Saying "This is still a rather basic setup" 30 minutes into an hour long video that has more effects than I use in a normal project shows the amount of knowledge you have lol.
Randomisation with arpeggiators and velocity is rather basic, the main premise of racks like these is just a lot of duplication, chain selection and mapping
hell yeah long vid, time to activate my longer than 5-min attention span for this lol. also the basic shapes knuckle tats are dope dude, that's a great idea
Ableton definitely needs to pay attention to Virtual Riot because it uses all the functionality of the program 100%. He would make a great demo track of Ableton Live for the next version.
@@josealejandrogarciarojas1115 I agree. I would like to add that in our business, practice is the best teacher. This is probably why Virtual Riot makes music, samples and training videos so well. ;)
I love these videos so much because if you are used to VR just being a genius you start to notice that he just genuinely enjoys talking about nerdy shit like this
Mans just like fuck ai i will generate melodies myself lol this is absolutely insane man, hope you have fun making your new album and these patreon drops have been nuts ive been messing with them over the past week now and feel like ive barely scratched the surface of the stuff in there but gonna give this a go now this blew my mind!!!
I'm just waiting for that day when Virtual Riot builds an entire song generator in Ableton and starts pumping out infinite albums, each one corresponding to a different "breed" of random seeds xD
As someone who has struggled with writing chord progs/melodies automating MIDI parameter is such a god send. While online generators are great I 100% agree programming your own provide infinite flexibility. The only downside is the amount of time it takes to build these types of generators, but I guess you can't have you're cake and it it too :b
This is cool. You can also add MIDI note length as well as instead of rendering it to wav, render it to MIDI notes instead. Then just drop in any sound you wish
thank you so much for the devices.❤ i am glad i don't need to do them from scratch and can have starting templates. little addition from my side and in case you are not aware: if you want to use the midi for another instrument instead of exporting a audio loop, you can actually capture the midi on a empty midi channel and save the midi information. so you can customize the note lenght or pitch and velocity even further to your taste or apply midi clip automation to it and use a completely different instrument.
Can somebody explain what the difference is between using the transpose knob on the Scale device vs the transpose knob on the pitch device after the Scale device? reference 16:00
Yes! More content from you, right before my birthday month too! I’m so happy to hear you’re working on an album, just cranking out tunes. Take your time with that stuff, will be patiently waiting and supporting your craft!! Hoping to hear some of the insane generative stuff you’ve been doing in full with that album / singles! Also, question if you read this VR, will new merch be coming soon…? 👀
Ich bekomm jedes mal bock Musik zu machen, wenn ich deine Videos sehe :) Kanns kaum erwarten, deine neuen Tracks zu hören :D Danke für deine Tutorials, sie machen nen Unterschied
Let me have a look at that real quick! It's the 3rd post from the top and its set to "public" and available to everybody, subscribed or not. How does it show up on your end?
Hey VR i like this kind of Videos very much. I don´t know if i´m the only one, but is there somebody else who want´s a Tutorial for 8-bit/ chiptune sounds? For me that would be very interesting, also very kompact Greetings from Germany
52:14 is the closest thing we have to an Au5 & Virtual Riot collab Actually listening to it again it kinda sounds like it came from Bridges Virtual Riot remix of Au5's Bridges when
Haha I haven’t heard that one before but I love that phrase. The reward here is that if you’ve sharpened it good enough (which does take some time) you’ll be able to cut a lot of trees in that one hour.
I need to join this Patreon. I will soon enough. I have some other stuff on my plate to fix. I did some stuff with your boy Modestep tho. That riddim rack was amazing for generating patterns for basses and hi hats: unfortunately I did nothing and for some reason it broke. I might have to re-build it hahah
Dude these racks are great but I think you’re at the point where you ought to give max for live a shot. Some of the things you’re doing could be better done in that environment imo! Not to mention the CPU you’ll save that way. Just a thought :)
@@Audiomuscle For real! I'm actually super impressed when I see someone commit to making these racks in Live. But i'm also aware of how limited they can be when working on such a big idea. Would just love to see how far he can take his ideas without the limitations posed by racks.
You could also use the Arp with Rando, scale aware , 7 steps +1 sd and play with retriever amounts to limit the range. You could then add a Pitch device and randomize the octave. No need for 8 chains I think.
How to make sure though that the Arp on Random plays the notes in the same random order every time though, I think this rack with 8 (or 16) chains method is the only way to “store” and recall randomized patterns.

Posting them on my Patreon today :)

Dont just watch. Put it in to practice.

Hi, My name Virtual Riot & Today we're gonna make abelton make melodies for us🎹
I'm confident VR just is AI at this point, so smart and innovative
who else just watched the video and lost track of what was going on at some point through LMAO
Is the pitch module mode function new in the new in Ableton 12. I can't find it in 11. Anyone know of a good workaround?
Thanks so much for the video, is there a way to do this in ableton 11? i notice the pitch midi device does not have the fold/block option, thanks!!
If you’re ever feeling cocky, just watch a VR video
You're unbelievable. Seriously man, you're truly something special.

Is it okay to make songs completely out of one pack? Like people will probably tell me something like "did you just plagiarize VR"😂
I love your personality you’re so kind and humble
the only logical step after this is to create a random full song generator
