Yeah , lost 3 friends , my young sister and my dad, in 1980 I turned 13 and for the next 10 years life was awesome, free , fun at school, parties as a teenager, freedom from danger , death , anxiety and awesome friends...Now life has changed for the world
I had the melody for this rattling around in my brain for literally decades with no song or band to attach to it. I was starting to think I just imagined hearing it. Then one day it played when I was listening to an 80's station. It blew my mind.
Holy moly! A FE video from the 80s! I grew up with this song and probably haven't seen this video since I was a child! I even got to see Ivan at the Super Ex Cool FM concert in the 90s. Awesome!
I loved this song when I was 15...Now? I am a 46 year-old with a 6 year old...I totally appreciate this in a new way...This is like the first song by a contemporary band that started doing kid's stuff...Like, later, They Might Be Giants did. Or, Barenaked Ladies...
The thing is, there was a sincerity they had that a lot of those later bands lacked. So many of them had an undercurrent of cynicism to them. These guys meant it (I mean, if you could figure out what the hell they were saying). The name of their next album after this was "The Adventures of Women and Men Without Hate in the 21st Century", so they weren't joking around. Thing is, that becomes your death knell if you also live in a cynical world, which is what the 90s was (which is part of why, as another example, someone Seal isn't more popular than he is despite consistently producing solid music), but I saw these guys live a few years ago, and they're just as awesome as they've ever been. And yeah, I'm close to your age (turning 49 soon), so we have the same twin perspectives on this. Now I have kids who were my age when this came out and I get to introduce them to it, and maybe they'll think their Dad's taste in music isn't so bad after all. :-)
Every time I hear this song I am instantly transported back to 1987, driving down the road in my dad's '74 Impala, blasting the radio with the windows down!
I grew up in the 80's yet never saw this video until now. Seriously, so much fun! If those reading this have never listened to the whole album, seriously , it's a masterpiece! Just brilliant!

@@balikhartum6179 Right up there with The Beatles, apparently...
@@Nick_TV_Producer don’t forget The Rolling Stones too
@@balikhartum6179 plus other good non hits
But yeah get your point
Saw them last night with Honeymoon Suite and the Spoons. Great to see a feel-good band. Great show by all.
Honeymoon Suite? They had that awesome song I Gotta New Girl Now... Cool
I LOVE THIS SONG. It brings joy to my soul.
Hi from Uruguay, thanks for the music 🍀🍁🎶
I've played this song everyday since 1987
I play it whenever I have my Mp3 on.
Dick Blister liar
I bet you haven't.
Music selection at the hospital must be minimal.
But RUclips was created in 2006
My teenage years!!! 😍 I used to sing along with it. ❤❤❤
Gotta love 80s music out of Canada. 😊

Bien. Saludos.
"Everytime i wonder where the world went wrong".so relevant for today! 1987 was tame compared to now.
80’s!!! Best decade!
Yeah , lost 3 friends , my young sister and my dad, in 1980 I turned 13 and for the next 10 years life was awesome, free , fun at school, parties as a teenager, freedom from danger , death , anxiety and awesome friends...Now life has changed for the world
この曲はサッカー日本代表の応援曲として使われております。そのため日本人のほとんどが聞いたことがあります。

Tantos años, muchísimos que no escuchaba esta canción y hasta me dio sentimiento 🥺
I remember this song when my niece was born .... She turned 37 years old yesterday 😊
I had the melody for this rattling around in my brain for literally decades with no song or band to attach to it. I was starting to think I just imagined hearing it. Then one day it played when I was listening to an 80's station. It blew my mind.
80th ...best Music time of my life!!!!!!! missing so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
80s, 80s, What did you do to us?
😍😍😍
This truly deserved to be just as big a hit, if not bigger, than The Safety Dance. Also a song that I can totally imagine Devo performing.
DATE WITH AN ANGEL BROUGHT ME HERE....WONDERFUL CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE 80'S...THIS SONG WAS PLAYED
Holy moly! A FE video from the 80s! I grew up with this song and probably haven't seen this video since I was a child! I even got to see Ivan at the Super Ex Cool FM concert in the 90s. Awesome!
Truth In Plane Sight ♥
Ivan is incredible here. Such a great performance!
this song always cheers me up when I am depressed.
Thank you for creating such a nice song.
Something is very wrong. That is NOT the song I remember hearing
Every time I hear this song I am instantly transported back to 1987, driving down the road in my dad's '74 Impala, blasting the radio with the windows down!
Lmao. 😂 I had a GOLD '72 Chevy Impala
Men Without Hats are phenomenal!!
~Dutch
This has to be the funnest music video. Omg I’ve never had a song make me laugh so hard
La publicidad de la cerveza me trajo aca 🇦🇷
A mí igual😂
I grew up in the 80's yet never saw this video until now. Seriously, so much fun! If those reading this have never listened to the whole album, seriously , it's a masterpiece! Just brilliant!
J'ai passé mon adolescence avec ce groupe originaire de Montréal et je les écoute encore.
and how many ppl listen to the 80s music over and over lmao
There's something about the sound of those old 80's 90's keyboards that make these songs stand out!!!
Music from the 80's were the best and even their music videos I wish I had a time machine to go and revisit the 80's and meet myself as kid.
I never knew this was by Men Without Hats. I always assumed Safety Dance was their one hit wonder. I'm glad I was wrong.
Mee too
Unfortunately this wasn't a big hit around the world. Except in my home country Austria it was Nr. 1 some time and got some heavy airplay for some time in the year of 1988, thus making it a childhood memory of mine.
@@NewHorizons1980 It was popular here in Canada in the 80s, I remember hearing it all the time on the radio, and this video was on shows like Video Hits all the time.
