I love that the original Jurassic PArk relied so heavily on animatronics and only used CGI when necessary. It made the creatures feel more terrifying.
Jurassic World seemed so lifeless because of the over reliance on CGI for the dinosaurs. I miss the 90s when more work was put into making creatures feel real with practical effects.
This new movie has lots of animatronics! So it's time for practical effects to come back with full force
I blame limited budgets and higher costs for practical effects.
Imagine if the first Jurassic World movie from 2015 used animatronics alongside CGI!
The new movie has a lot of dinosaur animatronics but it seems like they made them purposely less smooth and less realistic so that they could imitate what the animatronics in 1993 looked like. I love animatronics but in my opinion it didn’t work well with the rest of the movie being completely digital editing.
@@m.nic.5080 Completely appreciate what you are saying, but I can guarantee they wouldn't have tried to purposefully make animatronics jankier.
The full bodied Indominus in the universal studios ride that confronts the Rex as the coaster goes down the waterfall is one of the best animatronics of the whole franchise. It’s a shame it wasn’t actually built and used for the movie.
I blame corporate budgets. Don't you miss spare no expense.
Great timing for me, since my daily driver is a JW truck and I came to work this morning with my "Alpha Training Blue" in the passenger seat. You get some weird looks while waiting at the intersection. That's probably the single best consumer-available dino robot I've ever seen. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a dino ride along. ( Still trying to build a 1:1 scale adult Raptor head/torso for the passenger seat though... )
This just shows that these animatronics and effects can make a difference. And I am looking forward to the up coming movie

I’ve always loved / was terrified of the raptors
I know this came out a while ago, but I actually worked at Jurassic World; The Exhibition. Rexy was definitely one of the best animatronic dinos in the whole thing. The first time I saw her I actually got scared. Her eyes flick over the audience and her roar is powerful in your chest. It’s something everyone should experience
Also, she isn’t full body. She has no feet!

Velociraptor is my favorite. I love Jurassic World and dinosaurs.
to be honest, i can see why animatronics would definitely benefit over CGI. mainly because i'm thinking about water physics. i'm no expert in CGI, but i'm pretty sure making water physics is pretty freaken hard. things like rain or even a flood maybe. i think the animatronics would be amazing and really make the movie more realistic for up close scenes.
Jurassic animatronics are always awesome! Also its pronounced "Giga - noto - saurus"
The sick Triceratops will always be my favorite. I feel like compared to the other dinosaurs, Triceratops has become underrated, especially because of JP3 and its two pc games.

I cant wait to see a video on the animax dino's. Indom was very annoying. She always had a problem. Every night it was either "dino-doncha' broken teeth" or her spine rod was snapped, so many late nights with her I lost count.
Her teeth problem was so bad that we made a game out of it.

There’s lots of animatronic dinosaurs for theme parks and exhibitions that are definitely realistic and lifelike just like their real-life fossil counterparts!

Heck yeah the scenes in Jurassic Park are impressive but Rexy was the best one made because she moved just a real animal she looks so badass in that scene in the rain.
Excuse me if I’m mistaken but I thought The Exhibition was by Creature Technology? I went to The Exhibition and I highly suggest any animatronic/ JP and JW lovers go see it. I even was curious if they added on the legs of the T-Rex when running considering how large it was and when recording by raising my arm above the fencing I could see that anything below it’s knees was not attached but basically upper part of the legs were just left to move without feet… I also expect this is why in some venues it seems the Rex stands up to full height than others. Still amazing though!

Creature Technologies did do most of the dinos for the first exhibition, but Animax took over the contract after being acquired by City Neon in 2020.
@@LauraEJordan where is the info on this I would def like to read up on why the change?
@@k.a.tproductions2713 I don't know the details on why they changed, though I assume Creature Technologies was booked out when City Neon decided to expand, as they only accept a limited number of contracts at a time. City Neon and Animax's social media have had a fair amount of info on the exhibition and Tested did a video series with them on building dinos, but sadly they took the videos down.
Back then when raptors were actually scary...
I love Dua Lipa. And I love audio animatronics. So making a Dua Lipa audio animatronic would be pretty cool.

The Dominion animatronics don’t hold a candle to Stan Winston Studios, unfortunately. They just looked way too stiff and obvious.

GIGANOTOSAURUS!
Sadly, this series has been extremely milked and has gone down in quality, but the animatronics are extremely impressive. I believe that Chris Pratt has honesty ruined it with his sub par acting (also he's a bible thumper, so there's that.) The Dominion movie was horrid btw and honestly, the animatronics seemed to be lacking, vs the older ones and the exhibition ones.
Chris Pratt being a "Bible Thumper" isn't really the problem. The real problem is that his character ( Owen Grady ) is nothing more than a generic action hero who does nothing but use the whole "magic hand" thing on every Dinosaur he encounters.
IT DOESN'T WORK ON EVERY DINOSAUR!!!
Also, I literally rolled my eyes when he grabbed the Dilophosaurus by the throat and strangles it right when it was about to spit vemom at Claire, it looked so goofy.
Dominion truly is the worst in the franchise, it honestly make's Jurassic Park lll look good.
