Spartan Locker and replace my front springs

- We finally upgrade the front axle by removing the mini spool and install a spartan locker "lunchbox type". The old Mini spool worked O.K. but not as well as u had hoped. Knowing how well spartan lockers work, I was pretty excited to install one into DECAY. While I'm installing it, I also chose to change out my front springs, the right spring had gotten bent while over flexing it, I think, and I sheered of the center pin in the left spring. lots of chaos, ha-ha. #chevy #squarebody #offroad #spartanlocker #k20 #squarebodychevy

keep it up! just found ya, hoping your channel grows!
Thank you. I’m glad you like this stuff. Thanks for your support and for the kind words.
Get yourself a super duty front driveshaft and order the 4 bolt flange for the rear of the 205. Then either shorten it yourself or get it shortened. It's a smaller thicker diameter shaft then that huge easily bent one you have.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely look into that. I plan on replacing that big boat anchor. I’m hoping to put in a 203/205 doubler in the future and I’m just too cheap to throw a bunch of money into a driveshaft that I m going to have to get shortened again. I might have to do it before then but just trying to get by with this until that time. Thanks again for the good advice
@@Farm10customs I've done the superduty shafts before too, they work great, used ones at the wreckers around here are around a $100. I didn't see how you mounted the driveline back in but in my old k5 Jimmy I put the slip on the axle end (like the front) and that helped me stop denting my rear shafts and vibrating for the trip back home after having fun all day in the rocks but they were the same yokes on the t-case too... Cheers!
What year super duty did you get your shaft out of?
Do you remember what years drive shaft you used?
@@Farm10customs 99 to 04 is what I used once I swapped to chevy one tons and changed up the yokes to 1350 and flanges on the 205. They still needed to be modified by the driveline shop
Great video as always! Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you so much. Fortunately there will be more. Thank you for watching and for your kind words.
Can we get a detailed truck tour? Awesome build!
Thanks for the compliment. I’m sure I can do that at some point in the near future. If it’s not too boring. Meanwhile almost everything I’ve done to it is in the “Decay” playlist. But I will still do that, maybe next time I’m out playing. Thank you for watching
Right on Larry, I've been waiting for this video.
👌
Well sir. I hope it’s what you needed. For a little more detail check out the video on the mini spool. Thanks for hanging in there. I appreciate you watching and your comments. Thanks again
Beautiful build
Thank you for the compliment. And thank you for watching
Where'd the new springs come from?
These are extra rear 52” springs that I had sitting around just for this reason. Eventually I’ll get around to getting something better but these work great for now, as long as I don’t bend them again. Haha
Nice fixes!! Hopefully I will get my K30 going in 2025
Thank you. I hope you do too. Just don’t bite off too much at one time. Have fun with your pickup and I appreciate you taking the time to share
I know you recently shortened your truck frame. Have you checked the welds for any signs of cracking? Doing all the twisting and flexing of trail rides do you anticipate any trouble?
I haven’t really taken it out and abused it yet, but I have no worries about it cracking. I feel really good about the welds and reinforcing of the frame. Of course I will check on it now and then. Thanks for asking and for watching
what size tire are you running? and approximately how much lift?
Thanks for asking. I’m running a set of 37x13.50-17 Toyo m/t’s and my lift is about 4” give or take.
Thanks for watching
