But on the other hand, the marketing and hype machine put so much money into CC to push the WNBA in the mainstream. I do think both sides are being exploited and race/racism is what’s selling the product into relevance; in which no good outcome comes out of it. Example: take Bird vs Magic. They had a true rivalry. Was race a factor? To a minor degree, yes. But was it more about competition between both the Lakers v Celtics? Yes and that’s what sold the game to fans. CC needs to take the Larry Bird route and just stfu about race, play ball, talk shit and just talk about competing.
