honestly, i’ve always seen game changer and other dropout shows of that kind as comedy shows, rather than game shows. they just don’t feel as sadistic- they feel like a bunch of friends playing a game, rather than anything else.
Its cause theyre all friends and family. Their affection for each other comes through the screen, really. Its better than other game shows. All of Dropout is super good. The moment from game changers where theyre in the green room escape room and lou starts yelling bababooey and smashes a lamp pops into my head daily, its just so iconic and hilarious
Gamechanger is a sport played by professionals who get paid no matter what with some gain to be had after winning. They still have a job and monetary gain no matter the outcome. Game shows are everyday joes trying to win life changing prizes. They just arent as comparable. I agree with your point but as far as entertainment it just isnt a solid point of veiw. But yes. Exploiting poor people isnt great

I appreciate how Game Changer is a shake up of both competitive shows and panel shows where it has a much more collaborative emphasis
