I’m watching this video in 2024, sad cause baatin and dilla are gone, but their music continues to live on, SV is one of the greatest groups. Fantastic vol 2 is one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Long live SV!
Dilla was SUPER ahead of his time DJing the set on 2 MPCs. No doubt in my mind, he would've been rocking out with an MPC Live, SP-404 or something else if he was still here
That Dilla flow is so raw
The quality of the sound coming from the MPC direct and Dilla controlling the sound is so powerful. Any other footage is not this strong. The crowed is hyped! The timing of vocals is perfection. Priceless. If you notice before 'Tell Me' Baatin gets excited as Dilla pressed the MPC

Thank you soooo much for sharing Jon. I was a student back then a a local University. Fridays at St. Andrews were epic, and it was only $8 to get to see Slum perform all of this live! Incredible, and sometimes they'd have The Roots, Dela, Tribe & Common with them and a host of other Detroit greats, like Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson & a yung eLzhi. Man that was a great time to be alive.

I was on Slum Village show in Prague, club Roxy on 12.2.2006, 2 days after he passed. T3 and Elzhi totally nailed it!!! Not a single standing still person there. Unforgetable night. Spirit was there. J Dilla as great for music and art as MJ. Peace out.
