Hello everyone
in today’s video I’m gonna show you the shrouds device.
You can see it in Titanic, Californian and Carpathia.
It looks like this when built.
And this is what it looks like before assembling
I’m gonna show you how it looks like on the Titanic
ratlines are the horizontal lines
vertical ones are shrouds
fore
aft
hope you can see it better now
why to use this device
when we put shrouds on mast, it’s difficult to space horizontal threads evenly
and this device makes it much easier
I’m gonna show you what it looks like on a real ship
hope you can see it
you have to admit it looks spectacular
and when it’s made precisely, the model looks much better
later in this video i will show you how to make this device
and how to fix the threads to make something like that
especially for filming this video, the tool has been enlarged
and the thread is much too thick
it makes it easier for you to see how to do that
this tool is two-sided
you can make two shrouds/ratlines in one go
or just one if you prefer so
this device you can use over and over again
i used it before, you can see the threads sticking out
you can peel them off and use it as many times as you like
shrouds look different on each of those models - Titanic, Californian and Carpathia
that’s why in each of the three models, this tool is slightly different
it usually differs by these small slots, how many shrouds the ship has, two or four ...
and those marks which show us where the ratlines should end

Carpathia’s device as an example
1. Wytnij wszystkie części.
Cut out all the parts.
2. Sklej części i zostaw do wyschnięcia na kilka godzin.
Glue all the parts together and allow the glue to dry out for a few hours.
3. Przygotuj drucik, który łatwo zagiąć
Prepare a wire that is easy to bend
4. odetnij dwa odcinki
cut off two pieces
5. Zagnij jedną końcówkę
bend one end
6. ... zagnij drugą
... and the other one
7. wsuń drucik do otworu w przyrządzie i przyklej za pom. kawałka papieru
slide the wire into the hole in the device and glue it using a piece of paper
8. Przyrząd jest dwustronny - możesz jednocześnie to samo wykonać po drugiej stronie
The device is two-sided - you can do the same on the other side at the same time

10. długi kawałek nitki złóż na pół i zawiąż pętelkę trochę większą niż średnica masztu
Fold a long piece of thread in half and tie a loop a little larger than the diameter of the mast
11. Zamocuj pierwszą wantę
Attach the first shroud
12. przyklej za pom. kawałka papieru
glue it using a piece of paper
13. to samo wykonaj z kolejnymi wantami
do the same with rest of the shrouds
14. wyblinki

16. maszty są różne. Kreski pokazują, w którym miejscu kończą się wyblinki.
the masts are different. The marks show where the ratlines end.
17. Przyklej wyblinki do want używając minimalnej ilości kleju
Glue the ratlines to the shrouds using the minimum amount of glue
18. zostaw do wyschnięcia na cały dzień/noc.
Allow the glue to dry out for a whole day/night.
19. wytnij gotową część

20. odetnij na bokach

21.odwiń nadmiar nitki
undo the excess thread
22. Ostatnie poprawki

23. Gotowe do założenia na maszt
