The Collings OM2H is stunning - crustal clear with no muddiness or obfuscation. Carl Miner is the absolute perfect person to demonstrate the beauty of these instruments. He is beyond talented and brings out the best in every guitar. Thanks for your brilliance and limitless acumen!
Another beautiful piece Carl. The ageing of the top shows through in the the tone and balance of the Collins’s, not quite a vintage Martin but lovely just same. Thanks!
Exactly. Still not a Martin tone, nor vintage Martin time, but alot closer while still keeping the Collings sound. I feel these traditionals have character. Which imo some Collings were missing. I wasn't a Collings fan, even though they're amazing guitars, but I like these alot
I wonder how the intonation holds up with the uncompensated saddle. I know have to sweeten things a bit on my guitar that has it. I definitely notice the difference on my compensated guitars
Absolutely gorgeous sound and playing. May I ask and know what the recording chain was? (SDC mic, mic pre, AD). Sublime. I may have to buy this guitar. Thanks!
I have a line on one of these for a good deal. Imua martin guy and own a 000-28 Custom Authentic 1937. But want to pair it with an OM. Idk if pairing it with another Indian rosewood back guitar is a good idea. But it sounds dam good. And that's coming from someone who usually isnt a bif Collings fan. These traditionals are imo what Collings sound should be
Does it really sound that good ? i see 2 mic's an that kind of recording can make alot of guitars sound big? if so im buying this model excellent playing by the way!!
Okay guys i'm currently on the hunt for my first high end acoustic and just fell in love with this guitar. How much difference will a standard series om2 be? I live in the middle of the woods in a country without many guitars to try so it's kind of a crapshoot.
Difference as in price, or as in tone/playing experience? The price difference between the Standard and Traditional series ranges from $1k-1.5k. Either way, you'd do well to consider pre-owned. In terms of tone and playing experience, we'll admit we are all converts to the T-Series guitars. Collings are known for having a strong, bright high end, but the bracing and voicing of the T-Series guitars mellows that out. But if you get a pre-owned Standard that's been really well played in, it's going to have a lot of warmth and nuance, too. We haven't had the chance to do a comparison of the OMs, but here's a dread comparison: ruclips.net/video/YNxMBqsL_iY/видео.html
@@cartervintagebackstage Thanks for the reply. Yeah i meant differences in sound. I do really like the standard OMs aswell so maybe i just need to open one up with some playing. Since the guitar in the video is both a T and used maybe it would be unfair to compare it to a brand new standard :)
@@hellsSG Indeed! I don't want to undersell the Standards, as they're still fabulous guitars with just a slightly different tone and feel. But they are voiced differently, so if you do find yourself liking the tone of the Ts more, it's worth it to hold out for what you really want, especially since you're ordering from afar.
Carl Miner makes that baked Sitka Collings OM2H sing like it was heaven sent. Together they are flawless.
Stunning tone and beautiful playing. The musical piece was hauntingly beautiful. I hope that one day I can own one of these superb instruments.

This to me is the quintessential OM sound - fantastic guitar and playing, thanks for the demo!
Yikes! That guitar sounds GOOOOD! One of the best sounding Collings OMs I have heard.
Yeah i have a feeling this one will sell very quickly once this video goes listed :)
To me, traditional series stand head and shoulders above the rest of the lineup.

Imagine being there in person to listen to this if it sounds so good on my tablet and earphones 😮
Would love a tab of this tune!
This melody peacefully flows like tranquil healing waters. Very sweet.
What a lovely composition. Perfect for showing off this guitar
Wow! The tone, resonance and bass is amazing!
I am overwhelmed by how exquisite and beautiful this piece of music is. Thanks again Carl😊❤
Insane performance. Amazing guitar.
And that’s how it sounds on video!
Sadly I have only one Like to give...... Amazingly beautiful as usual!

Perfect match for that guitar. Beautiful!
that's a wonderful sounding OM
great playing, and a lovely sounding OM
This is so pretty it hurts.
❤
Excellent playing! I would be interested in knowing what the audio chain consisted of.

Fantastic playing, fantastic sounding guitar and beautiful arrangement. What is the name of the song?
Sweet
Sounds incredible. What string do you use?

Bear claw engelman and african mahogany. That would be my custom bozung c b dreadnought guitar.
