- Towards the end of the Naruto manga, a large portion of the fandom was split between pairings and it appears as if battle lines are being drawn in the boruto fandom as well. Should Boruto date Sumire or should he fall in love with Sarada? Both supporters of each ship have their own reasons, but which is more likely? Is it Sumire or Sarada? In today's video we're going to look at the possibility of Boruto falling in love with Sumire!

If boruto ended up with sumire, it would be like going out with his mother. Why do people want a repeat where the main character marries a side character that is barely in the manga and had, so far, hardly contributed to the plot.

Its not same tho. At the beginning sumire being a tools by his father for revenge. Their personality also different. Hinata was pure innocent and shy person while sumire are not shy around the ppl. She just act shy at the beginning to hide her objective
My guy...Hinata barley did anything in OG naruto, we all thought naruto would go with Sakura fo sho but he didn’t, wait for the time skip (boruto shippuden) and I bet Sumire will do something like Hinata did with naruto when he was against pain.... just give it some time...BoruSumi is the perfect pair

It's obviously going to be Sarada. Both Kishimoto and Kodachi have teased it time and time again and its popularity skyrocketed ever since, ultimately becoming the most popular ship in the new generation (75% of the fandom wants it). If Kodachi is to make pairings, Boruto and Sarada would be the ideal choice. Not only does it feel natural and well-earned but Naruto and Sasuke becoming family makes for a very wholesome ending to such a long-running franchise and you bet, that Kodachi as the author is well aware of that. This ship simply has too much to offer to not become canon.

BoruSara is different from NaruSaku. There were no moments between Naruto and Sakura when they were children. There were moments for BoruSara because they were childhood friends. Sakura does not know Naruto well at first. Sarada knew all about Boruto well at first. Sakura is not interested in Naruto since she was young. But Sarada is interested in Borito since she was young, cuz Boruto wants to attract his father's attention, that is why Sarada said she is similar to Boruto. Sarada told Boruto that his eyes were more blue than the seventh, do you know why ? Cuz she is always watching him, she is always talking about him, just Boruto and no one else. she likes to help him. Boruto about Sarada: This girl with the glasses pesters me every once in a while! Things like becoming the Hokage…she’s a peculiar girl.
Unlike Naruto who was afraid of Sakura. Boruto blushed because he knew that Sarada was watching him a lot, he always wants to appear well in front of her.

After all, The relationship between Boroto and Sarada is more than a friendship. Who knows? Maybe their relationship will be like a family like Naruto and Sakura, or a couple

It's BoruSara actually. Kishimoto's NaruHina was owesome but still many fans ship SasuNaru or expected NaruSaku. Even in Google you'll find hundreds of anti-Naruto ending facts so he'll not repeat another NaruHina by BoruSumi. Plus he'll lose majority of his audience if BoruSumi happens because 85% are BoruSara shippers.

Can we all just collectively agree that we appreciate this guy's work. He constantly puts out content every day in such a structured manner that i look forward to every video. Thank you for all the work you do and keep it up mate. Honestly, can't begin to express how much these videos have helped me keep distracted and get over tough times. In regards to this specific video, I hope Sumire and Boruto get together. 1) I find Sasuke's daughter and Naruto's son getting together weird lol. 2) Sumire and Boruto look more badass together. 3) BoruSara will make the authors want to start a third series or some shit lmao

Sumire and Boruto will look more badass? Sarada is a thousand times stronger than Sumire, and she always will be. And Boruto will most likely become the strongest Shinobi by the time the series has ended. And since Sarada has the qualities of Sakura, a very strong female, they will look more badass together.

I think Boruto should start out in his teen years dating Sumire but then at the end up marrying Sarada in the future. I think Boruto and Sarada are meant to be together. Boruto being somewhat connected to the Senju clan and Sarada being an Uchiha would make a beautiful love story.
Or maybe theyll kill her off. They have to kill someone from the generation just like how they killed Neji. I dont see anyone else dying in the new generation that would have a big impact like if she got killed. Maybe she dies trying to save Boruto from Jigen.

Until now, when we are close to time skip, we barely see them together or any romantic kind or scene between them. unlike Naruto and Hinata, but Boruto wants to be like Sasuke really different from Naruto. and so far in the manga, we don't have any clue about them and on top of that boruto's novel is keep pointing towards Sarada ending up with boruto.

I respect both sides in terms of people who favor BoruSumi and BoruSara. Personally, I like the idea of Boruto being with Sumire rather than Sarada. It’s not because I don’t like Sarada as a character when, on the contrary, she’s one of my top 3 favorite characters of the new generation. However, I don’t see her and Boruto having a stable romantic relationship.
Between Boruto and Sarada, Sarada reflects more personality of both her parents than Boruto: she’s quick tempered like Sakura and Sasuke, she’s very analytical of situations like Sasuke, and is very studious like Sasuke as well. However, another quality of Sarada that she embodies a lot from both of her parents is her stubbornness. Sarada comes across as being relatively serious yet chill, but she’s also very stubborn when it comes to doing something that she believes in. This though causes her to risk her safety at times. What’s more, it causes her to clash with other people, as shown by the frequent little arguments she has with Boruto. Boruto himself is equally if not even more stubborn than Sarada in everything in life. If Sarada were to pursue a romantic relationship with Boruto: it wouldn’t be a true romance relationship. Naruto Explained did a video on Naruto and Sakura once and explained that the those two’s personalities would frequently clash, preventing any sort of romantic moments between the two often. The same can be said for Boruto and Sarada: the two of them would frequently clash, albeit not serious, but butt heads and prevent any romance.
What’s more, the two’s future goals also clash. Sarada wants to be the Hokage and we’ve all seen how that went with Naruto and his family. And Boruto wants to become a ninja like Sasuke who protects the village from the outside which, as we’ve seen with Sasuke and his family isn’t the best career choice. Naruto and Sasuke are distant from their families due to their responsibilities but are only able to still come and enjoy their company with them because their wives and kids remain stationary in the village. If Boruto and Sarada were to get together, they would have little to no time together which would no doubt cause a rift in the relationship. Oh and I already know too that many people want to see how powerful a Hyuga/Uchiha/Uzumaki child would be as well which, in my opinion, would be too too overpowered.
Sumire on the other hand is different. Sumire is very sweet, shy, and bashful a lot but is still strong willed and brave when needed to be. Her personality compliments Boruto’s perfectly, just like Naruto and Hinata. If Sumire were to pursue a relationship with Boruto, the two would be able to enjoy each other’s company a lot more romantically. Also, Sumire would no doubt want to remain stationary within the village which make their relationship similar to Sasuke and Sakura’s: distant, yet possible. Also, a BoruSumi child would still be extremely powerful and extremely cool (I’d love to see an Uzumaki child with blonde hair and violet eyes).
So like I said before I’m good either way with how Kichimoto wants to go with Boruto’s romance life. Personally, I feel a truly romantic relationship is more possible for Boruto and Sumire rather than Boruto and Sarada.

Honestly,Boruto and Sarada are kinda cliche for me since,Friend and Friend have kids and the kids might as well go together,that kind of stuff. Feel like Boruto and Sumire might be more interesting.
But that's just me....
I thought for a while there was a chance for Boruto and Sumire given her similarity to Hinata. I do think a sort of love triangle may even form, however, I think ultimately Boruto will end up with Sarada simply because of the foreshadowing for those characters, and the fact that Boruto can become Sarada's "Sasuke" when it comes to leading the village. My only concern with those 2 is the responsibility that will fall on them as a pair. Boruto doing the village dirty work and Sarada becoming hokage... their children would basically not have parents at all. But that's irrelevant as I envision the manga will wrap up this whole story with the end of Boruto. Maybe in 10 to 15 yrs, it will resurrect like Dragon Ball with a whole new purpose and premise, but I think it will be done after Boruto.
The thing is, the only way I can see BoruSara happening, is if Neither becoming Hokage or if Boruto becomes Hokage otherwise it would not work out storywise. Realistically they are ultimately going in two separate directions so I don't know how they would write them together. Also I disagree with the fact the Sumire is equal to or the same as Hinata because its clearly not true for numerous reasons and don't count out for Boruto ending up with Sumire because of these reasons
1. Sumire was the first developed character in the anime(the first 15 episodes was a whole Sumire mini arc, she as of right now is one of the handful of new gen characters to have been given an entire arc): Being the first developed character in a Shounen anime means a lot of things ESPECIALLY if its a girl, it means she will play a large part within the anime as it goes on as well as romantically(also this was before this happens in the manga but you guessed it, as after this-later in the manga there is a love triangle and they even have a manga cover of Sumire and Sarada confirming it), we see how Kishimoto foreshadowed Hinata an Naruto in part 1 by doing 'the little things', we can also see the foreshadowing of Sumire throughout the anime and manga
2. Please skim through Boruto episode two(where Boruto fights Iwabe), throughout the episode at the end of the episode both Sumire and Sarada have their own way of showing they were worried about him in their own way. Sumire has always, especially in the manga, made her intentions clear in liking Boruto where if Sarada even likes Boruto, which she lowkey does, she's keeping it close to her chest both in the anime and in the manga. Basically both have had a crush on Boruto since the beginning of the story.
3. In the second to last episode of the first Boruto arc, I think it may be episode 15 of Boruto but idk not only does Boruto take a Kunei making sure she isn't injured in the Mitsuki fight, she also disperses the curse away from her when she attempts to 'commit suicide' thinking she is a lost cause-when all is crumbling down around Sumire and she remembers her mothers vision of wishing she find happiness, and at the moment Sumire stares at Boruto as soon as her mother's wish of her finding happiness ends,(coincidence...I think not) who stays with her as the dimension is crumbling down and takes her hand refusing to leave her behind and saying things can still go back to normal, in which they ride the Nue together to escape. This could foreshadow that Boruto embodies the happiness that Sumire will have as he broke the shackles of her demise an fate and this ties into my next point
4. This is incredible foreshadowing overall, Boruto and Sumire have similar fate plot dynamics, where Sumire was fated to forever hate and destroy the village and Boruto is fated to "lose it all". Boruto broke Sumire's fate but his will be much harder to break, which is why Sumire will remind him when all is dark about who he really is, much like how Hinata did in Shippudden when Naruto would doubt his ninja way. Not only that in the recent Jugo arc Boruto was the one who opened Sumire's eyes of joining the ninja research team- as she was giving up on her fading connection with the Nue but then decided after hearing Boruto to fight to become the person she want's to be. Again if I tie this back into the Naruto and Hinata plot dynamics, Naruto always influenced Hinata and Boruto is doing the same with Sumire.
5. In the last episode of the Boruto arc, and even throughout the first Boruto arc, Boruto constantly blames himself for Sumire being in her situation feeling responsible, this portrays that Boruto DOES care about Sumire and has shown to countless times, he does also show care for Sarada however with Sumire it seems more 'romantically' whereas with Sarada it comes of as a brother/sister relationship. Also when Sumire returns to the academy, Boruto approaches to greet her, but her classmates surround her, from a distance though she's seems more focused on Boruto and stares at him, after giving her a thumbs up, she cries, further showing the connection between the two.
6. Naruto and Hinata had similar plot dynamics as in their respective ways both were cast aside, deemed useless(Naruto with everyone and Hinata by her entire family even her little sister)and lonely. In fact Hinata was rather weak for a Hyuga but that was mostly due to her soft and kind nature but through watching Naruto she decided to be more brave, more fierce and work harder and not let anybody bring her down. Respectfully, Boruto and Sarada don't have any intertwining plot dynamics which is a main clue for the relationship of the MC and the final love interest where Sumire is heavily inspired by Boruto.
7. Respectively, as it currently stands, it makes more sense BoruSumi might not be the most popular, but it makes more sense than BoruSara
8. For further proof of my points read the Sumire Boruto chapter(just google which one it is) as you'll clearly see where they both stand and also watch the Hanabi Boruto Shippuden 'fillers'(it's canon content though) and its only two episodes, it shows and further proves the relationship between Hinata and Naruto and why Hinata fell for Naruto and the way in which it makes sense in Sumire's case
9. Naruto and Sakura were HEAVILY teased on ending up together but he did not end up with her, they were also the most popular ship in Naruto(besides Naruto and Sasuke lol), my point is being the most poplar ship does not mean that BoruSara will actually happen
10. Sumire is brave, a good leader not only in her team but when she was the class rep, Sumire is actually strong enough to compete with Mituski who is the strongest new gen in the leaf rn, I honestly will say Hinata is the opposite of this,because I love Hinata ill just leave it at that, I really don't want to drag her but just because you can argue that they look and have some similar traits does not mean that they are similar.
Again at the end of the day BoruSara still may happen, but, if you look at the writing and bread crumbs and follow how the Naruto characters where shipped, the chances of BoruSumi are higher because they are easier to write. There are more reasons why I don't want them to end up together but these are reasons why I think they won't. At the end of the day, it's obvious the writers favour Sumire whilst the fans favour Sarada.

I do intend to read it and may revisit this conversation, but i do 100% agree there have been bread crumbs. There's also the one where Sumire works on ninja tech and Boruto rejects it after what happened before the momoshiki fight. That could end up causing a rift between he and Sumire. Of course the parallel between her inability to adequately control Nue and Naruto's inability to control Kurama creates another plot point that can bring them together.

I truly believe Boruto will end up with Sarada with her being hokage simply because if there is a revival of this anime after Boruto, can you imagine the overpowered offspring of a 1/4 Uzumaki, 1/4 Uchiha, 1/4 Hyuga, 1/4 Haruno? Of course all abilities will be somewhat muted, but what dojutsu comes from that pairing? Of course the other side is that that character may be too overpowered, rendering all other characters of that generation useless... another reason to end up with Sumire I presume. Who knows. Honestly this anime don’t need pairings because i can all ready tell that the romance in Boruto is going to be just as forced as in Naruto.

Sumire openly vowed to become a great ninja ALL FOR BORUTO, which means if something like Boruto dying happens, it would mean the end of everything for her. Sarada doesn't seem like she feels the same way or further than having Boruto as her closest friend. If the confession time for Sumire comes, and Boruto knows thoroughly, he might get shy, but I'm pretty sure he'll confess the same thing. Now who will be with Sarada? Good question. RandomAir BGM nah I completely disagree if Boruto does end up with someone it will be sarada. They been hinting since Naruto 700. And if you read the boruto novel that was written by kodachi himself there's a lot of moments between Boruto and Sarada.

But for the novels: Canon or no ! They are not fillers. There is no fillers in Boruto's Anime, for example: Nue arc ( 1_14)/ Naruto Gaiden ( 19_23)/ The field trip arc (25_31 or 32 I think) They are all not fillers, and the same thing for Naruto Shinden. Cuz they are adopted from the novels, also Mitsuki arc and Jugo arc...
All events are linked together Anime/ Manga.

The novel of Boruto the movie is written by Kodachi, the same thing for the novel of Field trip The rest of the novels from Kishimoto. It's up to you, if you consider the novels as non-Canon! No problem, but there's no filler in Boruto's story, unlike Naruto ( part 1 and Shippuden)
