's the real good spark of ingenuity the original had, just a belly full of bristling guns for as much dakka as possible, if it had been done using a gallery of kannons, zzzaps and looted artillery from other races, maybe set up some scaffolding along the sides so numerous orks and grots can man them all, it would've been really unique and cool.
Yeah. This feels like borderline clickbait tbh. It's a great 'save', of the underlying model, but at the cost of that something special that made the original neon monstrosity so interesting in the first place.

I could never resist using the template's sprue-runners: Orks' aesthetics would be complimented by the addition of the stock-frame repurposed as toughened barbs and superficial reinforcement.
I'm honestly sorry you didn't find a way to use those ridiculous tubes in its final shape. It was horrible but unforgettable. Now it's cool but I won't remember it in ten minutes :/
Me too. I like the over the top guns it looks ugly, but it was creative, unlike the -1000% fier power version. The paint is good, but it just looks like a regular model
Awesome results. Perhaps the original builder had no budget for better assembly or had limited access to such materials. I like that you don't bash the original builder. Had I come across that model in the wild, I would have had a hard time coming up with genuine positive comments. Especially with younger hobbyists, let's all try to be kind with our comments on their work. Great job man!
Every kit is an Ork kit? I like that. It reminds me of a phrase my wife uses, "everything is a dildo if you're brave enough". That's a very Orkish philosophy.
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this to you or if you've tried it. But brake fluid and brake clean are relatively cheap and do a good job at stripping paint. Brake fluid can be washed completely away with water as it is hydroscopic as from what I've seen with cars does little to no damage to plastic (tho I would test it on a smaller part first)
I've found that it's much easier to strip paint from a model after spraying it with some oven cleaner. Softens the paint AND makes superglue more b4ittle and easier to chip away.
Tistaminis is my LGS in Hamilton, Ontario. Legendary store and staff, and they just got a sweet new location. These guys deserve a ton of love for helping me and tons of others getting back into the hobby! Awesome seeing these two “collab” on this video haha

Honestly, I was kinda hoping you'd find a way to keep some of the receipt rolls in the design to give it a stronger air of its "original" self since the model had such an air of majesty in how eyecatchingly janky it was. But overall it's a really nicely-done piece! The idea of the orks either building a Stompa around a crane or finding a way to pry it open and shove the crane inside because it had a really good pinchy bit is a fun environmental story, especially with the pearl-eyed grot peeking out through the back like he's proud of how they got it all to work.
Very great work! Though I will say that if the inner magnets were set slightly into the stompa: both so that them and the outer magnets were hidden when the arms and neck were attached yet also for increased stability/slightly less movement; I think the idea of having magnets wouldn't be so bad. An alternative method might be to have the upper torso just lift entirely off starting below the 'shoulders'; that way there's a little ridge covering the magnet(s) holding the upper torso onto the lower body. That way the size of the figurine can be reduced for transport, but it's still stable and looks good where it matters. The upper and lower portions could have slightly interlocking pieces, almost like a puzzle but more of a drop it down and it fits together type thing, stopping it from jiggling side to side to much when being moved around the battlefield. Although, a top section that can literally spin a full 365 degrees might also be pretty awesome enough to try it without the interlocking pieces. That's a lot of firing arc to dakka dakka.
This is my favourite video of yours yet. I live the idea of repurpising other models or 3d printing extras to add on. Brilliant video thank you so much for taking the time to share it with us all. Can't wait for more!
Dang it's really something to see the Ork army now expand given how I remember when this channel started, years ago, those little fly boyz where one of the first few things painted. Well done sir.
It's been a long time in the making for sure! And pretty much only worked on in Orktober, save for 4 or 5 minis. Crazy how time flies though, seems like only yesterday I was painting my first ork.
That "red clay" looks like Bondo brand spot putty to me.. and people often forget that it still needs hardener, you can't just use it right out of the tube. When you use it without hardener it'll somewhat dry out but it never actually gets hard/cures. The other stuff holding the magnets in looks like Gorilla Glue, the foaming type. You really need to get a hobby media blaster for stripping off stubborn paint. If you use baking soda (yes normal baking soda) it'll strip off the paint and not bother the plastic. I always wanted to build a Stompa or Gorkanaut with the front panel open and a giant rocket sticking out with grots riding it and two wrecking balls hanging bellow it... and a bunch of other grots inside including one on a stripper pole... because grots are weird that way.
Just watching you pull that caulk(or whatever it was) off it just made my skin crawl like I stepped over a not so dead ork!!!! Great video, love the channel, keep up the awesome work!!!
RUclips suggested this video while I was looking up fundamentals kitbashing. When I want to remove paint from a used model I find spraying Easy-Off oven cleaner on a piece then placing it in a plastic container with its top very helpful. The paint easily peels off as one skin. Also depends on the type of paint you want to remove, too. Before doing so take all the necessary precautions you would with any model [spray] painting project only being extra careful being that it’s oven cleaning spray.
Tistaminis is my local LGS for all things Warhammer and I am happy to see the stompa freed from its greenscreen lookin' misery and made propa orky and ready to krump some gitz! WAAAGH!
$50 plus free advertising was a great deal for the guy! I've got my own eBay store selling painted warhammer and the kind of traffic having your store featured on your channel is worth way more than his $150 price so worked out well for you both 👍 some of my stuff on my eBay needs rescuing 😜
I remember seeing this EXACT MODEL at my FLGS (Tista Minis in Hamilton Ontario). I thought, "wow what a disaster", and moved on, as I don't play orks. Then i see it on your channel, and as usual, you hit it out of the park.
I appreciate how you didn't just insult the person who did the model in the first place you at least tried to understand they were trying to make the stompa their own.
If they weren't so recognizable as receipt rolls I probably would have used at least a few. I still have them though, so who knows where they will end up!
@@eBayMiniatureRescues what if you trimmed the outer diameter into a cone shape and bolstered the back end with a larger bit of tubing? I think with a little disruption to the silhouette and integrating them into the body (having an area that says "this is where the orcs load and aim the gun" instead of them just being hotglued to nothing) could really sell it.
After watching this video more and more, I’m starting to come to the conclusion that this was actually a very deliberate and thought-out meme of a model, and the original creator has succeeded in that his model is on RUclips
It's totally possible that was the creator's intention all along. I've gotten a model in a similar shape to this before that was on eBay where I for sure thought I was being called out, like 99% sure it was a listing directed at me. And honestly, if that's the case for this stompa, I'd love to shake that guy's hand lol.
I have been following you since your Great Unclean One video. I think this is your best rebuild and video yet. This is why I followed you and absolutely love your work. Keep up the great work!
Great rescue, putting the little crane...grasper...thing... in there added so much personality to it. Personally I'd have tried to keep the idea and slapped as many belly cannons in there as possible, I kind of love the idea of a 40k mekboy just going "wait... if dakka is good.. and big dakka is big good... what... what if... what if MORE big dakka?"
You didn’t keep the original Bigga guns design? Bro… great work obviously, but a huge missed opportunity. This model/idea is worth revisiting for a video
Seriously. Missed opportunity to make the parts visually cohesive and result in a truly one of a kind figure. Always annoys me when people default to the easy option, gut everything interesting, and slap the aesthetic back into common ground.
Whoaaaa!! As someone who is just getting into the hobby of Warhammer painting, I loved watching the amount of detail and time you put into your project. Super inspiring and definitely where I want to be at some point in the future
My biggest problem with Warhammer figurines is that they basically don't have any value for anyone who didn't purchase them originally while you might be able to provide a good paint service that might be a viable option for making your money back but otherwise you will probably never break even at best by purchasing a new figurine.
Just found your channel and Warhammer modeling, everything on here is just pure awesome inspiration. I've painted acrylics on canvas for years but lately I've been tossing around the idea of getting into Warhammer/3d printed model painting. You pretty much just sold me on it, that thing is a monstrosity..but now it's a super fly monstrosity! Looking forward to more content, the level of detail you explain is really fun to watch. Happy New Year to everybody (in a few days!)
Orks and death guard models are so fun to me as well as the most appealing in different ways. Orks are literally kit bashing 101 it’s just take whatever looks fun and use some creative liberties to do whatever you want especially when it involves more dakka. Death guard involves decay and bloated flesh so when I see these plague burst crawlers using eyes and lots of green stuff to make such unique monstrosities of flesh and or metal it’s always impressive to me.
I feel like the seller watched too many videos on model magnetization and was like “I guess you’re supposed to put magnets everywhere” I’m guessing they saw the damage they had done to it and just gave up and quit Warhammer 40K entirely.
lol I've heard magnets are the way to go! Interesting though, I got more info on this model recently in the comment section from Tistaminis. I guess the guy who sold this to them also sold a massive lot of orks along with it. He found this model somewhere and used stuff he had laying around to try and make it playable. He sold everything to them though and said he was done with the hobby, so who knows, this model could have broken him and he bowed out entirely lol.
This was amazing and looks great. Your video series for Orktober has been the best I've ever seen, you're truly following the theme. Keep up the good work.
I've purchases from that ebay vendor before and If memory serves they were in Canada, so that is most likely why he referenced "USD", as with the conversion it would have been even worse a deal on their end if it was 50 Canadian.
It's definitely referencing the difference in currency. I just enjoyed the wordplay because it reminded me of business deals in old movies I've watched.
Were those register tape rolls glued to the front of the initial model. Oh well we're are all guilty of "it seemed like a good idea at the time." Glad you were able to salvage this one.
Really glad you didn’t dunk on the original model maker there- appreciation for the concept and the work put in and constructive criticism of the materials went a long way. I can just imagine some poor kid seeing his model labelled the ‘worst ever Warhammer model’ and never playing again.
My one problem with the little crane thing inside is that it makes it look like the entire thing is one big hollowed out space. So it makes me think, where are all the mechanisms required to run this thing? Where's the engine? It just makes it feel like it couldn't actually be a functioning machine.
@@eBayMiniatureRescues I still have the first few models I have ever painted (granted I'm still very new still making first 1000 point army) but they're truly horrific lmao
The colors are beautiful and vibrant and I like the color chipping and the effect with the blue. My only worry is that the evenness of the colors make it all look like it melted together, rather than being a thing cobbled together out fo many parts. Many that was in part intended with the amount of mud and it's battle ready rather than going for a golden demon or something.
As neat as the recipt rolls are for some kind of scary Shock Weapon or Laser Cannon, those are probably best used on a something greater than a Stompa. A Gargant. Though definitely in fewer numbers, like 3 or 4 at most.
Yeah, it was a good amount of time put in. Everything included I spent around 8 days on this project. I was mostly working on this the whole time, but of course, there was filming and editing as well. Still, it was one of the more intense projects I've done on this channel.
I've dealt with many drekked and questionably built model kits that I've gotten from eBay (including ones covered in mode podge and went through super glue hell) , but THIS one was...different....in it's own special way............
This was one of the more unique ones that I've gotten from eBay, to say the least! I've been eyeballing it for the last year too trying to make up my mind lol
@@eBayMiniatureRescues And I bought a few misprinted resin 3d, 1/60th scale Battletech figures from Etsy, so that's gonna be a weird event for me since I normally work with plastic.

Now it's cool but I won't remember it in ten minutes :/
completely agreed
Me too. I like the over the top guns it looks ugly, but it was creative, unlike the -1000% fier power version. The paint is good, but it just looks like a regular model
@@thomasted8363-1000% fier power a Orc would never support this.
That's a very Orkish philosophy.
lol, very orkish indeed
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this to you or if you've tried it. But brake fluid and brake clean are relatively cheap and do a good job at stripping paint. Brake fluid can be washed completely away with water as it is hydroscopic as from what I've seen with cars does little to no damage to plastic (tho I would test it on a smaller part first)
removing the 5000 guns was the worst thing yyou could have done
I've found that it's much easier to strip paint from a model after spraying it with some oven cleaner. Softens the paint AND makes superglue more b4ittle and easier to chip away.
Tistaminis is my LGS in Hamilton, Ontario. Legendary store and staff, and they just got a sweet new location. These guys deserve a ton of love for helping me and tons of others getting back into the hobby! Awesome seeing these two “collab” on this video haha
☝️
Just made a similar comment without seeing this one first. They're truly awesome. Super knowledgeable and friendly, and always crazy fast at getting their online orders out too
That's awesome! They have been great every time I've purchased from them, never any complaints, and that's hard to do on eBay. I'm glad they are doing well and helping people get into the hobby!
@@eBayMiniatureRescues hope we get to see lots more minis from them on the channel. Keep up the awesome work!
Was literally there yesterday, my go to store for paints and models
I'm not a war gamer and have never painted a mini. I don't why the Almighty Algorithm brought me here, but holy shit is that an impressive job. Casey, you are an artist.
There are some good grumpy faces in this one! It turned out quite proppa in the end tho 🙂
Definitely some grumpy faces 😂
both the original and this one are amazing. so much thought went into this lil' critter! i think it's whole journey is art in itself, showing how a community can make such a creation come to be
Thanks :)

Specially apreciated the way you were still respectfull tomthe previous owner! You're an awesome guy! 😘 And a fantastic endresult too. Have a great week. 🤘🦁🤘
Tistaminis just happens to be my local game shop! It's a wonderful shop with awesome staff. Highly recommend them to everyone 😊
It's crazy how many people are saying that Tistaminis is their lgs, I didn't even know they had a physical location! Super cool to see how much they are involved with the hobby, and it makes me feel better that buying from them is helping keep the lights on, literally! :)
Much appreciated!
I did actually come back to this project, guns and all :)
ruclips.net/video/atITY60cQqE/видео.html
That's a lot of firing arc to dakka dakka.
excellent work... just kinda wish you had somehow incorporated the original concept of an absurd number of forward facing barrels
Immensely disappointed you swerved away from the wall of guns that the original had going for it. Still, solid skill building what ya made of it!
I'm upset you abandoned the ridiculous artillery shotgun, but this is still the best mini video ive seen.
I like how you can see the original parts in the intro on the right
I'm keeping them too, never know when I'll need 20 green receipt rolls!
Tistaminis is my local LGS for all things Warhammer and I am happy to see the stompa freed from its greenscreen lookin' misery and made propa orky and ready to krump some gitz! WAAAGH!
It makes me very happy that Tistaminis is an actual lgs! I have bought quite a few minis from them over the years :)
$50 plus free advertising was a great deal for the guy! I've got my own eBay store selling painted warhammer and the kind of traffic having your store featured on your channel is worth way more than his $150 price so worked out well for you both 👍 some of my stuff on my eBay needs rescuing 😜
So basically you removed the one unique feature entirely.
Instead of improving it.
The mass amount of forward facing guns was true ork energy.
Sorry, it's an absolute crime that you didn't include at least some of those original cannons in the belly.
I remember seeing this EXACT MODEL at my FLGS (Tista Minis in Hamilton Ontario). I thought, "wow what a disaster", and moved on, as I don't play orks. Then i see it on your channel, and as usual, you hit it out of the park.
Champ work man. Beautiful model that texture paint looks great.
I appreciate how you didn't just insult the person who did the model in the first place you at least tried to understand they were trying to make the stompa their own.
Great work and as always respectful and considerate. Thank you Casey
Much appreciated :)
What a wholesome approach to your views on that "mini".
What an ending to Orctober, Tabletop Time also made a stomper :D
I still haven't watched it, the thumbnail looks epic though! It's been a good season this year :)
You've been very generous in your initial assessment of the model. That's one heck of a stompa now!
Can't believe you didn't keep the chest cannons they were propa orky/j
If they weren't so recognizable as receipt rolls I probably would have used at least a few. I still have them though, so who knows where they will end up!
@@eBayMiniatureRescues what if you trimmed the outer diameter into a cone shape and bolstered the back end with a larger bit of tubing? I think with a little disruption to the silhouette and integrating them into the body (having an area that says "this is where the orcs load and aim the gun" instead of them just being hotglued to nothing) could really sell it.
it looks like this Stompa was actually defeated in combat, but then the Orks got it operational again after being left to rust for a while
Some LEDs inside can give an extra to an already awesome rescue. Great job!
That would be really cool, there’s plenty of room all around to get those in too!
I love how you can see the rolls in the background in the beginning shots.
Disappointed that the Gun Belly didn't stay, just in a better arrangement / quality of work.
This is superb, right down to the glinting reflections in that ork's eyes at 26:26 as he peers out from within the belly of the beast.
What is the point of buying this model if you got rid of its one unique feature?
Cause it's about rescuing miniatures... Really not hard to understand
Because its one unique feature is hella ugly
@@childrenofthesun471 sarcastic tw@.
Seriously. Missed opportunity to make the parts visually cohesive and result in a truly one of a kind figure. Always annoys me when people default to the easy option, gut everything interesting, and slap the aesthetic back into common ground.
he didn't rescue shit he just made a model from scratch @@childrenofthesun471
Whoaaaa!! As someone who is just getting into the hobby of Warhammer painting, I loved watching the amount of detail and time you put into your project. Super inspiring and definitely where I want to be at some point in the future
Awwwwww yeah i love a feel good story involving a Rescue, so glad to see Stompy found a forever home. Good man!
My biggest problem with Warhammer figurines is that they basically don't have any value for anyone who didn't purchase them originally while you might be able to provide a good paint service that might be a viable option for making your money back but otherwise you will probably never break even at best by purchasing a new figurine.
Honestly, That Orc stompa was beautiful and you just need to accept him for who he is.
Happy New Year to everybody (in a few days!)
removing all those cannons and not replacing them is kind of a shame. looks just like a normal stomper now
Orks and death guard models are so fun to me as well as the most appealing in different ways.
Almost every top comment here is saying how they feel cheated that you didnt use the receipt cannons.
wish you had kept the idea of the ton of massive mortars sticking out of the front, which i think was those register roll cores where supposed to be?
I feel like the seller watched too many videos on model magnetization and was like
“I guess you’re supposed to put magnets everywhere”
I’m guessing they saw the damage they had done to it and just gave up and quit Warhammer 40K entirely.
lol I've heard magnets are the way to go!
I can just imagine some poor kid seeing his model labelled the ‘worst ever Warhammer model’ and never playing again.
wen da warboss saiz yew need more dakka
jokes aside, you did a pretty damn good job fixing this mini up dude, gj
Hey, thats great! Really cool restoration, and the missing chest panel looking like a skull is just chefs kiss!
Its a beautiful Stompa. That's got so much Dakka it would make Gork blush
> Getting rid of the guns instead of making them work in the end design
Made me sad.
My one problem with the little crane thing inside is that it makes it look like the entire thing is one big hollowed out space. So it makes me think, where are all the mechanisms required to run this thing? Where's the engine? It just makes it feel like it couldn't actually be a functioning machine.
I think you did Ebay a favour removing that from their site. How good does that look now? Fantastic work Casey, really impressive.
Looks like you're back and at it buddy! I think it might need a couple more guns however...
lol yeah I'm back! It could use a couple more guns, but man, those receipt rolls were something else.
IF I ever see one of my models on here I'm falling to chaos
Send one it, do it...
The amount of work that must've gone into the paint job is staggering, let along the whole kitbashing and salvaging of the build in the first place!
Yeah, it was a good amount of time put in. Everything included I spent around 8 days on this project. I was mostly working on this the whole time, but of course, there was filming and editing as well. Still, it was one of the more intense projects I've done on this channel.
@@eBayMiniatureRescues well damn, that's a hell of a quick turnaround considering! Sounds like you deserve a holiday after that
I've dealt with many drekked and questionably built model kits that I've gotten from eBay (including ones covered in mode podge and went through super glue hell) , but THIS one was...different....in it's own special way............
So awesome! Wow! I love the little tractor claw compartment you built in, that was so clever and it looks so menacing!
I am a year late but just on time. I might have to order a couple of those premade models to practice my painting on before I invest in a model set.
Not a bad way to go!
Its so Ork that the shoulder of their Stompa is now made from a piece of your old Titan kit.
I actualyl enjoy the original direction they were going for
ruclips.net/video/atITY60cQqE/видео.html
Wow! You did an amazing job with this rescue. From making a great deal when purchasing the model all the way to your free hand painting at the end. You have such a cool channel and it is great to see these models get a second life after all the hard work you put in.
