Wait why didn’t Phil cast the portal to phyrexia and sheoldred?
Crim had a kill on most of the table exiled with Rakdos he could have cast on his turn. Seth could kill Crim before Crim got his turn, but he needed his commander for that. Since it was his only creature, and Portal and Sheoldred both make all opponents sacrifice creatures, Seth asked Phil to pass on the value of casting them to allow Seth to kill Crim, and save Phil (and Richard) in the process, and Phil agreed, as much as it hurt him to leave value on the table. It's slightly better than dying.

Agreed. Although I'd love to see twice as many games per episode just to see a bit more variance and an underdog commander show a bit more off in round 2!

I *love* the new Gitrog. However, hear me out. Play Thalia and the Gitrog Monster, with the new Gitrog Monster in the 99. That way, you can have Thalia riding The Gitrog Monster mount the new one so Thalia is riding Gitrog that is riding Gitrog.
Thalia and the Gitrog monster is the kind of commander that loses you friends though haha.

@@casteanpreswyn7528 eh, any kind of Stax in the Command zone is gonna piss people off, and Non-basics and creatures entering tapped is a *rough* piece of Stax, especially for commanders with haste.
@@signspace13 this is called "bad threat assessment". If someone has a stax piece in the command zone, but their deck is a 2, someone getting upset over it is just bad at the game.

I have it in my version I just made for the new Gitrog, and surprise, surprise, it's probably the best card in the deck. Tbf though, if there was ever a deck to play Field of the Dead in, it's this one.

Thank you for not playing precons this time. It's one thing I've always loved about the Commander Clash during pre-release week. Literally every other major EDH gameplay channel (and most smaller ones too) does the precons. It's so great to see someone do something different. Do play the commanders if you want, but just not the precon decks.
Why don't more people talk about this?
I'm torn. I loved seeing them play the LOTR precons since I was wondering whether I wanted to buy into them. So it was super worthwhile to me and I want others to have the same benefit, even if I don't care about this round of precons.
On the other hand, most precons I really do not care about. :D and the weeks with all precons, I either skip entirely or Its subpar anyways.
Tough call.

Look at the stream/replay archives for when he pulled out the "Saffron Goldmane" look the first time. It does look good on Seth, but after growing my own hair longer I totally understand why Seth keeps his hair tied up :D

I think you guys need a Richard intervention. I used to love watching him brew with left field ideas and sneak wins from advanced gameplay strategies. But lately his land-package-based deckbuilding and passive game strategy have become so monolithic it's getting boring. And annoying that the other players haven't adjusted yet to Richard's meta-gaming. Richard drew 9 cards in a single turn and nobody realized that was a threat?
On this week "Punt or Bluff?" Yippee-kay-yay! Will Crim draw pistols at dawn or will Phil ride off into the sunset? Tune-in to find out!
I swear y’all need to kill Richard because he is always the threat every single time. Also FotD is getting tiring and old. Regardless, this game was awesome to watch. Thanks for being such awesome content creators.

More cowboy than cowboy
Went to my LGS pre-release, it was the biggest disappointment, a very small crowd showed up. I’m used to seeing 50-100 people at pre-release. Lately Magic crowd is dead in my area except for the few commander players that get together once a week. There’s more One Piece, Pokemon, and Lorcana players than Magic players. What gives?
After several episodes of Paper magic instead of MTGO, I feel confident that I do prefer watching you all play paper! MTGO is difficult to see what is happening when watching on smaller devices (phones), and in paper the players tend to dictate their plays more, making a better passive listening experience! I’d love to see more paper games! I’m not as into MTGO play unless these problems can be fixed in the future, in which case I’m down to watch!
I'm a Make an Example believer
I wanted to use Richard's deck as a base for my own Obeka deck, but I noticed his decklist doesn't match the deck he played. Richard reveals Blasphemous Act at 35:40 , but that card isn't in his decklist in the article. Bummer.
They played Crim's commander wrong the whole game. Rakdos cares about mana value. Gitrog cares about power.
Richard is the only one playing Crim's colors, obviously he would be targetted by every single Crim stealing cards xD
