i dont think there is a most versatile one, i dont exactly know what you mean with versatility. they all cover the same number of notes and it depends on the type of song you want to play.. some concertos are specifically for some type of recorders. The difference also is the tune.. this is very important.. the sopranino is in F, soprano in C, alto in F and so on.. so depending on the range of notes you want to play you will choose the right one.
@@ytyamada1 : go to the information panel immediately below the Video window and click the bold text "Show more" link = it expands the information panel to show all the relevant BWV catalogue numbers and names of the individual movements - the video contains a compendium of several of Bach's works - so there isn't just a single BWV number. Alternatively, there is a "Chapters" listing just after the initial list of BWV numbers: that duplicates the same information in the form of a "Playlist" (to the far right column) if you click the blue "View all" link to the near right of the "Chapters" heading.

It’s a serious musical instrument in the correct hands!
Yeah they’re great, but don’t call them concertos for recorder, call them transcriptions for recorder & ensemble from JS Bach concertos. Misleading.
