THE BIRTH AND EARLY EXPLOITS OF HERMES - HERMES' CONFESSION A tale told from Hermes and Maia, the mother of Hermes, of how he came to be. This tricky god got up to a lot of mischief in his first few days of life, including upsetting the greek god Apollo. This video details the twisting tale of his birth and his roles in the pantheon of olympic gods. Living Mythology is an attempt to entertain, relax and educate all in the one place. We are trying to forge narratives so that people can experience the religions and mythologies of the world as they were meant to be. Not as dry academic monoliths, but as living breathing tales and parables as experienced by the peoples who worshipped these beings, in an attempt to make sense of their own lives and the world around them. This channel is in its infancy, so we hope to improve and develop it as we gain more experience. All of the tales are taken from very conflicting traditions across many centuries, so there will be many a moment when decisions need to be made to create a more cohesive narrative. If we present something that seems to be in contrast to details, rest assured we have researched many forms of the traditions and come to the conclusions we have done to form the videos. There will NEVER be total agreement on any of these narratives due to the history and differing ways they developed over the centuries. These videos are for entertainment and an easy gateway to the subject. If you wish more academic details then please direct your attention to the wide source material and others who perform those types of academic video essays. I had a smile on my face for the entire duration of this video. It reminded me so much of how I was when I was a young child and all the mischief and trouble I got myself into. The response from Zeus was what I imagine any parent has when hearing of the devious exploits of their children, slightly disappointed, and yet proud of their ingenuity. My own parents were the same way. This captures what it is to be a young boy so well. Hermes is restless, bored, easily entertained, and a bit of a troublemaker. His antics make his mother worry and fret to the point of explosive anger, and yet she just wants him to be healthy and strong. Keep up the wonderful work, Sir Baldermort and Lady Lightbringer. 🤠
To remind people of their own lives and families, a delight and a wonder! Thank you for sharing Zachariah, and I'm so glad that the stories portrayed the right things. Curiosity of a child, the worry of a mother and how complicated families can be! Thank you for watching and enjoying our videos and sharing your wonderful thoughts! - Lightbringer
He is pretty funny! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the latest episode!!! Thank you for watching and commenting again, your continued support is always appreciated! - Lightbringer
I think this has become my fav story. *Hermes 4 minutes old* I’ve waited long enough enough, times to stir some stuff up 😂 Hermes is bringing all the cows to the yard I laughed so many times during this video but I think my fav part was Apollo accusing Hermes and Hermes being like ‘Dude I’m a baby I couldn’t possibly’ 😂😂😂😂😂
That was a great change of pace. From Gaia to Zeus to Hera, the story has been building. Then, out of nowhere comes a cunning baby and his mom up all night worried sick. Lying to the God of ethe Universe....against his brother. Epic brother madness. Lore coming alive, is being accomplished. Baldy and Light, you are fantastic as always.
I have listened to many of these stories now and the more I listen the more I realize that I am not listening to the stories of gods, but, the story of me, the story of you, the story of all of us. The story of everything that we can be, the good and the bad.
That's the real truth, stories are often about all of us. Humanity, all the good and all the bad, but isn't it incredible? Oh to be alive! - Lightbringer
Love the work you are doing! The stories are amazing! The really put a new twist on the history/mythology of these characters. Visuals always well done as always! Keep it up! Blessings of the gods upon you!
Thank you so much James! We appreciate it so much and it makes all the hard work worth it! Thank you for your continued support and enjoyment in our work - Lightbringer

"...staring at the instrument, he asked me, how I could have created such beauty" "...sand about the first God, chaos...the triumph of the Olympians..." "...for this cave, was soon going to be a prison for the both of us" "...I knew, Apollo was no fool and I awaited his arrival" My favorite parts

This one made me cringe, but pushed self to listen to it’s entirety. A child who kills an animal due to lack of self control to weld an instrument to seduce and steal cattle that is not his? If that’s not a sociopath headed into the realm of psychopath, I don’t know what is…

The GREEK skin has a much darker pigment.
