Superb bike but one that makes me feel old! . I've had 3 Street Triple's since 2007 all Mk1's with the twin headlamps
and I absolutely loved them . But now despite loving to look at them and maybe having a quick blast I have no desire to
own one whatsoever😤! ... Too 'edgy' , too eager, too demanding to be thrashed all the time. Last year I had my final one side by side with my Street Scrambler in the garage and I always choose the Scram to ride .. Age eh? ..Great review TAYM👍

For 3 years I owned a 12 reg Royal Purple 675 Street Triple the last of the under seat exhaust and close ratio gear box. Boy did it go and I had a Nitron rear shock put on, even did a 5 day tour of Ireland in 2019. As you said in your video they just keep egging you on to go faster, when the 765 RS came out I was offered a test ride. When I got back was asked what I thought , had to confess I preferred my bike as the pick up was far more immediate. 😅 I finally parted with the Triumph as the high revs finally got to me and 2 bikes later the Classic 350 became my perfect bike. 😊

Sorry to be pedantic but the R has four engine settings not two, they are road, rain, sport and rider (the RS has got the extra track setting) also the price difference is only an extra 1,750 pounds for the RS, which is IMO well worth it and the reason I opted for the RS.

Good review and nice to see the boatyard again ,I thought you'd been banned from there .
You made a good point about paying for extras on modern bikes and when you consider that ,there isn't really that much price difference between makes and models . But you do get to choose bikes on other criteria .
The decapitated wasp look is not for me , a small twin round headlamp console would be preferable .
I see this bike has the same cheap looking clocks/dash as the Tiger Sport 660 ,which is a shame .
Perhaps Triumph should make a Tiger 765 with 100 hp , a 19" front wheel and a conventional crankshaft , I'd certainly be interested .

The sound a triple makes is just spine tingling. It is a beautiful bike but not sold on the lights or the squeaky brakes!!. £1000 difference between this and the 8S, considering how good the 8S is, at first seems quite a lot but then you factor in the braided brakes lines and top quality nuts and bolts fitted as standard, then its stacks up pretty good. So glad you mention the state of the roads. Potholes, poor repairs, add in mud, sand & stones from the fields keeps me on my toes on my daily commute.

Good review Taym, it`s OK for the young at heart, but to be honest it ain`t that fast not for 9.5k. You mentioned its natural rivals, all from Japan and in my view better bikes, well the Suzuki and Honda Hornet are and you can buy an awful lot of miles with £2.5 Grand. 2 things that you didn`t mention are that infernal high pitched buzzing from the engine annoyed the hell out of me at motorway speeds and the brake squeal on slowing down. Seems Triumph have taken no notice of customers complaints on this issue, and it has become an issue cos Triumph have not rectified it. Sorry, big H would be my buy.

Not that fast ? 95kw on 765 vs 67kw on hornet. Are you sure you changed gear on the Triumph ? It goes like stink in a straight line and kills the hornet round the bends. Better power, suspension and fuelling. If non of that’s important, the hornets a great bike. Thing is, Yamaha had the mt07 years ago.

Downshifts use Quick Shifter at anytime.I use the clutch at low speeds changing up & use Quick Shifter at high revs where it works best & slowing for corners fast or some idiot pulls out etc. Also smoother gear changes at higher RPM when changing up with Quick Shifter & bike sounds funny using Quick Shifter at low rpm even if changing quickly is not as smooth & in lower gears I use clutch for smoother change at low rpm.I use clutch probably 75% of the time.
