Just been reading through my set of the new rules and trying to wrap my head around the spell attack rules. Can’t remember what video you were talking about them in but I think the attacks on the demons do count as ‘spells’ and ‘spell attack actions’.
p30 of wyrdhollow rules in the attack actions rules says attack actions with the wee web symbol beside it are spell attacks.
Then the spell rules on p37 say spell attacks on fighter cards count as spells and are used the same way as attack actions.
Though, in classic GW style, the glossary for ‘spell attack action’ states only wizards can use these attack actions, which isn’t actually in the full version of the rules written out. Ffs!
Anyway, I think you should be able to score spell based objectives off the demons attack actions that use spell dice Pete - from my interpretation.

Yes! We did eventually work that out in our live stream on Thursday night but as you say it's very well hidden.
I suddenly noticed the little web symbol but couldn't find reference to it in the rules whilst we were on air.
But, like you say the "what is a wizard" question still isn't full defined!

Yes since recording these initial games before anything was released/discussed it’s become quite clear these guys are a hang back and pew pew style warband which makes for some interesting match up possibilities!

They were made for us by a Patron. We do keep asking him if he's going to make the STL files available but he's a busy man!

why do you not get re-rolls for stagger when using a spell attack action?
The rules say you can reroll "one attack dice" in an attack action. Spell dice aren't attack dice.
But the attack from a fighter card is a spell attack action, so why wiuld you not get the reroll?
Also the new rulebook for stagger states 'attack or casting roll'
Ooh, interesting. We checked the glossary. Thus says "attack dice." looks like it hasn't been updated.
In that case, I would say we've been playing it wrong and you can be staggered on spell attack actions.
Though there is still a differentiation between attack dice and spell dice so other cards that allow attack dice rerolls wouldn’t affect spell attacks
