EVERYONE love The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Everybody. It transcends genre.
I think its a point of pride for the character Johnny. He loves playing his fiddle and knows hes the best. I don't think the gold fiddle had as much value to him as proving he was better than the devil.
listen to the parody song David Allan Coe - Devil went down to Jamaica (the complete song)
@@jim413jim3 song is awesome. I laugh every time
I still remember how mad my Nana was at my Papa when I learned to play this on my violin. It was so great.
Jamie Miller fiddle*
not a violin they have strings and the fiddle has a Sttranges
Do you know a fiddle player named Pappy? That's my dad.
LMAO...
@@Royelsworth Same instrument but different discipline
Johnny later changed his name and found fame as a man named Charlie Daniels...
I believe it. lol
DARN SKIPPY!
One of the best songs ever written. Definitely the most infamous song with the fiddle. Talent galore! My husband said he has to get a new bow after he plays this song because he saws it so much. Love this song.
I love watching people react to the song for the first time because they experience pretty much every emotion under the Spectrum
Devil had a 70's kick ass bassline and funky clavier behind him, and he still couldnt win?
In a slightly more meta view, you could argue that the Devil did win in the end. He wanted Johnny’s soul, not to win the battle. Johnny was so prideful, a mortal sin, that he could be tempted to wager his soul for gold. Johnny may have won the battle, but the Devil will still get his soul in the end.
@@SpiralSine6 Nah there's a sequel to this, remember, mortal sins can still be forgiven. Check it out, 'Devil Returns to Georgia' by Mark O'connor, with Charlie Daniels, Marty Stuart, Travis Tritt and Johnny Cash.
The bet was one on one... Bassline and clavier didn't count
@@SpiralSine6 nah its all fake anyways
@@SpiralSine6 I guess based on how we were raised especially in the church we always picked Johnny but the more I listen to the song I must say I like the devil's part better, especially how Charlie made the fiddle hisss, that's always been my favorite part.
RIP Charlie Daniels. I saw him in concert. Be went through 4-5 fiddles.
Charlie Daniels passed away today. Cheers to a legend!
'So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never
Because the dance with the devil might last you forever'
Love this!!
Unless you johnny. Then the devils your bitch
Charlie Daniels just passed yesterday! RIP to another legend!
Did you see where the piano player was playing one handed. Broken arm.
"Taz" Joel Digregerio
All the respect to that man. Still kicking it even one armed.
Wow, I didn't notice, you'd never know either
I saw him play not long ago with Alabama another country band, and at 80 something he is just as good and can slay a guitar too which I didnt know until that concert. Was an amzing concert. He has a lot of good songs. Simple Man by him is my favorite. Thank you for the reaction!
I saw him in concert several years ago. I kept waiting for that fiddle to burst into flames, he played the fire out of it.
Charlie Daniels is in his late 70's or early 80's and can still play that fiddle just like that
Charlie Daniels is such a great musician!
I've two stepped and jitterbugged at two of his concerts!
(Nope...Jesus has mine!)
“Johnny is SAVAGE!!!”
I’m dying 😂🤣😂🤣
This song takes me back to when I was a little boy and my father used to play this on an 8 track when we was driving around in his big car...
OMG, I just read that Charlie Daniels died today. This makes me sad.
😢
I loved this song and dancing to it. Heaven just gained another angel. Rest in peace Charlie Daniels!
He just past away this weekend at 80. Died of a stroke😢
83
RIP Charlie
This is the first rap song I ever loved! It came out the same year .....1979.... as Rappers Delight....the song considered the start of rap. Great that you reacted to this! Keep it interesting! 🔥😁 The look on your face...priceless! lol. Didnt expect that did you?! lol. RIP Charlie Daniels! 🙏
R.I.P to the great Charlie Daniels ( 7/6/2020) He was one of a kind , so glad you did this reaction !!!!
Good music is sometimes hard to find these days. But the classics are classics for a reason.
I've lived long enough to notice that good music can come in cycles, like many other mediums. The people who grew up on the music of Charlie and Waylon and Willie are getting more of a foothold again, and We're starting to get some songs that really resonate, once more. I was recently given a link to a fairly new rock band, whose music grabbed me just as hard as the stuff from the 80s does. Our heroes have staying power, and their influences can be felt reverberating through the canyons of time.
There's a clearer version of this on spotify, it makes it easier to hear plus he has more flair in the studio version
This is Grandma from Texas. Charlie Daniels was a genius playing the fiddle. In his concerts he always “played it HOT” in fact he played it so hot that sometimes at the end of the song he only had one string left on his bow to play the fiddle. Videographers knew this and would try to zoom in on his bow and in some videos you can see the strings flailing at the end of his bow. Great reaction. Been subscribed for a very long time. Thank you for ALL your great content. ✝️🇺🇸
Johnny was confident with his game
I saw him play this in a movie once, and he tore up 2 dang violin bows playing it.
Charlie Daniels was the best fiddle player to ever exist.. RIP Charlie
The Charlie Daniels Band's -"The Legend of the Wooley Swamp" is another masterclass of storytelling. I highly recommend it.
Yes LOVE that song!
Best reaction I've seen to this song so far....and I've just watched 5 in a row
I'm loving your reactions and comments to, Charlie Daniels band " The Devil went down to Georgia"❤❤
Not a single person ever cheered for the devil. Johnny is the man!!
I remember seeing them play this live in Gilley's in Pasadena, TX. One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
Johnny knew he could beat the devil cause his talent is God given!
You know, I'd take that bet on one condition: "If I ever lose, you can have my soul but you have to promise that those who I consider as mine are taken care of and provided for as they would be had they been born of your house."
I went and saw them in concert twice. This is a awesome song
Charlie Daniels passed away this week! Rest in peace. Such a talented man who brought so much joy to the world.
Charlie Daniels is the king of the fiddle. Always has always will be. R.I.P Charlie. Charlie plays a mean fiddle better then anyone.
I love that the devil’s music has a disco beat. 😂
The devil’s funky, man.
Me personally have always thought the devil won, I like that disco funk and how Charlie made the fiddle hiss towards the end of the devil's set.
@@unknownx7252 the backup demons shouldn't really be a factor
Doc let me tell you something son, don't ever ever fool with the devil😨😊 l was a teenager in the 70s and lm gonna throw the best decades (70s) music at you and l really think you will love them all! A few good 80s too😉
“100 Million dollars...that’s generational wealth” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm beyond my prime, and disabled, but back in the day, hell yeah! I was never intimidated by power, respectful, but never intimidated. If the devil felt compelled to show himself back when, and challenge me, he would have been making the same mistake a lot of humans have in underestimating me.
I would have told him to bring it on.
Today I would just say, run along, bub.
Well, I could probably take him down in Scrabble. I have a knack for seven letter plays.
dominique moceanu devil went down to georgia floor routine to this song helped to win the US Gymnastics team GOLD in 1996!!!!!
Like the way he introduces his band.
Loved this song when I was a kid I would wait for it too come on the radio.
R.I.P. Charlie Daniels passed 7-6-2020
Grew up listening to Charlie Daniels. He has so many great songs, this is but one of them. In his later years, he had a steadfast heart for God that remained until his unexpected passing on July 7th, 2020.
Confidence is one thing, backing it up is another.
"What's a reasonable amount?" ONE HUNDRED MILLION lmao
No, never bet with the devil. The devil has a way to twist that bet to his favor.
MY SOUL belongs to Jesus.
I LOVE how Charlie Daniel's band ends this performance. SO FABULOUS!!!
Doc Rich, I am glad you enjoyed Charlie Daniels. He is one of the best
Something that few people remember is that the devil has no power but what we give him. So, if you ordered him to lose, he'd have to lose.
I’m not betting anything for my soul!! Don’t have to think a second about it!
Charlie Daniels Rest In Peace. True American Patriot
Another great review. I enjoy your reactions. I've listened to songs like this my whole life.
Crypt feat Vin Jay "Devil went down to Hip-hop" 😏
Rest in Peace Charlie 🇺🇸
I LOVE THIS SONG
in the unlikely event that I thought I had any skill in which I even might best a supernatural immortal being, I don't think I'd risk my soul against mere gold, no matter how much. A billion dollars ain't worth a soul.
But I think even Johnny might agree, and it was sheer pride that made him bet, and some have suggested that the Devil knew this and since of course you can't really bet your soul away the devil's whole plan was just to get Johnny to embrace sinful pride and so he won after all.
A Great classic!!!!
Charlie Daniels LATER Gave his LIFE to G-D, and at the age of 55+, became an-'Ordained Minister', & he...'CHANGED' that lyric to- 'I done told you once, you 'Son-of-a-Gun, I'm the BEST that's ever been. I LOVE a HAPPY ENDING !!!
If I could play a Fiddle like Charlie Daniel's I take that Devil up on that bet in a heartbeat.
This is my favorite reaction video to this song. Very enjoyable. Keep doing what you do.
This was the first concert I ever went to. It was at SPAC and I was about 9. My father and Charlie were friends. Got to backstage and hang out with him for a while. Met and talked to him many times after that. Great, kind man who loved his country. Miss him and my Dad. RIP
What will it profit a man if he gain the world and lose his soul..... don't take the bet lol
This isn't a deal with the devil, it's a bet and there's a difference.
In the deal, you sell you soul to gain the world.
In the bet, you get the world and keep your soul or lose everything.
It's all or nothing, probably still shouldn't do it though xD
Um...A golden fiddle. Weren't you listening?
yup!! the devil doesn’t play fair and eternity is a loooooong time. no amount of wealth or power is worth losing your soul.
I wish I could like this video twice. I love this song and I love your reaction to it! I've watched a few of your reactions and they were great too.
As I have said, To me this is country rap, I love it and I love your reaction to it.
That man knew how to make that fiddle sing......
Nothing is worth loosing your soul even the $100 million. Heaven is worth way more than that!
rip charlie. one of a kind
brought so mnay to country in 1979
RIP TO CHARLIE DANIELS!!!!!!! What an awesome musician and from what I hear an even better man.
Saratoga is a town in upstate NY and has a beautiful venue that is part of a state park. Charlie toured the northeast like crazy from the mid 70’s to early 80’s. Very popular. 80 years old now and toured last year as well.....
Calling the devil a son of a bitch after wiping the dirt with him is the ultimate mic drop.
I've listened to this ever since I was a kid and strangely I like the devil's part more 😂
Me too always have always will
Saaaaaame.
😈👍
RIP Charlie Daniels
It's more than likely he meant Don't Let The Devil Get Your Soul or Don't Let The Devil Win!!!! Yep I thought that too!!! He rocked this song !!!
when he says.....i told you once, you sob im the best that ever lived. gives me chills
Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are usually right!
I grew up on classics like this.
Yep, take the bet Johnny!!! GOD ALWAYS WINS!!!
When Johnny starts playing, he says Devil don't know he's in the house of the "Rising Son". Not sun.
Every time I watch this music video, I'm amazed by the fact that the fiddle doesn't burst into flames while he's playing it...
There is a 2nd part, the devil went Back down to Georgia
You said what's you amount? Sometimes it's not about the amount! Devil or not it's about you as man! "I will take your bet and you gunna regret I'm the bestvtgats ever been"!!!!!! Word!!!!
I've been told by people that play the violin/fiddle, the devils part is actually harder to play then Johnny's part.
It is in a way.
Andrez J it’s multiple notes at a faster pace
Johnny is just like Michael Jordan , he confident he the best and he confident he can beat anyone
Johnny didn't suffer from a lack of confidence. He could bring it!
Johnny is the fucking man. Even as a young kid.
He passed away today
RIP Charlie
Charlie daniel bro he was nominated the fastest violin player he also has other songs one of them is long hair country boy and stroker ace made him more known
Hey Doc, I love your analysis! No bets with the devil; he lies.
MY FAVORITE SONG EVER; KNOW ever word...When I was a kid I loved it bcs I could say Son of a Bitch lmao
Johnny had an abundance of confidence in his fiddle playing but no, I'm not taking the dare, not for a hundred million dollars because if I lose I lose something of far more value. I am watching this for the first time on 11/19/2021 and the big news today is the young people who were trampled to death at the Travis Scott concert. When I saw that massive crowd there enjoying Charlie Daniels I couldn't help but make a comparison between the Charlie Daniels concert and the Travis Scott concert. Maybe that's one reason I am a country music fan. I enjoyed your reaction and I would love to see you react to Johnny Cash "Hurt" or "Here Comes that Rainbow Again"; Home Free, "Man of Constant Sorrow", or George Jones, "He Stopped Loving Her Today." New subscriber from Nashville.
Could you imagine that many people want to see play? It's nut......
I'm gonna leave that devil alone😂😂
The moment he realized they weren’t playing 😂😂
I went to go and look at your subscribers and expected to see only like 5 or 6 hundred thousand subscribers but instead I actually get to see a number that you have deserved for the longest 1.3 Milly congratulations bro you have deserved it for the longest really and truly by now in my eyes you should be at like 3.3 milly
Interesting little know fact about this song. There are 2 versions of it. The FM version where Johnny said the line "I done told you once you son of a bitch" and the AM version is "you son of a gun".
A man's got know his worth, those that do will take that bet hands down.
Thank you.Really.Thank you.
