  • Here is a link to the practice I refer to in the video:
    • 6 Healing Sounds Qigon...
    This SHORT Bioenergetic Health (Qigong) practice gently opens the lungs and strengthens the immune system using similar principles as acupuncture to open the "Lung Meridian" and thus mobilize the "Wei Qi" (Guardian Energy) of the whole body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist thought, the Lungs are the commanders of the Wei Qi, and are responsible for moving our Qi from the interior to the surface in order to put up a vigorous defense against pathogens.
    For the curious and/or skeptical (skepticism is welcome here), there are several studies showing that Qigong practice helps the body to produce more immune cells, and can even make those cells more potent, among a number of other health benefits:

    Thank you Nick. A shorter version and my arms didn' t fall off. Yes , half of the yesterday shoulder work
    Even no airplane today .
    My Q : when we hold the hands over tummy at the end. Some years ago one instructor said that girls and boys ! put different hands on top. ??? Heard of this at all ?
    Also I have to comment that all the Breathing recent videos include " Corona" word in the title.Yes, we are scared and there is a good marketing tool. LOL

    • @TheNickLoffree
      @TheNickLoffree  4 года назад

      Good, yes, take it easy on the shoulders. I've seen different schools say the opposite instruction on the left/right male/female thing, and have concluded it is likely a superstition and probably not to worry about. Whichever feels better is fine, as far as I can tell.
      Haha, and yes, trying to get the most out of the RUclips algorithms (coronavirus is a very highly searched term right now - maybe some people who have never heard of Qigong will find the practice because they were searching for stuff about the virus!)

    Well presented. I especially appreciated when Nick cautioned if there was a "burning" sensation in the shoulder to stop, as the last few days I've had a problem with one shoulder. I really felt the "buzz", Nick! Thank you!

    Can you please do a video like this but without the explanations. Just a continuous flow, without interruptions. Once we've learned about it, we'd like to just follow along on a daily basis. Thanks!

      Noted! That is a really good idea. I'll try to figure out a way to do that. Perhaps using voiceover so I can make two versions...

    Glad you noted..re-directing energy & attention from our head & emotions =down to our gut. At least that’s what I needed.

    • @TheNickLoffree
      @TheNickLoffree  4 года назад

      Awesome! Yes we humans are heady creatures. Pretty much the main goal of Qigong is to sink our chi down to the gut. All the rest is just creating the conditions for that to happen. Glad it hit the spot!

    Thanks this was incredible! I feel pretty bad about shooting that golden eagle though. Poor eagle never did anything to me. 🏹🦅🤣
    "We try to keep our attention and energy inside by keeping the mouth closed... if we can." ...that seems like a very apt metaphor (or whatever figure of speech it is😆) and some good advice in general. 🌬️
    I feel much calmer and more centered. That really did feel great on my lungs too- it has been so smoky and hazy here this week and my lungs and immune system were definitely needing a recharge. Many blessings! ✨🙏✨

    Your presentation, the exercises and explanation always feel very harmonious. :) with all the thousands of videos about qi gong and all the videos with qi gong flows, I keep coming back to yours and two other practitioners which focus on women's health issues. Your videos feel "accessible", if that makes sense. guessing your personality has a lot to do with it too. very chill and unassuming, inviting, instead of preaching from the mountain. Thanks! Always worth the watch and follow along.
