    I installed this on my Ibanez to replace the preamp that had fallen into the guitar (it was squealing anyway) - lemme tell you, for a $70 popsicle stick, this thing is aMAYZing! The guitar unplugged
    is fairly stiff but though the system
    it *sings!* and clearly outperforms the preamp. A little tinkering at the soundboard will eliminate the electric-y sound. In fact I have both types, one for my Gianinni nylon-string. They both sound outstanding!

    Thanks for showing this. I was worried this only worked with nylon strings and a tie-on bridge. Do you really need to loosen the strings or will it just slide in?

    • @Edwin-E
      @Edwin-E  5 лет назад

      Hi, the model for classic guitar is different with acoustic steel strings. For nylon strings, you need NG-1. Yes, you need to loosen the strings in order to slide in the pickup.

      thanks. At the start of the video, I played "You" by Basil Valdes. But during the demo, I just played random tunes.

      @@Edwin-E It was rather similar to "Ode to my Family" by The Cranberries

    Once your back in tune will the pickup slide out? I would be worried of it falling out.

    • @Edwin-E
      @Edwin-E  4 года назад +1

      nope. The string tension holds it.

    When you say there needs to be a 2.5mm difference in height, do you mean the saddle has to be more than 2.5mm above the bridge or above the pickup?

    • @Edwin-E
      @Edwin-E  2 года назад +1

      saddle height - minimum 2.5mm above the bridge on treble side.

    Hello Edwin. This pickup seems exactly what I look for to amplify my hommel (an ancestor of the better known dulcimer). As I am constantly looking to push the sound possibilities of acoustic instruments, I would like to connect my distortion pedals to pickups like these. Is that possible (mind you, I have a noise gate with which I can suppress most feedback), or would that be too much for this kind of pickup? Hope you can help me out.

    • @Edwin-E
      @Edwin-E  3 года назад

      I am not experienced in using pedals. I just connect this pickup on my Line 6 amp and it gives good results.

    • @Edwin-E

      It is not recommended. There is minimum height of saddle required.

    Taylors built in pick up sucks. You wont get any volume. I tried the sound hole pick but due to its inconvenience i switched to kna sg 2 and now its more than okay. Taylor should improve their pick ups before installing one.
