My friend taught English in El Salvador and fell in Love with a Street dog living on papayas. She went back after her job was up, found her and brought her back to the Florida where she occasionally still ran off to eat papayas 😂

The level of love displayed by this woman would melt anyone's heart. She is not out of there, she is not home, she is not safe. But she made sure that Walter the cat is out of harm's away. She gave up her one comfort in that war zone so that this cat can live on, without knowing if she will. My God!
I addopted three Puerto Rican kittens that were found with their mother on the street by a kind woman. She had them all neutered and kept the mother and two kittens . I contacted her about adopting last three after she helped me with the process of shipping through Angels with Wings organization. They all found awsome homes and are doing great! 😸😸😸

I was going to comment about the animals here in the states that need rescuing, BUT that's not what this type of rescue is about. This is about the connection between an animal and a servicemen. It's about the mental health of those serving in a volatile environment, finding some comfort, and a few minutes of peace. The fact that there are veterans/a company in place, participating makes it clear that this is a necessity, and we need to honor our military members by helping them get their animals home. These animals are the epitome of emotional support service animals. We should find a way for it to not cost 10k.

He made it! That's beautiful for his adopted family. I just saw a video on cats in Gaza being rescued by Palestinians out from rubble of homes or accompanying their family to the hospitals and staying by their side. Pets are amazing and sad to think they experience trauma, too.
