- Here are 2 of David Austin rose varieties that are both in really LARGE size of blooms though their petal counts are under 100. Both are heavily scented, Abraham Darby topping in smell category in my collections I think, for now.
Abraham Darby here is a year old bush, while Golden celebration is just a 3 months old specimen planted bare root. Both are potted and seem to thrive. Hope you enjoy this video.

@@IsshaGreenThumbing Inam using Abraham Darbys pollen a lot. I am trying to use it as a seed parent also, but that doesn’t work quite as well.

Wow....I have both roses own root (GC in a pot and AD in the ground) and the blooms never looked that large. It really surprised me seeing the blooms be that large with such fat buds.
Howdy! I have to be consistent with watering and fertilizing. AD specially is a water hug!

@@everettedl Sorry for the late reply. No, I used the largest garden pot for Abraham Darby. I just improvised its external look.

What kind of potting soil do you use? Do they have any disease now that a year has passed?
I used Miracle grow double bloom potting mix and of course bone meal upon planting. This spring. I removed the most dirt that I could get to replenish the pot with new mix, still the same potting soil. Its health has also improved, few leaves with sawfly but I just snip them off quickly to control infestation.
Don't you spray weekly against pests and diseases?

Hello there! My Abraham Darby is grafted and pot placement is at the South side of my house where it gets the most sun all through out the day, pretty much full sun.
