- Last time we got the wrong filter. This time it is the right filter, but the fit is just poor. Don't get DNA for this bike, go with the Sprint, BMC or OEM.
I have used DNA many times over the years and had a good experience. Not this time!
I put the MRA racing screen on mine. Perfect and better than any other I tried before
Always been a fan of BMC over others. They just seem to fit the bikes I've put them in real nice, just like OEM. Especially on my British bikes.
Dsve theres one bolt on each air scoop fastening it to the filter top. I remove these. Makes putting the cover on and off a million times easier.
Just installed a DNA filter and had the slight bow like you talked about, tightened the screws down and now I have a check engine light, so if it’s for a lean condition or something like that I’m going to be pretty mad.

Just got one for my 2023 zx6r, I hope it works good 😮
I am sure it will be fine. I have used DNA in the past and never had issues, so I assume its just related to this particular model...
Damn, I already bought it lol...supposed to be the gold standard
That video is over a year old. Either mine was wonky, or I am sure they fixed any fitment issues by now.
Hey Dave, wouldn't it be easier to work on your bikes on a hydraulic bike table, you could have it at any height, which is great for the old body, take it from me, once you get one, you'll never miss laying on the floor while working on your bike....
Does the DNA filter make a difference even with tune or no?
Of course they claim it does, but I would be surprised if it added more than 1hp. I got it so I can wash and reuse it.
Let me know if they made any updates before i order one !?!
No idea if they updated it after I purchased mine, to be honest. You would have to have the old one and a brand new one and a set of calipers to go over them both, measure and compare. I would like to think that they have sorted them out by now, or, perhaps I just got a wonky one?

I wish I would have seen this video sooner! I juat got a DNA filter for my 2020 yamaha r1 and the lip of the filter is to tall and won't allow my airbox to seal properly. Did you ever get a refund or talk with DNA at all? I'm pretty upset lol
I got mine to finally seat properly but it was a pain. Look liking forward to the next time I have to clean and re oil it...
Well hopefully the one tor the new gsx s1000 fits well.
Hey does the AIT sensor just stay outside of the airbox? Also does it point down to the frame?
Not sure what you are asking.
@@SquireSCA hi! The air intake temperature sensor. It is located on the right side of the bike.
@@Tentenrider I don't have the bike any more so I can't check, but I believe it only mounts one way, so you really can't mess it up
hi i have the mt10 sp 2024, i was searching for the kyn filter but there is not one, do you have some information about it ???
I don't see one on their website... I think I went with the BMC filter, and there is also Sprint...
Did you drain the gas tank ?
No, but it would make it easier if you rode the bike till it was low on gas, to make it lighter and easier to handle.
It should have come with a cup of grease. That was the only way to get it to sit in the channel. Was a major pita!!
Yeah, I tried greasing the channel but it was still a tough fit...
@@SquireSCA not sure why they didn't use a stiffer rubber for the surround. I've ran DNA's in all my bikes including the new 10.
What screen model
Screen model? Not sure what you are asking
you should have stuck to the K&N filter you had the right one you were just fitting it wrong. it doesn't sit were the original sits lol
Really? Because I feel like they changed the airbox on the newer model. The shape of the filter is different. I had a 2022 R1 that used that filter you see in the video, but it clearly wasn't going to fit in the new bike... I can't imagine how I could have shoehorned that K&N in there... lol
@@SquireSCA yes there is a bit of confusion over the k&n filters i contacted 3 dealers and they all gave me a different code, but anyway there hard to get everyone out of stock so i got another brand. keep the videos coming there good to watch 😀
It’s a good thing he didn’t k and n filters are notorious for poor filtration and fitment
That the MRA screen?
I think its the Puig.
@@SquireSCA o very nice.
Why are you deleting comments mate?
How many dollars did you get to publish those lies?
I used DNA and the fitment/sealing was OK.
I haven't deleted anything. I never even got an alert that you made a comment, until this one. Mine, didn't fit right. I didn't order 100 of them so that I could try each one and see if any of them fit. I got the one, and it didn't fit right. And a few others had similar issues. Maybe there was a bad first batch of them, I don't know.
But my experience differing from yours does not make me a liar, or mean that I am financially compensated by the competition. I wish I had that much clout that manufacturers were willing to bribe me. lol
@@SquireSCA Finally I can see my comment. Thanks for keeping it.My previous 2 comments are nowhere.Who knows...
@@MiniRocket223 I don't delete comments unless they are spam or someone being over the top and shitty, at which point I just block them entirely, which only happens a couple times a year. I blame a glitch in the matrix. 🙂
@@MiniRocket223 I rarely if ever delete anything.
