Everything was much more expensive to do. Music videos, albums, etc were much more expensive to make. I grew up in the 80's yet never saw this video until now. Seriously, so much fun! If those reading this have never listened to the whole album, seriously , it's a masterpiece! Just brilliant!
I loved this song when I was 15...Now? I am a 46 year-old with a 6 year old...I totally appreciate this in a new way...This is like the first song by a contemporary band that started doing kid's stuff...Like, later, They Might Be Giants did. Or, Barenaked Ladies...
The thing is, there was a sincerity they had that a lot of those later bands lacked. So many of them had an undercurrent of cynicism to them. These guys meant it (I mean, if you could figure out what the hell they were saying). The name of their next album after this was "The Adventures of Women and Men Without Hate in the 21st Century", so they weren't joking around. Thing is, that becomes your death knell if you also live in a cynical world, which is what the 90s was (which is part of why, as another example, someone Seal isn't more popular than he is despite consistently producing solid music), but I saw these guys live a few years ago, and they're just as awesome as they've ever been. And yeah, I'm close to your age (turning 49 soon), so we have the same twin perspectives on this. Now I have kids who were my age when this came out and I get to introduce them to it, and maybe they'll think their Dad's taste in music isn't so bad after all. :-)

It's ironic to me that so many boomers in the comments don't know what TF the song is about. JFC they're why we're all gonna die
@@dianamiller3307 We all die.
@@revokdaryl1 we would have had a few more years
Check out Weird Al's Christmas at Ground Zero
It's so impressive it's just two of them and not the whole band ,Ivan and Stephan.. another one of the brothers..💃❤️
Todos hoy en Argentina: OHHHH! VAMOS NIPON! NIPON! NIPON! VAMOS NIPON!!!
ooooooh, dale, dale oooohhhhh, dale ohhh, dale ooooh, dale, dale ooohhhh
Hoooo dale dale Boooo, dale Boooo, dale Booooo, dale dale Boooo, campeones otra vez 💙💛💙
I still don't understand why this wasn't a massive hit. Fun, silly, and a blast to sing along to.
I think it charted relatively high, if I recall. But IMO it is a better song than "Safety Dance," which was a massive hit. It's hard to predict those things!
This song was really popular in my college days, 1987. It was played a lot on MuchMusic which was always on the big screen in the student lounge.
I guess because we did not know back then if it was the J. Geil's Band, Daryl Hall, or John Mellencamp singing.
This song was in the top 20 on MTV for many weeks, but it never got much radio play.
Canadian bands in the 80s did not get much exposure.
As a kid, I loved this song. Was one of my favorites.
Holy moly! A FE video from the 80s! I grew up with this song and probably haven't seen this video since I was a child! I even got to see Ivan at the Super Ex Cool FM concert in the 90s. Awesome!
Truth In Plane Sight ♥
I ❤ this new wave music 🎵 Together with “Kazero ~ Thai Na Na and Trio ~ Da Da Da” 😅 Reminds me of my Teenage years 😊
Bien. Saludos.
This truly deserved to be just as big a hit, if not bigger, than The Safety Dance. Also a song that I can totally imagine Devo performing.
Every time I hear this song I am instantly transported back to 1987, driving down the road in my dad's '74 Impala, blasting the radio with the windows down!
Lmao. 😂 I had a GOLD '72 Chevy Impala
Hi pop goes the world love your music my friend's be safe out their peace 🌈💐💐🎆💕😇🙏🌟🎁🌟😘
I grew up in the 80's yet never saw this video until now. Seriously, so much fun! If those reading this have never listened to the whole album, seriously , it's a masterpiece! Just brilliant!
I am 34 years old and this is the first time I heard this song. And I love it...
Same here and I’ll be 52 on Christmas Eve
I forgot about this song,im so glad i rediscovered it now again
Gotta love 80s music out of Canada. 😊
I like this song better than Safety Dance
This song is my first in workout playlist, it really gets you into that upbeat mood...great song that is the perfect example of a great pop song!
I was born in 1970 and lived the big 80s in all its magic :))
Yeah me too😊😊😊
Me too we're blessed
