I love your videos. You are like my eyes and legs going to places in India that I wish I could visit. I love the way you so comfortably walk anywhere as a tourist. You must have an iron stomach, man. Your enthusiasm and energy are off the charts! The still shots are very cool. Thanks
It's very interesting that you include the traffic in your video. I like genuine daily life mixed into your videos. Shows what it's really like to travel. Not allways easy and quick.
Woww.....I live in Delhi and my hometown is in Devprayag (Uttrakhand), people in the bus speaking my native language GARHWALI. 😄 THANKS GABRIEL , take care and Come back soon😊
Discovered you a week ago. Now I'm going back to your older videos and that's all I've been watching all weekend long! I'm a train attendant in Canada. I enjoy following you around on your trips!
Being an Indian I have still not visited Uttarakhand :( .. I have been watching your videos from past few days and thank you Gabriel for inspiring me to visit that beautiful place
Hi Gabriel; how do you take care of your gears (GoPro, Cameras, lenses) while filming on dusty road like 8:44? And, what editing program do you use for your videos? Keep up the good work bro! Namaste!
That guy wasn't wrong. Initially you went at the main bus stand where the public state run buses come to and leave from. You took a private bus from the adjacent bus stand which goes exclusively to gangotri via tehri. Fun fact : tehri was one of the capital of garhwal but the whole town was submerged in the reservoir of tehri dam in early 2000s. . The entire population was relocated and a new city, new tehri came into being.
I guess it depends on your perspective. A hundred feet away from him there was a bus waiting to go to Uttarkashi in ten minutes. The other guy knew to go to the other station, he didn't.
The weather was a bit hazy, still charming though. The best time to go to the upper reaches is mid may - june and the months of September and october. Also, you have got to do the gaumukh- tapovan trek. It is where the ganges originates. Surrounded by all major himalayan peaks, you would be walking at the base of those peaks (chaukhamba, bhagirathi, nilkanth, etc). Also the surrounding area of nanda devi biosphere reserve which has the highest peak of Uttarakhand, Nanda devi. I hope you come here sometime again in the summer.
I got way better shots of the Himalayas on the day I left Uttarkashi, when the skies were clearer. And yes I want to go up there again and explore more sometime during April/May or September/October when you can get up into the mountains. Too cold now, unless you're ready for some snow trekking.
It is a different world up there. Specially the region where the pine trees end and the deodar trees start to appear. There are hot springs, vantage points exotic flora and fauna completely out of this world along with the nicest people on the planet. Off late many indian travellers have started hiking as well and some trekking companies have overexploited some trekking routes. But the majority of the treks are completely wild and beautiful. The best place in the world if you are interested in trekking. Famous mountainers like eric shipton, reinhold messner, frank smythe, tenzing norgay etc all came here before going on to the expeditions on mount everest. An escape for us indians, really with all the chaos in the plains. Just like yosemite and yellow stone are to the people on the western coast of the U. S.
Mr. Gabriel that Man ( bus conductor ) Was not wrong actually he saying for government bus and you trevlling in private bus Compney her name is viswanath sewa. Sorry because my English so weak .thanks for India visit welcome again.when you read my comment so please give me answer Iam waiting
I liked the pic snap sound effects , And you identified the chardham pics (i can only identify 2)that shows how much work and planning you do on your tours . I didn't visited as many places as you did in India
2:20 Ok he is a private Bus service operator and he would definitely wont want to give info about other competitor bus operator ( Govt and other private bus services). This is normal in India. Usually private bus operator stand/roam around govt bus service stop to collect ill informed people (but you are smart !) .
Absolutely. Crucial tip. Never take anyone's answer as the final answer, unless it's an official desk of some sort. Try to confirm the same answer at least three times.
1:40 : That's a pro tourist right there! :D Others, take note. When random taxi/auto drivers give you an amount of 200/ 400/ 500 rs, don't just agree. Give one or two sentences and pretend you've visited already a day before .. try first for a rate at 50%. The drivers will 'pretend to be shocked' at that rate and then you both can settle at 70% of the original rate. Frequently works.
Wonderful footage!!!! 😊 I’m subbing to your channel because I love your videos and you blog very very good! Keep up the wonderful work and wonderful videos! Sending love from Detroit Michigan 💜😊
10:45 Tehri dam, Uttarakhand in 2008; dam is 800 feet, tehri village is submerged into this dam and the population was relocated to the new built town called "new tehri" you could listen to the folk song dedicated to tehri village ruclips.net/video/zcxmd5DN8S4/видео.html
19:20 It is the staple every day vegetarian food at Indian homes. Those with paneer masala /tikka etc are not every day but restaurant foods. No one eats paneer everyday in homes.
Gabriel...sorry if you've been asked this before...have you ever traveled extensively on the ancient Silk Road routes? Would live to see some or all of that!
amazing. I can’t believe you went out after that long journey. shower is my week point, if I can’t get a good one I’m grumpy 😆 looking forward to next videos from here. gopro took some really good footages in this video. take care.
Your Vlogs are just awesome.. seen your Old Delhi vlogs too, respect for showing the uglier side of Indian cities and hats off to your sense of adventure. It's a bit embarassing for us to see through your eyes how our societies exist in such cramped spaces. Anyways, seeing your Vlogs I instantly remember those subtle moments I have experienced myself while travelling and experience all such moments once again with your eyes (or camera) all this feels so 'real'. Thank You..! I'd be glad if you replied..
Since, you are going to Gangotri, please visit Gomukh, the place from where river Ganga starts to flow. It's a serene and surreal place to be in. You will have an outburst of emotions once you reach there(Gomukh) that I can guarantee. Gomukh is way up ahead of Gagotri. It's a three days trek way up and back to Gangotri. :)
hey Gab, that guy on bus stand was a govt bus conductor and that stand was govt bus stand but you got a private bus on private bus stand, so he may not have information regarding private bus. he gave you information about govt bus.
84, country import indian dairy products. No other cow in the world can give you A2 protein milk than indian cow which can cure many generic diseases... that's the reason Indian cow are god for locals. The average life of Indian cow is 2.8 times more than others because cows get complete freedom to roam anywhere and cows eat all herbs and return to home at evening to her home. I love cows but I cant afford any because I live in town.
I like detailed vblog of yours. I like how you mention pricing of food, motel and transportation. I wish you could mention each juncture when you take public transportation... details such as location, city, company name of the motel or transportation, if any mobile phones work in that area or internet usage details! Distance of the journey when you mention prices also would help... Lovely effort ❤️. Appreciate... It’s poor neighborhood, so facilities are run down.
you are lucky to visit all these beautiful hindu piligrim places even indians dont have time visiting these beautiful temples and pilgrims city's i think you should be a ambassador of Hinduism
Wow what a great video. That bus on the side of the mountain scares me I would be hiding down back of the seat.Matedo you carry yyou're laptop and go pro gear in you're big rucksack?I'm off to Thailand/Cambodia in February and not sure if I should put my gear in the back pack or a desperate smaller one.
My cameras, laptop, wallet, passport, etc. always goes in my smaller bag that I have with me. I never want to leave that stuff out of my sight. Your big backpack might end up in a compartment in the back of the bus, on top or who knows where. So just in case it disappears, I want to have all the essentials with me. The big backpack is just for clothes, blanket, toiletries, books, etc.
