Broadband, Charlie did a part 2 to this, check it out., also you should check out the remake by K.M.C. Kru called The Devil Came Up To Michigan, it's a rap., not as good as Charlie of course, but fun to listen to.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Kamryn Kian Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@BLEACH500 u got it backwards the fiddle is the original created at latest 900 A.D. the violin family didnt show up until the 1500s so the fiddle is the actual item and the violin is from italy which makes it sound warmer instead of more tin sound ig u could say because the lore of the fiddle possibly comes from Scotland then went to Ireland which is y the irish folk songs are written with fiddles in mind.....plus the strings are made of steel and nylon to make the sound
Lil trivia Dr Dre said Charlie Daniel's is one of the original OG rappers. RIP Charlie the world misses your presence. Absolute legendary musician and was such a humble man. Great reaction.
Heard this song many times. Seen many reactors react to it. Never considered or heard of anyone drawing the possible parallel between the devil and the music industry. Subbed.
I was at this concert in Saratoga Ca when I was in high school and it was crazy awesome. RIP . Oh and a fiddle has steel strings and a violin usually has gut strings.
From my understanding when I took guitar and violin lessons my teacher told me the best violins was built to produce the sounds you hear in classical music and a fiddle was built to produce what you hear in this video. Just like different acoustic guitars have their own sound. Some sound deep and some sound tinny.
It's mostly a folk story vibe but the idea of it as an allegory for executives is actually really original and interesting. It's a cool kind of analysis most folks don't actually do.
I've heard many country music fans say that the difference between a violin & a fiddle is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has STRANGS! Mr. Daniels doing a little bit of Southern rapping before the word "rap" was barely known to mainstream media. This is one of those fun upbeat songs that crosses genres & makes everybody clap their hands & tap their feet. :-) Charlie passed away on July 6th 2020 at age 83... RIP
Many songs are set up in a way that makes it good to listen to a few times but then you get sick of it. This song, however, sounds better every time you listen to it.
I like to interpret this song as refusing to give in to your inner demons when they try to plant negativity in your mind. When you start to question your own talent and abilities, you need to remember the truth about what you are capable of accomplishing and tell those demons where to go. Johnny knew he was the best and proved it. Never give up on yourself!
I saw Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt in concert (for my first time) in Oklahoma in December of 2019. Charlie was so dope and could still shred on his fiddle. He expressed his love for the USA, it’s citizens, and especially its men and women in uniform protecting our freedom and there was not one dry eye in the theater. He also saw a young boy in the front row who was dancing to the music and Charlie walked right over to him in the middle of the song and gave his bow to the boy. Pretty awesome souvenir and memory for that youngster. Now that he has suddenly passed I’m deeply saddened but also thankful that I decided to buy that ticket and drive from Texas to Oklahoma to see him perform. As I sat there just a few rows back I was amazed at how spry he was for being in his 80s. It just goes to show you that live is precious, health is paramount, and every day is a gift. RIP Charlie!
Saw them at The Great Frederick Fair in 2017. CDB opened the Tritt's crew came out to do their set. Two VERY different bands! CDB were joking around and having a great time. Tritt's band looked like they were bored and couldn't wait to get off stage.
💂🙌📯💨This is called hill Billy rock & folklore music from the best. Charlie Daniels was a great Patriot who truly with G🌎D , America & JUDEO Christian values & the family unit.
Of the 2 dozen or so, reaction videos that I have watched on this particular song, you have given the most intelligentand thoughtful response of all of them. I know this is two years after you posted, but I just want to know I appreciate your thoughts and reaction.
The comment you made about them going all out on stage. That's called passion. And actually performing. It takes heart and passion like that to make timeless music like this. I miss that in today's music. 😕
Great breakdown on the song. Especially with the difference between the fiddle and the violin. Not many people know they are the same instrument. The only difference is the genre of music you’re playing.
I am not a fan of country music, too much gives me a headache. But this song is one of the few I actually enjoy! You should probably check out Johnny Cash as well!!!
You're right about the main difference being how it's played. Plus fiddlers hold the violin lower down than violinists (normally held under chin using a chin rest). Also, they sometimes file the bridge down (wooden piece that is arched and separates the strings) so they can more easily play two strings at a time.
I always interpreted this song as the devil is gonna try you. Its up to you to be confident enough in yourself and your abilities to look the devil square in the eye and say "Bring it on. You wont win but go on and try"
No need to “interpret” it, he’s telling the entire story. All you gotta do is listen, Charlie Daniels was a storyteller. Check out the song “Uneasy Rider”.
...well since a bazillion people have asked this and I have now watched this songs reaction like 30x, I gotta say it. Lol. Fiddles and violins are almost the same in layman's. To someone who isn't a player or that familiar w/the string instruments, they'll say they're the same... but fiddles are straighter across and also have a different attachment to lay your chin on(violins dont). Like you said a huge difference is the music played on either, but the Fiddle is tunned down several octaves(gives it the blue grass and folk sound as opposed to the "classical" named sound u mentioned). Bows are a little different on each. Those are main differences(there's other smaller, subtle ones), & new school ones are being made different thru time, each decade as we go & instruments change/evolve, but they're still basically the same for all intent and purposes (unless you're a player, then hell no, they're completely different, lmaooo). Good reaction. I like ya. Can't believe you're from The South and hadn't heard this though!! ;-))
@7:15, We renamed Johnny to 'Chaddy' (what I called my big brother Chad)and played this on the way to his burial 😢... I absolutely sing it still with Chaddy in place of Johnny ❤ and Charlie (RIP) is out there low key rapping country!!😅❤
The difference between the two is how you play it. The violin is played slower with the whole bow, and a fiddle is played faster. I saw him in concert in 2002 and I started taking lessons to learn to play the fiddle shortly after and my instructor told me that.
I was lucky enough to see Charlie at a music festival in Casper, Wy not to long before his passing. I'm lucky at this point to see him play this song cause after three days of heavy boozing and just about everything else I was just about there. Casper Mountain.
I read in another comment somewhere that the difference between a fiddle and violin…a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs. 😁😄😆😂🤣 That’s about it.
Two things... 1) a fiddle is just a violin you don't mind getting beer on, and 2) I think we both know my mans did NOT break his arm playing basketball hahahahahaha!
All seriousness, a violin is called a fiddle when it's used in this type of music: country, blues, folk, bluegrass, etc. A common joke is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has "strangs".
You're exactly right. The violin and fiddle are basically the same instrument, though fiddlers may customize it a little with flat bridge or no chin rest sometimes. The difference is in the tuning and how it's played.
Fiddle and Violin are actually the same instrument. The difference is HOW they are played. Violins are held "upright" (normally out along shoulder) which produces a deeper sound and allows for slower but consistent sounds. Fiddles are held lower (Across chest or belly) which allows for normally higher pitched notes that can be played faster and bow use to shift between 'whines' or plucked to produce 'twangs'. Besides how they are played to produce the sounds... they are the same instrument.
Love it!! I’d love to see you do more 80’s / early 90’s music videos - that was the golden age of MTV. Like Billy Idol Cradle of Love, ZZ Top Legs, and Run DMC & Aerosmith Walk This Way. That was the time that you’d see music videos of Glam Rock bands, Rap, and Pop artists all on the same MTV countdown. You’d hear Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauder, and Metallica on the same radio station. And a metic shit ton of one hit wonders.

@Kamryn Kian it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account :D
A fiddle is a violin with an attitude.
Best explanation I've ever heard
A violin is carried in a case a fiddle is carried in a potato sack
The difference is one has strings and the other has strangs
A fiddle has lower bridges and different strings so its set up differently i guess for what you would call more twangy sound

No one could make a fiddle cry like Charlie! RIP
Amen!
And the dvil can Never take your soul..
A violin has strings, a fiddle has strangs! 🤣🤣That's the difference
😂😂😂
The best explanation that I ever heard was "The violin sings, and the fiddle dances".
Violin you carry in a case, fiddle you carry in a potato sack!
Dang straight!!😁
😂
Best fiddle player ever! Been to many of his concerts and he always rocked it! Sadly he passed away July 6th 2020 RIP Charlie
Heard this song many times. Seen many reactors react to it. Never considered or heard of anyone drawing the possible parallel between the devil and the music industry. Subbed.
Yeah, I thought that was a brilliant interpretation
Charlie could play every instrument. He was so talented. He was best with a fiddle or a guitar.
I was at this concert in Saratoga Ca when I was in high school and it was crazy awesome. RIP . Oh and a fiddle has steel strings and a violin usually has gut strings.
Or Italian violin and scottish fiddle which something i didnt know the fiddle is about 500 years older than the violin
Charlie Daniels passed away last year. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
I was at that concert. It was one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen. 🎉
From my understanding when I took guitar and violin lessons my teacher told me the best violins was built to produce the sounds you hear in classical music and a fiddle was built to produce what you hear in this video. Just like different acoustic guitars have their own sound. Some sound deep and some sound tinny.
R. I. P. Charlie
One of the best ever ❣️❣️❣️
Charlie Daniels is the best fiddle player in history and every song he had tells an amazing story. There will never be another like him.
It's mostly a folk story vibe but the idea of it as an allegory for executives is actually really original and interesting. It's a cool kind of analysis most folks don't actually do.
I challenge anyone, from anywhere to get through this whole song without slipping into an exaggerated southern accent. 😁😄😆😂🤣 I love it!!!
Country music almost always tells a story. And btw, CD was rapping and spitting bars.
you hit the nail on the head.... the difference between a fiddle and a violin is all in how you play it
I've heard many country music fans say that the difference between a violin & a fiddle is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has STRANGS! This song came out late 70's and is played on both Classic County and Classic Rock stations. It's more Southern Rock.
100% Legend! RIP Charlie Daniel 💙

The record execs take for the devil is actually super interesting and real fun to think about

I saw them too! At a casino in California. Sooo good!
Saw them at The Great Frederick Fair in 2017. CDB opened the Tritt's crew came out to do their set. Two VERY different bands! CDB were joking around and having a great time. Tritt's band looked like they were bored and couldn't wait to get off stage.
Great reaction! Classic from a legend.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Charlie.

YAS! the hero's myth. I love this reaction. Johnny faced his demons. Spot on!
Thanks man for reacting to Charlie Daniels. He's AWESOME! God bless you man!!
The comment you made about them going all out on stage. That's called passion. And actually performing. It takes heart and passion like that to make timeless music like this. I miss that in today's music. 😕
To me this is country rap, I love it and I love your reaction to it.
Great breakdown on the song. Especially with the difference between the fiddle and the violin. Not many people know they are the same instrument. The only difference is the genre of music you’re playing.

Historic performance- May that legend R.I.P.!
I believe this was at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Great venue. Rest in peace Charlie Daniels. Great reaction.
I always interpreted this song as the devil is gonna try you. Its up to you to be confident enough in yourself and your abilities to look the devil square in the eye and say "Bring it on. You wont win but go on and try"
Charlie Daniels is the greatest fiddle player this world has ever seen and NOBODY will ever be able to match his skill and talent
Your comment about the industry was very insightful and one I had never thought of about this song. Bravo man!
That was a very good analogy about the music industry.
Mans out here playing the keyboard better with one hand than I could play any instrument with both hands lol
My grandfather was a bluegrass player. One of the best to me
I appreciate your Insight sir. Good for you
That is a great take about the record producers!!!!!
I've never heard this take and it honestly never crossed my mind!!
That record company analogy was a good comparison.
No need to “interpret” it, he’s telling the entire story. All you gotta do is listen, Charlie Daniels was a storyteller. Check out the song “Uneasy Rider”.
Hell yeah, best one to react to 😈🎻, brings me back to guitar hero times🔥🔥
Fiddle is Classically Trained...saying, 'Lets break the Rules'...😳😁
...well since a bazillion people have asked this and I have now watched this songs reaction like 30x, I gotta say it. Lol. Fiddles and violins are almost the same in layman's. Can't believe you're from The South and hadn't heard this though!! ;-))
I have been to exactly one concert in my life. It was the one you are reacting to.
The premise goes to an old story of a deal with the devil. The Faustus legends.
@7:15, We renamed Johnny to 'Chaddy' (what I called my big brother Chad)and played this on the way to his burial 😢... I absolutely sing it still with Chaddy in place of Johnny ❤ and Charlie (RIP) is out there low key rapping country!!😅❤
A fiddle has strangs and a violin has strings. 💯
The difference is the way you are playing it! Xoxoxo

Look up the Charlie Daniels Geico commercial. Still hammering the shit out of the fiddle.
I always thought of it as the country version of the Robert Johnson legend
The keyboardist was the last guy to battle the devil. Got his ass whooped but still rockin! You just cant keep an artist down.
Hello from Cody Wyoming! I know I'm late...but you're awesome dude☺
best , most genius review of this song so far. My mind is exploding. City vs country.
Origin- something for your soul: legend of FAUST. Centuries old fight
He was one of the best fiddle players
good reaction my friend...
Love your reaction!
Rest with Jesus, Charlie. I bet our Lord jams with you in heaven.
I was lucky enough to see Charlie at a music festival in Casper, Wy not to long before his passing. I'm lucky at this point to see him play this song cause after three days of heavy boozing and just about everything else I was just about there. Casper Mountain.
First time watching u. Awesome job. U did not over pause. Subscribing.
You are correct, the fiddle and violin are the same thing, it is how it is played.
Great reaction. You should react to Chicks dig it by Chris Cagle (pronounced K-gal)
Charlie Daniels was the best fiddle player ever
I never thought of it that way. But I see what you are saying.
I read in another comment somewhere that the difference between a fiddle and violin…a violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs. 😁😄😆😂🤣 That’s about it.

You got it bro, the fiddle/voilin thing is all simply context.
I've heard that a Violin uses stings and a fiddle uses strangs ...lol
great reaction❤
A Violin has "strings" a fiddle has "strangs" !!
The words that he is singing are names for playing the different notes.
He always played hard till the time he died
A violin is a fiddle that ain't have beer spilled on it.
A violin has strings where a fiddle has strangs!
All seriousness, a violin is called a fiddle when it's used in this type of music: country, blues, folk, bluegrass, etc. A common joke is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has "strangs".
RIP Charlie Daniels
#Legend
Back in the day. Someone came on a late night show. And said Charlie can’t play for shit. Well….. Charlie showed him . 😃
This is from 1973 or 1974. And the execs did screw people back then, but there was no hidden meaning here, it was just the Devil versus Johnny.
it is crazy how many artists have middle finger songs!!
Great video. May want to give a listen to Mark O'conner's Devil Come Back to Georgia.
A voilin has string(nylon) a fiddle has strangs (metal)
You're exactly right. The violin and fiddle are basically the same instrument, though fiddlers may customize it a little with flat bridge or no chin rest sometimes. The difference is in the tuning and how it's played.
It's a proven fact that the piano player with the broken arm can use ultra instinct....😂
Welcome to Southern Rock and Country blended by CBD
Listen to his simple man another good one the devil was behind needed more souls of
Great reaction..
Try some Bob DYLAN..
He is the truly G.O.A.T.
Great reaction. You have to check out family tradition. If anyone remembers who sings it, please leave a comment.
Hank Williams Jr sings Family Tradition.
Great one! And Alabama band, Roll On!
@@suekelley6461 yes, I love that song.

The difference between fiddle and violin is simple:
A violin uses strings
A fiddle uses straaangs
