During a break, the lead singer started to brag that their band was the only band in the area that had an electric fiddle (this was back in the 80's). He was so proud of this and he invited anyone to make a request of him and his electric fiddle. I timidly approached the stage (8 years old at the time) and requested "Devil went down to Georgia". (The version you played didn't show it, but in the album version, the Devil's part was done with an electric fiddle). The lead singer told me "You know, son, I have looked everywhere but I can't find the sheet music for that song. So I'm afraid I don't know how to play it." With a sad, disappointed face, I turned and went back to join my mother at our table, but not before asking the question," What's the use of having an electric fiddle if you can't play 'Devil went down to Georgia'?" The guy's bandmates were rolling on the stage laughing and my mother tried to crawl under our table.

A Fiddle and a Violin are the same instrument! Only difference is the type of music it's producing!♥️
Saratoga Georgia is where they played. You think it might resemble the first early rap? Some commenters thought that it did. Glad you guys enjoyed it.
The fiddle is made of pure gold and gold is around $2,000 an ounce, soooo... Bring it on devil!!!
In country music a ‘violin” is a fiddle.. 😎❤️
I really like songs like this that tell a story
@1:35... they call it a fiddle
Mr Charlie Daniel's💖💖💖💖
You were correct young lady. A fiddle is a violin. They call it a fiddle in the American South.
Charlie Daniel's was from my neck of the woods in the Carolinas!
One of the greatest fiddle players ever
The fiddle player's name is Charlie Daniels, lead singer of The Charlie Daniels Band!
I had a violin,it was my sisters. Her school band instrument. Proudly at the age of 6. I learned mary had a lil lamb before her. She was 10. Lol. Only thang i can play lol
They are identical in their physical appearance. What distinguishes a from a is the style of music that is played on the instrument; it's all in how you play it. ... , in contrast, is associated with a wide variety of music styles including Cajun, bluegrass, folk, and country.
Rest in peace Charlie Danials.

Great reaction! I think the violin is the only instrument that has a different name depending upon how you play it. It is played very fast in Blue Grass & Country music, and it is called a Fiddle. In Blue Grass (which is like a subcategory of Country, maybe) the fiddle is a prominent instrument.
Doobie Brother's had a violin in their band. So did the band Kansas.
In country its a fiddle. A violin has strings, a fiddle has strangs
