- For this game we'll be trying out some of the new Commander options from Outlaws of Thunder Junction with Gisa, the Hellraiser vs. Roxanne, Starfall Savant vs. Bonny Pall, Clearcutter vs. Kellan, the Kid!

Plot only lets you play the card as a sorcery, so the Arcane Denial trick wasn’t legal…but it was still clever. New card mechanics…amirite?
Yeah! At least it didn't really change the outcome.
@@TheDankestDungeon Also, the Arcane Denial wasn't even on the stack at the time to be targeted by the Aven Interrupter, it was still a 'card' in the graveyard and not a 'spell'. They could have targeted the Cling to Dust instead.
@@TheDankestDungeon Oh, yeah! I hate being “that guy,” but I’ve never caught anything in a video before! 😂 If I ever recorded a game, I’m sure I’d have a TON of illegal plays that people would be able to point out! Great video!
Also cling to dust was targeting the arcane denial, so it hadn’t been cast yet. Aven Interrupter targets spells so it couldn’t have targeted Arcane Denial.

Kellan had pro blue at the end because of the sword, so it shouldn't have been stolen by the roil elemental. It was still a good game, though. Keep up the great work.
Roil Elemental isn't doing the targeting, so it gets around it I believe.

@TheDankestDungeon I'm pretty sure it doesn't get around it. Suspension field is worded pretty similarly, and it doesn't get around protection

Interrupter can only target spells on the stack. The Arcane Denial was not a legal target. Damn Wizards trying to save fractions of pennies on ink by cutting out words.

Commander is a casual format .. most places let you mull for a keepable hand of 7
Not where I play. Just build a consistent deck and you should be fine within one of 2 mulligans 99% of the time.
