It's funny how I see so many people on here calling it overpriced crap, but with every review that I've seen, the reviewers, who actually have one, love it. They say it even performs just as good, if not better than the higher priced options. One reviewer, boosted media, even thinks the quality of the plastic is better than some of the metal housings on other brands. I myself will probably buy one because of all the good reviews it has gotten. I have yet to see a negative review! To those looking to buy one, I would listen to the people who actually have one, and not the people making speculative comments because they want everyone to believe what they have, or what they are a fan of, is the best. Often times people knock other things to make themselves feel better about what the already own!
There's merrit to it being overpriced but for 999 you get the motor and wheel, where as, say, the equivilant fanatec motor and wheel combo, you get the 8nm motor for 500 and a cheap wheel for 150, or an equal wheel for 400, totalling 900 anyway. Very close price range, and i know which brand i'd trust more for reliability
Agree. But keep in mind UK reviewers. I bought my G Pro wheel and pedals for a little over 1K USD, but if I were in the UK Logitech would want 1.7K for the exact same thing.

One more thing, you don't really need a handbrake to learn how to drift, but certainly helps a lot, just remember to kick the clutch while you pull the handbrake. Drifting is hard to learn but very rewarding, once you learn it, it's like riding a bicycle, you will never forget!
Also, in ac overinflate your rear tires to help a bit more with the loss of traction. You dont have to go fast to drift, you can even ride the brakes a bit... the flow will come with practice. IF you ever get into VR, you'll be feeling like a driftking, as all the inputs to create the sideways movement on the screen will transfer much easier through your eyes in a set of goggles. Good luck on nailing those combo's once you get the basics done. Remember, it's the balance between your hands and feet, that keep a car in balance.

This DD wheel costs 1300 euros (base and pedals). When you can get this combo for 970 euros from fanatec the only think is that this whell it has a bit lower torque.
Are you speaking of the 8NM one? If so its a fair bit of torque difference so if you want their more powerful direct drive, , its about $300 difference for the unit, so it kind of puts it in line with this pricing - thought the fanatec then has more torque - but basically this in the middle somewhere.
You can get that combo with the worst dd wheel on the market, and the cheapest pos basic wheel on the market, and good pedals. Who would have guessed that buying worse products for a lower price would cost less?
The Fanatec pedals/wheel in that combo suck. No load cell, no Trueshock, less torque, inferior button layout. You'll end up paying more for a proper Fanatec setup.
What happens for example in GT7 if I set the max torque to 5/10 and on the wheel I set it to say 5 nm? Does this mean the effective max torque would be 2.5 nm?

I picked the McLaren GT3 steeringwheel for this occasion. That wheel is only €200. If you get a wheel similair to the logitec wheel you end up with something like the fanatec clubsport GT v2, which is priced at €400, making the sets pretty much equal in price.
a real steering wheel doesn't even go to 11. In fact, I have mine about 6nm, and that's about the same as my lotus elise s2 with it's manual steering. My Genesis G70 with a weighty electronic power steering feels like a 3nm. The lotus emira I test drove is like a 3.5-4nm. the 11's are probably reserved for F1 cars...

if you are still struggling with drifting i would recommend a doing an experience day in real life. couple hundred dollars but you will learn and feel the most important thing. Weight transfer.. it is unbelievably difficult to learn how to be good in sims without that feeling of inertia or alternatively if you have nice car irl practice some figure 8s in a quiet industrial area
Thumb thus up so people get informed before new purchases! Not-so-fun fact: The new g pro ebrake DOESNT work when plugged into the back of the wheelbase. You'd think a Logitech device would be compatible with the proprietary USB hub in the back of the wheelbase. Another couple gripes that I have with the wheel additions: The factory wheel that is included has two analog paddles underneath the digital paddle shifters. Those can be used for launch control like in F1 (to set a clutch bite point). Why is that important? Well, the NEW RS F1 style wheel DOESNT have those... (Ironic as it is F1 styled). To add insult to injury, you cannot use the new RS F1 style wheel on the factory provided wheel hub. The buttons don't line up. What a stupid oversight. It should be the other way around... Or at least one should be able to use the grip part (F1 shaped wheel) to be installed/mounted onto the factory provided wheel hub somehow so that you get the F1 style analog paddles for launch control. The new wheel hub (which you can install the two new wheel designs on.. the F1 RS style one and the Round one) at least give you 2 extra buttons since they did away with the 2 analog paddles below the paddle shifters. This all makes me wonder if and when they ever release a new H pattern shifter, if it will even plug into the back of the wheel base or not... I'm not a fan of all this extra cable management. One of the reasons I went with Logitech was to keep all my other peripherals in the same software ecosystem as well as less cabling for my PC. Oh well... Early adopter problems...
I am quite happy the market is opening up. It just shows that we are now getting spoiled for choices. Having a Fanatec myself now, I am still relishing the fact that my old G29 got me here.
@@ele_112 The issue is long term reliability. Type-C is designed so that if there is any significant force applied to the port, it would damage the cable and not the port itself. To be honest, a large Type-B connector like those used on printers would've been better since those are a lot more heavy duty. Micro-USB is just not reliable enough for this kind of application in my opinion. On some people's setups, this would be on a sim rig in the middle of a room where people could potentially trip over the cable
This guy said the g923 was better than the t300 rs gt. He was a bold liar and had to be paid for that. I had the t300 rs first then used the g923, the 23 was HORRIBLE.
However I think the wheelbase is to big, just as the price It's looks great. The only thing I don't like are the pedals. To expensive for the plastic. There are better options for that price. And if you don't have a pedal plate on your rig then they're not usable.
I've been playing on a Logitech wheel since gt4 days with the driving force pro gt I still have. The g29 feels great at first but absolute junk after someone hits you hard a few times. I'm sure most people won't notice. But after that happens it's like playing golf with plastic golf clubs. I would never give Logitech that much money, the quality just gets worse and worse.. but I feel like that's all companies. The products suffer because everything is too top heavy with profits over everything. Maybe the g29 needs this brass encoder ring I'm hearing about. If I flick the ps switch mid race the wheel strokes out before recalibrating, good condition g29s don't do this
Where are the new shifters? Where are the GT or F1 style wheels? $1400 for the plastic, disgusting.... We made a removable steering wheel, but we won't provide steering wheels anytime soon. What we have at the moment - zero modifications, no ecosystem, dumb micro usb
Problem is that it's not compatible apparently with forza horizon 5, so honestly its not much needed for me and there is better gear still costing at 300

Asians dont make shit unless they can make it cheap and fast.
Goes up to 11... only... I don't see a good reason as to why people are buying it. It's overpriced. (The Fanatec DD1 that goes up to 20Nm is 1100, No, you don't get a wheel, but that wheel shouldn't justify the cost of it either, or if you just want a DD wheel, CSL DD will work just fine.) The G Hub software is alright... sometimes. The pedals from what I heard and saw aren't the best either, not to mention that at the price of 389€, you could be going with Fanatec Clubsport V3s for 10€ more, or the new Asetek Forte pedals which come at 498€. In my opinion, this is a waste of money.
Bro you can be a fan and prefer a totally different brand without having to try and pull strings to drag down the other. Jesus Christ, I don’t fucking understand people that do this childish shit.

If you get a wheel similair to the logitec wheel you end up with something like the fanatec clubsport GT v2, which is priced at €400, making the sets pretty much equal in price.
Great video
Looks nice but the damn thing is too expensive
You gotta pay to play baby boy!
@@jodyhiiirolla2398 yeah I'll get it soon
a real steering wheel doesn't even go to 11. In fact, I have mine about 6nm, and that's about the same as my lotus elise s2 with it's manual steering. My Genesis G70 with a weighty electronic power steering feels like a 3nm. The lotus emira I test drove is like a 3.5-4nm. the 11's are probably reserved for F1 cars...
it goes to 11! damn. thats pretty high. 39,916,800newton meters. if you dont get it, its 11!
Would be great if their support was any good. Decided to purchase. It’s a lot of money! Bought pedals and wheel together from their shop . Wheel arrived within a week. Still waiting for pedals a month later. Said they were in stock and on way .Support worse than useless. Loads of promises nothing happens. Just told to be patient. Shocking Just awful one star service . Will give it a few days then going to return although looking at the one star trustpilot reviews then this will be a nightmare AVOID
if you are still struggling with drifting i would recommend a doing an experience day in real life. couple hundred dollars but you will learn and feel the most important thing. Weight transfer.. it is unbelievably difficult to learn how to be good in sims without that feeling of inertia
or alternatively if you have nice car irl practice some figure 8s in a quiet industrial area
That would be a lot of fun! I don’t think my ‘05 golf tdi would cut it 😅
Thumb thus up so people get informed before new purchases!
Not-so-fun fact:
The new g pro ebrake DOESNT work when plugged into the back of the wheelbase.
You'd think a Logitech device would be compatible with the proprietary USB hub in the back of the wheelbase.
Another couple gripes that I have with the wheel additions:
The factory wheel that is included has two analog paddles underneath the digital paddle shifters.
Oh well... Early adopter problems...
man its my dream to have a wheel
I will stay with my Fanatec.
I am quite happy the market is opening up. It just shows that we are now getting spoiled for choices. Having a Fanatec myself now, I am still relishing the fact that my old G29 got me here.
Title 🔥
Why micro usb? Thats terrible for this pricepoint
I love this
My wallet hates this
Is there a reason why Logitech still won’t support Type-C?… This is getting ridiculous… This is a “Pro” racing wheel ffs.
really a usb type-c makes it a Pro
@@ele_112 The issue is long term reliability. Type-C is designed so that if there is any significant force applied to the port, it would damage the cable and not the port itself.
To be honest, a large Type-B connector like those used on printers would've been better since those are a lot more heavy duty.
Micro-USB is just not reliable enough for this kind of application in my opinion. On some people's setups, this would be on a sim rig in the middle of a room where people could potentially trip over the cable
so give away????? i want one so bad now but $1300 thats alot
This guy said the g923 was better than the t300 rs gt. He was a bold liar and had to be paid for that. I had the t300 rs first then used the g923, the 23 was HORRIBLE.
11 nM power, but expensive
Just looking to buy a racing wheel when Logitech dropped this what a coincidence LMFAO...
If I flick the ps switch mid race the wheel strokes out before recalibrating, good condition g29s don't do this
Only dumb thing why I don't want to buy this crap is, the damn steering wheel is too damn small. It should be a real life size one.
Yeah seems rather silly not having usb-c, micro usb was\is so unreliable long term
Why every tech guy love Lego.... 🔥❤️😅
😅
❤️🔥
Where are the new shifters? Where are the GT or F1 style wheels? $1400 for the plastic, disgusting.... We made a removable steering wheel, but we won't provide steering wheels anytime soon. What we have at the moment - zero modifications, no ecosystem, dumb micro usb
Problem is that it's not compatible apparently with forza horizon 5, so honestly its not much needed for me and there is better gear still costing at 300
You know
DUDE Thats 1000 $ WTF
Just save yourself the trouble and money and go with MOZA
MOZA not support for console and G Pro support, the quality much better then MOZA.
@ the r3 has support for Xbox
Agree, can't play GT7 on PS
No, thank you! I love my Fanatec! ❤
We can say good but to cammus, monza, sim magic all these companies are done honestly.
they should sell these for like 600 a pop and dominate the market lol....they would still make freaking bank...these kind of things must cost what??? 20 to 50 bucks, if that to make in a factory hell could be less idk..... ha i think alot alot of people forget this concept when it comes to modern electronics. Asians dont make shit unless they can make it cheap and fast.
Actual cost to make or produce something like this probably about $150-200 dollars by the time you pay your overhead.
Goes up to 11... only...
I don't see a good reason as to why people are buying it.
It's overpriced. (The Fanatec DD1 that goes up to 20Nm is 1100, No, you don't get a wheel, but that wheel shouldn't justify the cost of it either, or if you just want a DD wheel, CSL DD will work just fine.)
The G Hub software is alright... sometimes.
The pedals from what I heard and saw aren't the best either, not to mention that at the price of 389€, you could be going with Fanatec Clubsport V3s for 10€ more, or the new Asetek Forte pedals which come at 498€.
In my opinion, this is a waste of money.
in my opinion this wheel is the best.
Bro you can be a fan and prefer a totally different brand without having to try and pull strings to drag down the other. Jesus Christ, I don’t fucking understand people that do this childish shit.
@@jodyhiiirolla2398 I'm not trying to drag anything, I'm just saying my opinion and reasonable alternatives to this.
Plastic everywere, no way this worth 1350 usd
Wait for sale, as usual w logitech stuff lol

@@winonesoon9771 production cost for the whole set is probably 300-400$ the you add shipping and overhead plus development costs and the price point makes sense.
400 USD= Fanatec V3 pedals. better Quality, best feeling. Just talking about pedals. what a joke Logitech.
$349....
@@johnl2613 $262
Joke
just look at the flexx of the rig .. good advertisment .. NOT
he's not selling you a rig or reviewing it so you'll be ok so stay with us Karen
Lol
Jeez the g920 was expensive enough and it’s crap
youtube reviews are paid ads by this point.
time to get one thats plug and play. tired of messing with dd1
Logitech stealing peoples money, not very valuable for the cost over value. Fanatic did pro set is similar in price. If it was a price point of $900 combo kit I’d buy it.
8Nm is not the same as 11Nm.
Nope. As soon as you said $1000, I was done. No way is it worth that much. Not to mention you can get far better direct drive for less then half the price. Logitech has simply lost their minds back when covid started. Do not entertain this sort of behavior. Don't buy overpriced crap like this.
lol 11nM base with a wheel is around that pricing. Half the price? In your dreams. The only thing that I don't like is you can't just buy the base (for now).
I was exaggerating yes. But bro. Logitech is not the way to go for E-sim. Much better companies out there that offer far better equipment for much less.
@@johnl2613 The wheel looks ok. But the rest looks like hot garbage.
@@johnl2613 Also. If you are going to spend $1000 on just the base and wheel. Why not just go the extra mile and just get the 25Nm from Fanatec? Why settle for 11Nm? 😁
@@Hamlock_Maneuver the combo for something like this costs about 100 to 200 less from fanatec, from what i've heard so far the wheelbase feels amazing, considering it's their first attempt at a DD wheel this is pretty good, the more competition the better, and i am curious to see what they will come up with in the next generation
Looks cheap
i rather buy a Fanatec ... then this crap.
Over priced crap
$999 with no pedal. Pedal itself is $350. Fawwk, for $1350 you can buy a used car and experience real driving. Lmao
I know women that paid $1500.00 for shoes and $5000.00 for a handbag; they can look good and experience the public bus system.
