Flatpicking Carl Miner's TNAG tune: C- OM 42 SS SB - on a Martin 41 with a Wegen pick

- Another one on my (long) list of Carl tunes. This one starts with some fingerpicking before picking up the pick for the main part of the tune. I'm not great at switching between fingers and pick; it takes a lot of concentration to get the pick in a comfortable grip, and that makes it harder to get the fingerstyle bit right as my mind's thinking ahead!
I got a new Wegen pick -- a TF120 -- midweek, so figured I should learn a new tune to play with it. I always learn these by watching the TNAG youtube channel, and slowing them down. Here's Carl's original:
• Collings OM 42 SS SB A...
As I've only been playing this one a few days, I still have to concentrate on remembering which bit comes next, and that makes it more prone to mistakes. Hopefully I'll embed this into my practise routine and get it smoother.
Always a pleasure to listen to you play. You are a Master!
Thank you!
Nice buddy! That's a hard one
Thx! Definitely going to take a lot more practice hours to clean it up. Especially those descending triplet down-up-downs - I find them really hard to do cleanly in the middle or a play through
Очень красиво и мелодично!!👍🔥
the execution is very good
большое спасибо!
I also prefer a Wegen pick over anything I’ve tried. Do you know what pick Carl uses?
Think he uses a dunlop tortex 1.14 (and a thinner one too). I don't like the tortex so much, but I do get along with the ultex 1.14
