Currently renting out half my house rooms and you’re not kidding about losing privacy and having more work to do. And really it winds up not being super profitable. I hate it, so now I’m looking for small or tiny. I think living in smaller separate units would be far better for everyone than all of us living in the same big home.
Hello! Thanks for watching. I can see where it could end up not being a huge profit from renting out a room. My guess it it's more profitable if you can build an ADU and charge a significant amount/ treat it more like an airbnb. Are you going to keep renting out the rooms?
I would live in an adu, but I'm more worried about being able to afford to live in one in Durham. Durham is a college town and quite expensive for low income people like myself. Most homes in Durham that are rentals are expensive. A lot of times several students rent one house so they will get their higher priced rentals rented. What price ranges are you seeing in the ads rentals in Durham?
That was really interesting! Thank you both for an outstanding conversation.

Are there any tiny house communities in Durham or Raleigh? I am looking to buy a park model home.
Hello! I'm not sure but I'd be happy to help you look. Send me an email! micthinkstiny@gmail.com.
