Kickboxing is really cool and practical to learn if you're fast, agile and small but for bigger and meatier guys we might have to rely on Muay Thai simply because we'll have a better chance of defending and delivering devastating kicks
You can use many kicks in Muay Thai, but the thing is that, you SHOULDN'T use many of them most of the time. Most of the time, teep and rounhouse kick are the most effective
I've been to both a muay thai gym and a kickboxing gym with both being very very similar. They both have technical sparring, they both use shins (with the exception of kickboxing's larger variety), and the boxing aspect is exactly the same with the standard jab, cross, hook, uppercut. Surprisingly though I felt that the footwork in muay thai was wayyyy more intricate than in kickboxing. The angle switches, bobbing/weaving, and the steps into kicks were better utilized in my opinion? Also, with knees being involved clenching is a lot more fun and with clenching comes the obvious angle switches and constant turning to counteract the opponent. So I feel like in a way muay thai is better BUT if you were to combine aspects of both in your fighting routine its super fun. The ability to toss an occasional question mark or spin kick on top of those chopping muay thai leg kicks makes for some insanely entertaining combos.

Kickboxing is really cool and practical to learn if you're fast, agile and small but for bigger and meatier guys we might have to rely on Muay Thai simply because we'll have a better chance of defending and delivering devastating kicks
MUAY THAI 😁
I love it how Thaiboxing it still counts as strikepoints even if your kicks get blocked
Muay thai is definitly something I would like to learn
do it 🥊🔥 you won't regret it!
Dutch kickboxing over Muay Thai. Volume of strikes over clinching
Are you sure?
Dutch Kickboxing VS Muay Thai
Dutch Kickboxing + Muay Thai= Beast
MT is simply a perfected version of kickboxing
Kickboxing uses elbows and knees aswell
From when.? Only maybe in glory kickboxing but still elbow is prohibited
@@saraths6842 in my old kickboxing we where trained to elbow but not knee
@@tomvanderveldo_2047that was prob so that If you would want to compete in muay thai rules
As a boxer,i can say if you fight someone who knows muay thai, run away, they hit too hard, and can even break bones
Kick boxing is about the fundamentals of combos lol. I wouldn't say it's a variety of kicks
I am a kickboxer and i usually combine my styles like karate with muay thai
Both are great Martial arts. But I gotta say. Muay Tai training is just on another level. The raw training methods of Thailand is insane.
Looking at the kickboxing stuff, Mauy Thai has all that except for the Variety of kicks and that may just be a teacher thing.
You can use many kicks in Muay Thai, but the thing is that, you SHOULDN'T use many of them most of the time. Most of the time, teep and rounhouse kick are the most effective
"You can't fight if you don't have a head" - Muay Thai trainer
i do kickboxing, we use elbows and knees as well
True
both are good in their own way in my opinion
Love this 2, but i perfer Muay Thai it's more complete !
I,am coming from muay thai but power kicks are also in kickboxing i thnk thai boxers have advantage plus muay thai boxers are great strikers
Avarage boxer everyone
one leg kick puts your statement to rest
Why
@@AbdulazizACE Boxers arent trained to defend leg kicks. You could effectively win most fights based on keeping your range & throwing low kicks
@@tman4life01And Thai fighters dont have great head movement
@@iGadgetzz head movement isn’t going to protect you from having a dead leg
You make fighting in irl look like its a movie keep up the good work my G 👍💯💯
I'm gonna take Kickboxing as my Pick.
He fucking did Muay Thai, I been asking for that and Krav Maga for a month, hell yeah Muay Thai makes us little guys scary as fuck
the kickboxing he showed was american kickboxing. theres varieties of kickboxing, and ALOT of them, heres a few: Savate (french) Sayaw Ng Kamatayan, translation: dance of death (filipino kickboxing) Kyukoshin (japanese) and dutch.
Dutch Kickboxing is by far the best🔥
Kickboxing is an umbrella term, under which Muay Thai is included. It's like comparing the term "fruit" to "apple".
Muay Thai is kinda it's own combat sport with it's own rules and techniques but ok
@@tylergannon3377 Kickboxing isn't just one specific ruleset though.
Lol
Probably the japanese or dutch style
Kickboxing also does knees but depends on the rules by judge🤷♂️
Yes and also sweep
Muay Thai and kickboxing is basically the same thing but Muay Thai adds some other stuff to make it even more tough
I would love to learn Muay Thai but I don't have a clue where to start. I live in Los Angeles and I'm sure there are gyms all over but I'm broke. Hopefully I can get my finances straight cause learning Muay Thai is a must.
You can search tutor video on youtube and practice, you may do it wrong but if you keep learning and practice you will have correct form
Go offer to work for the instructors for free in exchange of doing a class. No trainer will refuse that. I do Muay Thai and the trainers/senior guys are some of the most humble helpful people I’ve ever met. They will
Gladly help you, if you are willing. Gd luck
@@jaseperi I second this. 3 years of muay thai under my belt but couldnt afford the classes anymore. head coach let me take over 3 of the kids classes a week to train for free
I would do muay Thai because it's stronger and helps me defend myself and protect people
Rather fight a Muay Thai fighter then a boxer, now if we’re talking highest level, a boxer I’ll be knocked out faster and will be able to walk the next day 😂
Muay thai guy will destroy you worse than a boxer, he’ll kick the crap out of you

Muay Thai > Kick Boxing
I've been doing both for 8 years and thing they are such a good combination.
What's the basic difference between them?
Man this song really fits to the vid lolol
Mauy thai for life 🙏 live love and breath it
Kickboxing sends someone to the hospital
muay thai beats someone even after death
Kickboxing+Muay Thai=Amazing
I’ll personally take kickboxing, with my height and size , I wanna be super volume puncher but be able to use my legs as well
To be honest if you’re usually bigger than your opponent, I would suggest Muay Thai and learn the clinch, if you can become excellent at the clinch, your opponents will be in for a rough time, but kickboxing is also pretty good
@@redheadslush5270 if your taller you shouldn’t be in a clinch tho?
@@Nelkz39CFC I mean the taller person would have more leverage seeing as they would be pulling down on you, also if you’re taller usually that means you’ll be also heavier and that would sometimes make it harder to knock a bigger person down. The taller people would also have the advantage where it would be easier to knee your opponent higher up on their body.
Although if you’re shorter and have a lot more skill compared to your taller opponent then you should easily win, but if you’re at the same skill level as your opponent, the taller fighter has the advantage
@@redheadslush5270 yh but the shorter person would usually want to penetrate your range and put them selves in a more comfortable position
@@Nelkz39CFC that… is a good point. I guess being shorter comes with good advantages, but bigger size comes with advantages too which would give a smaller opponent a tough time
Everything alright but neither Kickboxers nor Thais are known for their defense, I'd even say most of them suck at defense (there are exceptions like Saenchai, a master mind).
How many fighting styles do you master?
Him: Yes.
He's mastered none and taken barely any
Both definitely both depending on my mood
Kickboxing : knockout
Muay thai : death
Muay Thai all day everyday. And if I was a professional fighter I would study this as well as Brazilian style jiu-jitsu. These two things will make you the best well-rounded fighter
*Lethwei and Catch Wrestling (CACC)
Every martial art has their kryptonite.
@@arianlatifi5492 eh lethwei isn't very technical. It's more like go in the ring and go ape shit vs muay thai were they're technical and playful, playing smart.
Muay thai is gonna have to take the vote here.
As for catch wrestling and jiu jitsu I'm not sure. Not really informed on catch wrestling than jiu jitsu but there must be a reason jiu-jitsu is mma favorite/norm than catch wrestling haha.
