  • My attempt at playing Carl's tune on my D41. Here's the OG version that I learned from:
    • Atkin ED-M acoustic gu...
All my the usual fluffs and sloppiness abound. Especially the thumb-over F - muffled as always, but I feel like I'm making some small progress with the thumb all the same.
Had to use a little compression on this to get the levels right - it's the strumming that forces the issue and causes peaks that need taming. I left my old (ish) strings on because they seemed to suit the tune and the TNAG original sound.

There's several Carl Miner transcriptions on Valentin Yoyer's Channel

Thanks Jeff - I checked Valentin's channel 6 months ago, or so, and didn't find any tunes I was working on, but I just checked again (thanks to you) and there's a transcription of one of my queued CM tunes. I'll give the transcript a go and see if it helps my learning!

Really nice effort. I use Carl for inspiration often, though you take it much farther than I can. I like your channel. Also, sweet guitar.

Thanks Joe! The guitar is sweet! I've still got a looooong list of Carl tunes to learn - and he keeps doing new ones!

You are way, way to critical of yourself Tom. I think this is excellent!!

Thanks Phil, I do like the recordings overall, I just can't help focussing on the mistakes!
