    • @lpg8518
      @lpg8518 3 года назад +1

      After you get your highlights done, just use a toner to do your roots and it will all blend in perfectly. They make this sound so complicated but that's all it is, highlights and roots.

    Hi, can you please tell me what’s the Formula 18 ?

  • @melgon25
    @melgon25 5 лет назад +4

    Does this vary a lot from just coloring the roots and then hilighting over that? I still keep my license but haven’t worked in a salon in quite some time. Usually we would color the roots and then hilight. But this is so pretty. Just trying to understand the difference. You have a gift! I never could quite grasp color formulations, you are an expert!

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  5 лет назад

      Yes! That’s to cover gray or to adjust their natural color! This is to soften!

  • @lpg8518
    @lpg8518 3 года назад +6

    This is basically highlights and toner on the roots. Of course, the formulation is what sounds complicated but after highlighting, any toner will blend everything together.

    • @kristimyers9419
      @kristimyers9419 2 года назад

      You need more than a toner- more of a deposit- like 10 volume

    How do I not get hot roots if my natural is a level 3-4 and my lights are a level 9?? I always feel like I get hot roots when someone root smudges my hair! Won’t the 10 developer always lift?? How do you deposit root smudge color without lifting?

    How doesn’t the dark root colour bleed into blonde during rinse?

  • @crystaldao920
    @crystaldao920 5 лет назад

    Hi there ! I am a new subscriber. I want to start of with letting you know, I am not a hair stylist and I have 0 knowledge about hair ! But i love watching and love getting my hair done. I’ve ran to a few problems while getting my hair done. I’m Not sure if it’s me not conveying what I want, the photos I’m providing, or my stylist. But one of my first questions is why is the back on her hair left undone ? And the reason why I ask this is... because mine is left undone. I have dark hair and I want this exact look when looking at the top layer. And I did let my stylist know I only want my roots dark. But when I lift up half my head I see similar results as yours. I would just like a better understanding on while my whole head doesn’t look the same ? As a customer, of course I don’t have the same knowledge as you guys. But also that leaves ... ignorance on my end in thinking my stylist messed up my hair or not understanding what I had wanted. I’m sorry if that sounds rude. I just want to understand the reasoning behind this. I love how the top layer looks and I figure it’s supposed to be like that through my whole head. Thank you !!

    • @crystaldao920
      @crystaldao920 5 лет назад

      And I watched part one and two! Thank you

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  5 лет назад

      You’re basically getting a partial highlight. I ask my clients what they want done, because a full highlight is more money. So typically I do a full, then a partial a few times, then a full. I would ask for a full highlight and bring pictures! Xoxo

    • @crystaldao920
      @crystaldao920 5 лет назад

      Alexsis Mae thank you so much for taking the time and replying ! I really appreciate it. I had show my artist photos of what I had wanted. And I was told that she can do it. And when I was done I did tell her that I had expected little to no roots and showed her i strands in the back that I didn’t want dark as well. And came back for a fix. But I can’t see the back of course until I go home and ask someone to lift up my hair to tell me... and I don’t know if I’m not conveying my wants correctly as well. I showed her a picture. And to be honest I didn’t know the photo I showed her was highlights.

    Brilliant.
    So am I right?
    Shades cream demi color
    Processing solution,
    Redken 12av perm color
    10 vol
    Wouldn’t that slightly lift any virgin hair it might touch?
    Please reply. So curious. Xoxoxo love this

    • @AlexsisMae

      The root color and toner are separated! I applied the root, then rinsed and did a toner.

    • @AlexsisMae
      @AlexsisMae  5 лет назад +1

    • @AlexsisMae

      One is a demi, and the other is kind of like a hybrid between a demi and permanent.

      This Is My issue!! No matter where I start, I always get it on pieces! And I've practice combing the smudge but I've always had better luck with just using my two fingers to smudge. When I comb I get spotting galore 😌

      Amari in a literal sense, yes. However, when painting dye on head it is considered horizontal because of the way your hair falls (vertically).
