    Amazing! Both Tosin and Javier are incredible and I feel Tosin gets most of the attention but Javier deserves it too. I know Tosin started Animals As Leaders but man, both deserve praise for their work. Not knocking Tosin or anything. Just saying both are true inspirations of mine. I haven't gone through their entire discography just yet buy I'm working on it. An acoustic album by Animals As Leaders would be... not from this world.

      I'm telling you dude! Tosin is the man but I have to say I was more excited to see Javier when I saw AAL play live. Unfortunately Javier's parts in those songs leave all the room in the world for Tosin to shine lol, they're pretty boring though of course it wouldn't be AAL without them. That being said, getting to see him do the Mestis stuff live was so awesome. Grateful for that and things like these video spots where we can see him really flex his abilities.

      It all comes down to how you use it. Playing an 8 string classic and using the extended low range to hold down the bass is something. Chugging the open 8th string on an electric for 5 minutes is a different story…

      A Sloth yeah djent is such a stupid name anybody who uses extended range guitars gets called djent when they don't even make the djent sound. like calling plini and scale the summit djent is strange. I just call it progressive metal.

    Interesting Fact: There were ten and 8 strings used by some back in the old days to play classical peices that that had a wider range that a 6 string.
    Also 7 strings were in the Jazz scene before the Metal, Fusion, and Rock scene.

      True. That said, classical 10 strings were mostly used to have the lower strings tuned in order to ring in sympathy with the first 6. Not necessarily to get a wider range.

    Wow... I've never seen anything like this before. Almost hypnotizing the way Javier plays this guitar. Oh and an 8-string acoustic guitar is pretty bad ass. Glad to have seen this :)

      What do you think of the way he connects melodies/bass lines ? I think he’s not very good at it. It’s very staggered.
      I just think it doesn’t work for classical.
      It’s something that works better as a jazz chord melody.
