😍 That's wonderful ~~~ I wish I could see your strawberry candy pictures..hehe maybe next time.. if you try my recipes, please hashtag me #aeriskitchen at Instagram or facebook. 😉 Thanks
Although i cant remember many words, the middle schools in my area have a yearly exchange program with Korea. its always really great to see them (im in middle school now, but my brother still takes part in it) and we learned some of the language, culture, and alphabet. my best friend visited Korea too. i think it sparked my love for the asian cultures, and my other friend is still a big fan of Kpop :)
Those candied strawberries look so yummy. I'm not very fund of fresh strawberries(I know, I'm weird) but I can easily enjoy eating this way. In Japan esp during any kind of fairs, street venders sell sour tangerines this way, usually candy coating is a lot thicker and stick to our teeth with bright pink color. I never thought of making same kind of goody using strawberries. Thanks for inspiration!! Your son is sooo adorable.
awww i see what others mean by the little boy eating at the end of the video. haha he is so cute and food looks delicious. im vietnamese and want to learn some korean dishes. my bf is korean so its good to know some. :)
Since I don’t have a thermometer I’ve failed like 100 times making candied strawberries. I’ve tried few difference recipes and methods but yours is the only one that actually worked !!! Thankyou ! X
Yes! Asking for recipe or even a video to show how to make potato pancake(; I'm living in Singapore now and going to Korea soon for school trip(; after watching ur videos I am really excited to go there and try all the food that you have been making in your channel(: thanks!
I remember eating these at Cheongju (청주) in South Korea. They were really sweet because weirdly, Korean strawberries are very sweet, NO tartness at all. They were one of the foods that I just can't forget eating in Korea in 2008.
Just made these! I don't know if I'm seeing things or not, but when I put the strawberry into the sugar water, it seemed to get more vibrant. Also, when you bite into these, they have a perfect amount of crunch and the strawberry juice just is overwhelming. Had a bit of trouble keeping them on the skewers though. So good, a must try!
I made a small batch of these today to test them, and they were great ^.^ I'm so surprised I didn't mess up the syrup. Thank you for sharing it, I will be making these in the future for my Korean boyfriend!
In France there is an appetizer called hard cherry tomatoes, we did dip cherry tomatoes in caramel and then in black or white sesame you should try it, it is very delicious!!!
My heart was pounding when Bryson was skewering the strawberries. (I thought he was going to poke himself. Really glad he didn't.) If the sugar hardens in the pot, will it stick in it? If it does, how do we get it out and clean the pot?
I truly appreciate your concern and good advice. Yes, sometimes, I trust my son's ability or careful character too much. Anything can happen in any time to those little boys. I will try to be more careful in the future. Thanks. Love you too. :)
I had just asked my self has anyone ever made candy covered Strawberry's n u poped up this looks delish and for Halloween I'm going to try it with my lil ones along with candy apples. love the video can't wait to try it!!!!:-)
I tried that too..but while you are pouring the syrup.. it becomes hard quickly.. so unless you pour a lot at once evenly to the strawberry.. (if you pour the syrup to the strawberry different times..) you will get bumps on the strawberry candies.. I mean not smooth surface.. if you experience it you will know what i mean..
Whooa, this looks fun to make! I think I will make this for my eonnie :-) She likes strawberries, so this is perfect! Thank you for this video! ^^ Bryson is so cute keke :3
if we want to do this to blueberries or other berries, since they are much smaller, how would you recommend us dipping them in the syrup? skewers might be hard.
Firstly, I just found your channel, and I love your videos! I was wondering if you could just dip the covered strawberries in cold water like you did with the toothpick to harden the syrup?
Can you tell me if it was good? like 1-10? I wanna make some for my friends and family :) and was the outside super crunchy and the inside like a regular strawberry?
If the temperature is not high enough..and if you don't cook the sugar long enough..that can happen..that's why I showed the way to check the sugar syrup.. dip some with a toothpick and dip it in cold water.. the texture of sugar on toothpick is what you will get on the strawberry..
If you boil the sugar in hot water, it will melt... like dissolve the sugar..then it will be easy to clean later. It is better to do this right after you are done cooking the sugar..
we have something like this in Mexico...but instead of strawberries, they're apples and omg they are delicious!!! nom nom (X I am so trying it with strawberries, thank you! (:
Guys this maybe turn into hard sugar after it’s because you need to use CORN SYRUP I have tried several times with just sugar and water but it never worked but when I tried with corn syrup it finally worked! Just some advice 🙃
As I mentioned in my video.. you need to check your sugar syrup while you are boiling.. if you over cook..or too high temperature .. the problem you had happens..
Thank you! I made these today and it work beautifully! So so yummy and perfect crunch . I didn’t know it was achievable without corn syrup ! Thanks !
😍 That's wonderful ~~~ I wish I could see your strawberry candy pictures..hehe maybe next time.. if you try my recipes, please hashtag me #aeriskitchen at Instagram or facebook. 😉 Thanks
Thank you so much! All the other recipes use corn syrup, which i dont have. These came out amazing and my friends loved them. Tysm
That's awesome ~~~ :) Thanks 😃
Oooh, Unni! I love this...simple and delicious + fresh strawberries? win win!
Dip the fruit in the syrup is the best way for the best shape.. that way you coat it evenly...
this is so easy no need to use corn syrup this is amazing
Guys this works!!!! Just make sure to dry your strawberries very well before putting the sugar on them
Awesome, NickiD :D
Aeri you were ahead of everyone’s time by making tanghulu!

Thank you! When I visited China a few years back they has these in the food courts. This was one of the neatest things to see on display.
Yes, I've never been in China before.. but it must be came from China to Korea. :) We have this in Korea too.
I made a small batch of these today to test them, and they were great ^.^ I'm so surprised I didn't mess up the syrup. Thank you for sharing it, I will be making these in the future for my Korean boyfriend!
They make these with hawthorn during winter where my mom comes from in China- it's sooo good and cold and awesome!
These are also sold as street food in Chile. I LOVE them. Now, I can make them for myself. :) Thank you!

+Aeri's Kitchen I will, Aeri. BTW, do you have a recipe up on how to make pumpkin porridge?
My heart was pounding when Bryson was skewering the strawberries. (I thought he was going to poke himself. Really glad he didn't.) If the sugar hardens in the pot, will it stick in it? If it does, how do we get it out and clean the pot?
these are so simple to make. I wish I had known that before i paid 4 bucks for one at EPCOT

I truly appreciate your concern and good advice. Yes, sometimes, I trust my son's ability or careful character too much. Anything can happen in any time to those little boys. I will try to be more careful in the future. Thanks. Love you too. :)
i love how you say 'obtain'. so perfect and classy :)
These are definitely a fun treat to bring to a potluck! Thank you!
You can use toothpick.. one per one berry. Just dip it in the syrup.
I had just asked my self has anyone ever made candy covered Strawberry's n u poped up this looks delish and for Halloween I'm going to try it with my lil ones along with candy apples. love the video can't wait to try it!!!!:-)
+Latangela Gaba Kuehe ^^ Thanks for your comment. Hope your little ones love it.
Your welcome and they did we had also coated apples as well they were great.

Hi, how long do these last? Should I put them in the fridge ?
I love how you share little bits of korea to us!! Bryson is growing up to be so handsome, I just want to pinch his little cheeks!
If the temperature is not high enough..and if you don't cook the sugar long enough..that can happen..that's why I showed the way to check the sugar syrup.. dip some with a toothpick and dip it in cold water.. the texture of sugar on toothpick is what you will get on the strawberry..
good idea.. thanks :)

I tried to make the sugar but the water had dissolved & i was left with white hard sugar 😂😂
oops ~~~ yes you have to do quickly before the sugar becomes hard like rock. 😅
Omg me too 😂😂
It has something to do with water on the inside of the pot... washing it down... I heard on another video.
Liking for the cute little baby laugh at the end
Thanks to you, it reminded me about that part and watched again.. thanks.. yes so cute ~~~ :)
Guys this maybe turn into hard sugar after it’s because you need to use CORN SYRUP I have tried several times with just sugar and water but it never worked but when I tried with corn syrup it finally worked! Just some advice 🙃
Wow, that's a healthy street food
As I mentioned in my video.. you need to check your sugar syrup while you are boiling.. if you over cook..or too high temperature .. the problem you had happens..
