I watch your instructional videos, which are so good and detailed, and I think 37 years old isn't too late to learn a Tantrum :) Anyone can do a 180 or 360 working through your last videos, and I really wish I had started trying more difficult tricks years ago. If you're 20 and reading this, try these tricks now, not later.
Bros, that's one of the most common mistakes when people go for the tantrum. I used to give a few different reasons about why that frontside rotation happens. Pulling the handle, looking over the front shoulder, turning your hips, again pulling the handle. BUT, I've found that I believe the biggest reason for the frontside rotation is the rider trying to protect the front of their body. Face and for guys, their man biz. A way I've found for people to overcome that natural protecting of the front of our body is to cut in w a pretty decent amount of speed so that when you get to the wake you can let go of the rope and go for it ropeless. This gives the rider a different sensation most of the time and they don't have such an instinct to protect themselves. Do that a few times and see if it helps.
