- Lake Street Dive is releasing a live album and concert film! The album and video will be available exclusively as an online download at www.lakestreetdive.com, starting on August 24, 2011.
The footage was shot this spring on one magical night at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA. The band was in great form, finishing up a month-long tour in front of a hometown crowd.
10 years later this looks great. Whoever shot and edited this...well done

caught these guys in Buffalo at one of the harbor shows, one of the greatest bands I've ever seen live. Tremendous playing across the board.

Absolutely worth the $10 for the full-length album / concert. If for nothing more than the Kurt Rambus-esque losing-the-warmup-pants that the bassist Bridget Kearney does at the beginning. It was better in person, but still. . .
Ahh, to be so all-knowing, so smug, and so wrong..... You listen to one tune because they have become hot and you can predict what this band will be....forever.... What a burden you must bear being the final word in popular music - all warm & snuggly in your little, unventilated box. There is no one out there that sounds like this band. They are creative, witty lyricists (yeah, they really aren't a cover band) and truly gifted musicians.

They've got chops.
I see and hear them much more as a pop band using strong elements of jazz, than "masturbatory jazz", but there are little dashes of a few other genres) as well (70's soul, even a little country) so I believe it's the mix of these things I find unique and boundary pushing. Sorry you don't see/hear it that way cause it's damn enjoyable.
if i like practice & practice to get back to my keyboard level of years ago maybe i can find a band like this to play in...they are great!

Anybody know where the entire film of this gig can be downloaded? This was a great performance by LSD … a lot of cool band energy going on. But I can only find a few of the videos from this original Lizard Lounge gig. Wish I'd know about LSD back when the film was available for d/l. Anyway … LSD is still a great/original/talented band! Thanks for the great music!

Some similarities to Winehouse but to call Price an imitator is cheap and shows no due diligence. She has a superior sense of line and pitch to Winehouse and has been singing longer than Amy and in this style. Price probably won't abuse herself to death either. Plus, the overall package is different while only the singing styles are similar. Regardless, as Quincy Jones famously said, "not only has everything in music already been done, it's been done twice." LSD and Price do it well.

Perhaps your "spontaneous reaction" does not need to be posted. My considered opinion is that Amy Winehouse was severely overrated and, while there is no accounting for taste, Ms.Price is technically head and shoulders above the dearly departed Ms. Winehouse in terms of pure vocal talent. Furthermore this is a band with a unique sound that is pushing limits not simply a gimmicky retro thing like Winehouse was peddling.
Can we still watch it anywhere? Just found it, but it's no longer on the website. :/
