I own this and you're the first reviewer/logical person I've seen break down the price. I did the same when deciding to buy and adjusting for $ per nm, this set up is about a $25 premium over a hypothetical Fanatec 11nm base and R300 wheel (double clutches). I consider that very acceptable. As for the looks, I race in VR. Problem solved! That said, I agree in totality. The Logitech drives well and feels extremely good. Prefer a new wheel, so excited to see what's to come.
It really all depends on whether you're able to convince yourself that the features it has are absolutely worth the money and whether you wanted those features to begin with. If we're being honest, 90% of sim racers stick to the 5-8 Nm range and don't need more to drive consistently. Some will explore higher than that, but personally, I think I'm part of the majority that doesn't need anymore than that. If you're using your CSL DD and thinking 'this would be perfect with more Nm headroom and i'm willing to pay for it', then you got your wish. I'm just not sure the simracing community applauded uproariously because this thing has clutch pedals. It's a neat feature, but necessary? Probably not, so comparing it to a Fanatec rim and universal hub assumes that people need it in the first place. If you're a person who needs it due to a disability it's a godsend, but most simracers aren't hurting over having a wheel without secondary clutch pedals there. You're also not considering that there's literally no ecosystem at this time. When there are release dates for alternate rims, let's talk about whether it's worth it then, but you don't have any alternatives at this time. No release date for open wheel, GT3, or wider rim than the standard wheel it comes with. There's also a matter of reviewers sticking to iRacing, AC or ACC, and MAYBE Automobilista 2 and nothing else. There are a handful of people with this wheel complaining that it doesn't work with RaceRoom. This wheel has to go through the stress test of hundreds or thousands of simracers using it and being able to iron out some of the issues everyday users have with the wheel. All this said, I'd love to purchase this wheel and have my eye on its sale price, but there are multiple reasons as to why the price tag is just a tad too high to instantly catapult it ahead of a Fanatec, Moza, or Sim Magic. I don't doubt that it's a fantastic wheel, but their concerns are valid.

I have trouble with games like F1 2022 with separate wheel and pedals setup so it prefers all-in-one connections like Fanatec and Thrustmaster have. Is this Logitech Pro wheel capable of that because I can't see any RJ connectors on the back?
For Logitech pro pedals it’s USB to the wheel but that’s proprietary and will only allow you to connect Logitech pro peripherals of which there aren’t any others at the moment. I got the wheel and pedals and I love them - no issues - they’re not cheap but premium product in my opinion and they’re probably gonna outlast me 😂🤪
@@MrNeilRoberts I pulled the trigger on both too and arriving tomorrow. Since there's 3 USBs on the back my guess is they will bring a shifter and a handbrake out too.
Looks like the plastic housing is to seal the cooling fan around the unit compared to a Fanatec that is air cooled with a heat sink housing. Better to have a plastic housing than a plastic wheel mount/quick release. Also, you complain about many things about this wheel, then say it is the best unit you have?
Personally I don't get the complaints about the look. It is a lot chonkier than most drives, but it also looks like a piece of consumer equipment, where most all of the other drives look like industrial machinery to me. Maybe it's because they remind me of motors on equipment in places I've worked before, but they just don't have that finished aesthetic that the G PRO has. And the plastic isn't cheap looking, and I know it's just covering up an unsightly motor. It's why I chose this one over say, the Fanatec.
Except for the true force. I own this wheel and turn it off. It's not good. Feels so unnatural. I'm just shocked that reviewers are saying how good it is. I know opinions and preferences are subjective, but with my own actual experience using it, I find it hard to believe that any reviewers giving their actual opinion would say how great true force is.
Currently use a T300RS, Heusinkveld Sprints, Aiologs shifter and handbrake, along with a drivehub on PS5 for GT7 and PSVR2. Can anyone confirm if I swapped out my T300 RS for this G Pro wheel (Playstation version) that the pedals, shifter, handbrake will all still be compatible??? I can't see why not as I'd have thought the wheelbase would just act as a pass through in/out of the drivehub , same as my T300 RS. Don't want the hassle of buying it to find out it won't!! Just want to make sure it will work natively with the Trueforce etc.
Would you happen to know how to get the rev lights working with ACC and AMS2? I can use the original AC and they work no problem. I can get the rev lights to work with the other 2
ACC has a bug - you can fix this by going to the control options screen and then straight back out to the car and the RPM LEDs will work then. AMS2 needs an update (or you can switch the wheel to its G923 compatibility mode and that gets it working too).
I own a thrustmaster t300 at the moment. Is de differce big to a dd wheel? I'm playing at ps5 and pc I've read, it's not so big for a casual player. Not a pro 🤣😜
I upgraded from the t300. The thing I noticed straight away when using the g pro was just how good the t300 was, it provides all the feedback you need and doesn't limit you in anyway. The other thing I noticed is that IMO 11nm is basically useless, the wheel becomes heavy to the point that it makes no sense to use it that way, i turned it down to 5nm and it was more than enough. I really don't think increasing strength of force feedback really provides any additional advantages. I upgraded since I got a good deal, but at full price it definitely isn't something you need if you already own a t300 and it's working great for you.
Ughhh. That makes for a pricey investment if you have to purchase the pro pedals also. For the time being, I think I will go with a Fanatec . A bit cheaper and their customer service is heads and shoulders above Logitech. Thanks for the reply and the great review.

The pricing is so much above the g923 😐 Logitech should have a model with direct drive between the g pro and g923. Like a g924DD not as strong as the g pro in the same housing as the g923 (and same pedals as the g923).
I’ve just realised why it’s plastic and looks like the G29 - people without a wheel see pro racers using this at GT7 events and think the cheaper wheels are the same. It’s a promotion of their mass market cheap wheels. Very clever Logitech
I have been waiting for a new Logitech wheel has been a while, but when I saw the price here in Canada $1860 after taxes for the bundle I was shocked. I have to strongly disagree about the price, it's outrageous expensive for what it is. I decided then to keep my G923 and bought a DOF Reality P3 (motion simulator). What a great choice. Now I can say that sim racing is AWESOME! I don't think this overpriced wheel could give me anything near as much fun as I am having with the simulator.
Great review Mike as always. I'm currently on PS5 & Xbox Series X, so I'll most likely upgrade to a Fanatec base/wheel/LC pedal combo. Great informative review as always. I think that Logitech primarily targeted present Logitech users wanting to upgrade to direct drives, with their design and it does look like G29's bigger brother. I totally agree with your view regarding pricing considering the strength, console compatibility, wheel including analogue paddles, software and total unmatched performance according to most reviewers. The only competition (with console compatibility) that come close is Fanatec's CSL DD but unfortunately they are presently out of stock. I personally have shopping carts from Logitech, Fanatec, Moza and Simagic waiting for the final click to order, I have decided to wait for a few more months for Thrustmaster to see what they have to offer. In the meantime, my G29 will have to do as it has been doing for the last 3 years.🙂
i have podium dd1 and reversed pedal set. it is shit. it worked 2/5 times when i open my sim pc every once a while. I dont have a lot of time to mess with it. I went back to g9x logitech. Plug and play is what I need.
You gotta think that the size of the base has something to do with the design of the motor. I really don’t mind the size or material at all. I’m waiting to see if they release a formula style wheel as an accessory. If they do, they have my $$$.
Also, the wideness of the base is likely to support those 11nm in a desk clamp configuration. A narrow base wouldn’t provide as much support, so they’re likely thinking of folks outside of the rig setup.
@@RyKnocks perhaps. But again, others in the business have overcome these engineering issues. And I’m not trying to dump on Logitech; they’ve made an amazing wheel here, but I think they’ve done themselves a disservice with the wheelbase design being what it is.
@@SimRacing604 The worse part of the design is how tall it is and only option to base mount. Makes it hard to get a screen right behind the wheel without the screen sitting too high relative to your eyes.

USB Micro? You gotta be kidding me, that is the most idiotic cost cutting ever. I've had too many female USB micro devices go bad to buy a very expensive device with that kind of connection...which stinks because the rest of this product sounds great. I'll buy a competitor or wait for the next version, which will, hopefully, have USB-C. Thanks for a wonderful review!!
What the hell, why would you buy a 400 wheel for a csl dd when there are 129 wheels at fanatec store? Or I bought a used fanatec wheel for 90. Where's the logic. I got a csl dd without the boost kit plus the used wheel and it costed 440 total plus 35 shipping. Good deal. And i'll buy the boost kit. Logitech dd is the best but it's expensive.
I don't agree with your price assessment, compared to the csl dd. Most of us with the Fanatec base bought a $200 wheel for it, not a $400 one. I actually got the cheap BMW branded wheel for $140. Then later bought the csl universal hub and put my own $50 rim on it. Again for about $200 but now I have two wheels for the base. Logitech price is out of whack for a plastic cased wheel. I get it is 11 NM and my Fanatec is only 8 but for $1000 I would be looking at the other brands like the Accuforce would be a massive leap forward for a small price increase.
@@stevep927 yeah a lot of people have said that. But I am half deaf so I always wear headphones and I have tons of space under my rig to tuck that power supply away. I don't plan to buy one, I prefer all the accessories available from Fanatec and Fanatec has good game compatibility.
Not on your best day would I choose that over a Moza R9. Much more expensive...and plastic? Ask yourself,... What will the bearing supports look like in a few months after harnessing that eleven Nm of torque?
Only the outer shell is plastic, it bears zero mechanical load/feature other than to provide cover for internals. Load bearing chassis, motor, shafts, QR are all made of high quality metal.
All that talk at the beginning about PS & XBOX compatibility, then basically crickets from that point on about the pedals (which you MUST use for console until someone makes an adaptor). Several reviews have not been very kind to those at the price point.

I don't have an Xbox or PS4/5. Which version should I buy?
Pr1ck
Would you happen to know how to get the rev lights working with ACC and AMS2? I can use the original AC and they work no problem. I can get the rev lights to work with the other 2
I don’t know, unfortunately. I’ve had the same inconsistencies
ACC has a bug - you can fix this by going to the control options screen and then straight back out to the car and the RPM LEDs will work then. AMS2 needs an update (or you can switch the wheel to its G923 compatibility mode and that gets it working too).
What is the TGT made of?
Excellent review. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Is this available overseas
Great review 👍🏻
i love how big the base is. Feels very real. just like my actual car
You have a really small car
those paddle shifters r so loud
Is there a way to connect g923 pedals. I don’t see the proper connector on the wheel
I don’t believe there is, no
Ughhh. That makes for a pricey investment if you have to purchase the pro pedals also. For the time being, I think I will go with a Fanatec . A bit cheaper and their customer service is heads and shoulders above Logitech. Thanks for the reply and the great review.
@@lancehunziker5725 thanks for the kind feedback! You’ll love the Fanatec as well. Happy racing!
@@SimRacing604 In a very odd turn of events Logitech just announced an adapter to allow mix and match with its wheels and pedals. I must be able to see into the future, I’m getting some lottery tickets. Heck with a sim, I’ll buy an actual car.
To anyone who might see this. Be very, very, very, carful ordering any thing from Logitech. I ended up ordering a wheel and adapter from them. Both showed in stock and ready to ship, however after I paid I get a note saying that my order has been indefinitely delayed. No explanation, just indefinitely delayed. Since then I have been trying to cancel my order, but it is impossible to get hold of a living person. Bottom line is that they basically stole my $1100.00 with no intention of ever shipping anything
I’m going to run around my neighborhood with my Lg pro base so I can appreciate the design flow
I had Simucube 2 Pro. No need for that much nm, the 11 is absolutely fine.
but we have no shifter to pair with this?
Paddles
Its funny cuz fanatec makes a metal base but plastic wheel? Lol i prefer the base be plastic, long as its solid why does it matter what material was used. The steering wheel however, logitech has the best wheel ive seen tbh. Also LOL, after sounding like a pretty negative review, this is your new favorite wheel 😂😂
I think the DD market is going to be about eco system now there is more competition
I bought the set, wheel/pedals, last week for $715 total its probably worth it for 1/2 the price and 11Nm compared to CSL DD 8Nm.
Where can I get this deal?
@@drazenbudis7881 it's used, employee discount, or dark parking lot discount - Black Friday is still only $138 off and it is only available from Logitech rn. Plus maybe the 5% code from one of the Pro reviews will stack, didn't try that.
@@chriseich1978 wanna sell it?
@@PeteV80 still using it surprisingly enough, don't tell anyone I put it on a Challenge doh. I'd probably check out Moza if I started over, they came out with a pretty decent DD starter set. If you're not dying for a clutch pedal at least.
The pricing is so much above the g923 😐
Logitech should have a model with direct drive between the g pro and g923.
Like a g924DD not as strong as the g pro in the same housing as the g923 (and same pedals as the g923).
I got the dd pro bundle from Fanatec for 850 that’s wheel and base and pedals I thought for that price it was a good deal
Same here... i tried moza R9 and this and Logitech is soooo much better :)
Thanks for the feedback, I was considering the R9.
plastic? will it shatter?
Don’t think so
What do you plan on doing with yours?
I’ve just realised why it’s plastic and looks like the G29 - people without a wheel see pro racers using this at GT7 events and think the cheaper wheels are the same. It’s a promotion of their mass market cheap wheels. Very clever Logitech
Top tier review man.
:) thanx for review but I love simplicity of the fanatec dd cube is amazing and preety to me :), not so much moza but its ok
Yes it would. It's a good price with pedals. The simucube Pro is more than that for base alone. Expensive hobby.
HOW TO GET ONE IN CANADA????? CANT FIND ANY!!!!
I don't mind the wheel's looks. I'm driving in VR 95% of the time.
I think this wheel looks great ! Base , not so much but its not that bad🤘🏼🏁
Would u sell ur gt Dd pro for this? I only have it a month 😂
No, definitely not. FFB is better on the Logitech in my opinion, but the Fanatec wheel lineup is much better
Thank you Logitech for leaving some play space for other companies. That's the way I see it.
How so ?
Great review Mike as always. I'm currently on PS5 & Xbox Series X, so I'll most likely upgrade to a Fanatec base/wheel/LC pedal combo. I need the wheel to work with both consoles until I upgrade to a gaming PC in the future. The Logitech looks like a quality product, but missed the mark on a few key areas. God bless and race on 👍😎🏁
What key areas?
@@BobK58 Styling and price. But, your mileage may vary. I really like their products. I am no Fanatec fanboy and currently have a Thrustmaster wheel and pedals. I need a wheel/pedal set that can do both PS5 & Xbox that doesn't break the bank.
@@BobK58 plastic
When Logi comes out with the rims, Xbox rim can work on PS DD, no different than what Fanatec does now.
@@fifiracingtoo I will definitely give it a look when that happens. I like what I see so far.
Great review.. one day I will get to try a DD wheel..
It’s a game changer. VR and direct drive are the biggest jumps I’ve taken in immersion
@@SimRacing604 VR racing is awesome. I need a better seat though, imagine VR motion sim, uggghhh.. *chefs kiss* or motion sickness lol, idk, willing to try. Lol
Can you tell me before I buy I had the G923 before selling it very worried as as well had the gt7 dd from fanatec and was a dream till I moved on I am back now you say the wheel is not rattle or shaky in your views please
With regards to true force feedback
Where's the PC only version?? 😆 🤣
Lots of competitors these days.
Expensive hobby regardless whose gear you choose/favor
Both versions work with PC
@@stevep927 Steve's a little slow lol
The only bad thing about it is how it looks. I always play VR so… I’ll give it a try
I really like the wheel. The other compamies GT rims always look like a toy .I just ordered mine and the pedals are on sale atm @262 so good time to buy.
My pedals were $262 and I ordered mine on day one
@@stevep927 yes my bad 262 .It's odd it said 349.99 until I went to my basket then it changed
Much of the space is hollow though. If you look at the front corners, which is the widest point of the base, they are hollow
@@malgrif091 good point
You can convert your ps base to xbox just by throwing on the xbox wheel btw [Doesnt work the other way if you have an xbox base]
Damn there's a guy nearby selling the Xbox version but I need ps
Excuse my ignorance here, but why buy an X box wheel. Honest question.
I'm keen on Forza Motorsport, but have Playstation 5 and G PRO with PS/PC wheel.
Console games, I think, are piorotised/optimised for their native platforms from my understanding
I love GT7 with VR2, and would also like to try Fora Motorsport.i hate PC!
An X Box wheel, whilst being able to be used on my G-Pro base, does not mean I can use my PS, tho?
I really would rather buy an X Box, but then I would have to buy an X Box wheel for my G Pro
Did I say I hate PCs? 😅
What an awesome review! Thank you for your extremely thorough review. Just one question, which F1 game were you testing in your review? It looked awesome…
Thanks so much for the kind words. And the sim is Automobilista 2
@@SimRacing604 Wow, I bought that game, along with all the season passes when it came out; and I have to say I've not regretted my decision since... Again, you are awesome bro. I am just about to buy this wheel, based off your review (and quite a lot of research).
@@SimRacing604 P.S. I just subscribed to your channel. Hope it helps you - you deserve it mate :)
@@lpcoolee thanks again for the kind words! You’re going to love the new wheel
Perhaps because the 400 dollar wheels are better than the 129 dollar ones
I don't agree with your price assessment, compared to the csl dd. Most of us with the Fanatec base bought a $200 wheel for it, not a $400 one. I actually got the cheap BMW branded wheel for $140. Then later bought the csl universal hub and put my own $50 rim on it. Again for about $200 but now I have two wheels for the base.
Logitech price is out of whack for a plastic cased wheel. I get it is 11 NM and my Fanatec is only 8 but for $1000 I would be looking at the other brands like the Accuforce would be a massive leap forward for a small price increase.
Does the $200 wheel have magnetic shifters and analog paddles?
@@SimRacing604 lol no. I have a 7 speed shifter, never use the paddles except in game menus. I am a rally racer and truck sim driver.
The Accuforce is good but the gigantic power supply with the loud fan made me stay away
@@stevep927 yeah a lot of people have said that. But I am half deaf so I always wear headphones and I have tons of space under my rig to tuck that power supply away.
I don't plan to buy one, I prefer all the accessories available from Fanatec and Fanatec has good game compatibility.
The base has two hole on each side of base could have lost those on each side of base would have been 6in slimmer lol
Csl elite pedals v2, formula v2.5 and csl dd 8nm are cheaper together than this wheel😅
Not on your best day would I choose that over a Moza R9. Much more expensive...and plastic?
Ask yourself,... What will the bearing supports look like in a few months after harnessing that eleven Nm of torque?
It’s been out for months (and the test units for far longer) and there are no reports of damage.
All that rain, sleet, snow you take in the Sim. At least it won't rust.
@@fifiracingtoo lol. I get a lot of road salt/de-icer on my rig, so Logitech might be right for me
Only the outer shell is plastic, it bears zero mechanical load/feature other than to provide cover for internals.
“All that talk”
If you’re spending 1000 Lloyd a wheel, I would hope you’re putting it on a racing rig
Still no F1 Wheel
For this price the housing could be carbon
And as usual... not available in South Africa. Even tho Logitech is officially in the country.
Oh no! That stinks. That’s a problem with Logitech not using distributors for this, I suppose
@@SimRacing604 yup I think it's exactly that. Oh well. We wait to see what Thrustmaster cooks up on the 17th.
your dashboard in your car is made of plastic even in 1 million dollar hypercars
i completely disagree with everyone on this. plastic is great.
So Logitech is a huge company but there’s still no accessories for this? And there’s nothing about Logitech even working on anything here.
Seems like Logitech really dropped the ball with this.
"...these go to 11"
plastic gross
Simucube also uses plastic in their wheelbase
