I'm literally watching this at 3am...I assume it's like 8am (or 9am for this particular comment as it's almost 4am for me now) for Valrak.
The absence of wings and moving to units of three makes me a 100 percent confident you are right.
Honestly if the rumors sound like a flat downgrade and ruination of a beloved unit then it's highly likely to be true

If the primaris Sanguinary Guard lose the large wings, i can say for at least myself, and probably a lot of other BA players, will be kitbashed with some larger wings
It literally would make no sense to remove the wings. It's the literal theme of the Chapter. Angels without wings? What next? Remove the blood Drops? Not to mention the heaps uppon heaps of artwork that GW loves to recycle feature Sanguinary guard fighting in the back ground with their huge high-vis white wings. Here's hoping Val got fed the wrong rumor and the jump packs with small wings are the ones meant for DC
Only reason i can really see the doing it is that they are bringing sanguinius back and don't want the other models to overshadow him.
The new AoS stormcast eternals have some nice wings and otherwise drukhari scourges (but please let me pick some up first, I need two more squats before i'm not allowed to take any more)

The wings are not just decoration, they also increase the jump packs maneuverability. Hope that's no true.

I can see it work without the wingd, a small ones around their jetpacks, could be cool, I have to wait and see , lately they have been releasing lots of cool space marines, I doubt they would make them less cool

@@The_Foil They could look good but I've never been a total fan of primaris anyway. It has taken me years to warm up to the. So for me, sang guard without wings is an absolute deal breaker for me. Its all about recreating units and characters from the novels on the table top and if it doesn't match what I think they should look like then I'm just going to have to do it myself and I don't mind I love adding extra bits to models for me its part of the hobby but ill be very disappointed as I just feel GW isn't doing a proper job.

I feel like I’ve been hearing “whispers” of blood angels models for the past two years and all we’ve gotten is a new Dante and Mephiston model. I’ll believe it when I see it lol.

The wings thing... sucks. Time to hoard Sang Guard wings! Unit of three thing... I will get over. In lore, a USUAL deployment for them would be in pairs to guard a captain. There's only meant to be 20-25 at any one one time. Always felt weird having 20-25% of all the Blood Angels' sanguinary guard in my tiny battle. I also hated when people took 30 Sang Guard, like that's more than actually exist.

No wings would be a massive self-own by GW. That would be like selling World Eaters without bare arms or like Night Lords without bat helmets.
So the primaris sang guards will have the same kind design as primaris Dante with small wing designs on the flaps.
Valrak the type of guy who sees something to progress the plot and says: "You chaperinos are gonna wanna see this."
Valrak talking about flaps first thing in the morning isn't how I expected my week to start but here we are 💀
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they lose their wings, squad size becomes 3-6 and they keep their current points and datasheet. Good thing I have 25 fully painted already.
I can imagine there being some technical/posing reason for not having dynamic wings, but it is an excuse I don't accept. They are charging a premium for their models, and there's no reason they couldn't make dynamically sculpted and posed SG models with wings. Especially if the lower model count is true, they don't even have the excuse of "space in the box" to fall back on.
If I decide to purchase GW's SG, I'm definitely printing them some wings.
Actual feed back is always a bold thing to ask from us blood angels fan as apparently gw wants us to larp for a hobby rather than just enjoying our suffering boys in red because I have heard around several tables how gw will probably shrink the guard size to six max and I always said that it’s stupid because their is only 30 total and max squad size is 3 so it is just rule of cool how I could bring them all to bear but I guess I will have to just never be able to use 12 of my models ever again unless some how they become battle line

Other than the fact they will cost $20+ each, i kinda like the idea of sanguinary guard going to 3 models, as long as they remain the hardest hitting melee unit in loyalist space marines, and the pts cost isnt so overpriced.
I also feel like they should be more durable if we are only getting 3. Like a 4+ invuln or something. They need to be at least as durable as 5 van vets with storm shields and a priest.
No news about a future Sanguinor? I ask because there was no mention of him in the video. Also, Sanguinary Guards loosing their wings is heresy. It means they're gonna have the same little wing flaps than Dante model has (sculpted with wings).
Sang guard loosing their wings is legitimately devastating if true, that is THE big defining feature of their look, almost nothing else they could do to the models would make up for the lose of that distinctive look.
It would be a smack in the face also after seeing how closely they followed the artwork to make primaris versions of the Dark Angels stuff. If this is true they need to get bent. Whoever came up with the idea of making them a 3 man squad and with No wings is literally worse than hitler.
Honestly if that Is the case I'd be happy to use my og sang guard
sadly, that seems very likely. Seems like an easy way to just sell you less plastic for more money, and less work for their modeling department.
I would argue that the big defining feature is that they have ornate golden armour. Very sleek compared to Custodes.
If this is true I suspect we'll see many customized versions from fans that have wings. The fans will fix what the corpos destroy

The lack of rumours around any new Seth model saddens me
I can see them bring cut down to 3-6 it's been the same for honour guard type models, Bladeguard, Inner Circle etc.
Is it ideal? No. Is it what I want? No. But does it fit the theme? Yes. Frankly I could see Wolf Guard go the same when they get the Primaris treatment.
Sg are the deadlist marines unit alive.
They are captains as bodyguards, with 500+ years of experience. they should do a lot of for 3 man squad

@BloodyArchangelus yeah shrinking content of boxes doesn't surprise me. I mean early 10th rumours had Terminators as units of 3.
This squad size change with the Sang Guard feels like when they got rid of the 5 DA Company Veterans and replaced them with 3 Inner Circle Companions. Hopefully they'll be as useful as Inceptors.
Wings engraved on the flaps are exactly like Dante have, I always found it weird that Sanguinary Guards had wings and Dante didn't. Guess they are going for a more uniform look. Also I can't be the only one that lost their temper glueing those wings on haha 😂
I personally doubt the combat patrol being true since for the most part all combat patrols are supposed to be usable by any chapter (ie. a blood Angel player being able to pick up a dark Angel patrol box) so I don’t think it will include any units from their specific codex. A unique sculpt for a core unit isnt out of the question though like the unique lieutenant sculpt from the space wolves box.
Also i REALLY hope they don’t lose the wings, it’s such an iconic aspect of their kit and how the SG are going for a whole “literal Angel” vibe.
But in regard to the release date, I think releasing closer to Christmas would be kind of fitting with Sanguinala.
Im curiously waiting for a second half of the year roadmap. I guess theyll reveal it once the mystery codex is released and hopefully its during the same event so the buzz can be even larger for a July reveal show that should be be pretty stacked. Blood Angels Im assuming will be mid-fall release, probably October. Would be a bit overkill to have their mini range refresh occur anywhere near the mystery codex next month. Probably will get minimum 2 more codex releases with a single model before Blood Angels get their goodies
If they do drag out the BA's until Oct/Nov time, and then wait until Feb/March to give the 'general release', it'll be the final nail in the coffin of everyone getting an update before 11th edition...
We still have 17 codices to release, including the Agents + Emp's Children
My guess is that Chaos will get screwed like always and DG, 1kSons & WE's will get completely shafted.
Could also see it being both Knight armies + Daemons being the ones left out in the cold instead.
Can't wait to buy old Sanguinary Guard Models and also the Primaris ones. I saw someone that painted a marble crimson Pauldrons. That was badass and will try to replicate it someday ❤

Please don't tell me that we are getting a Daeanatos model. That "New Captain" description fits well with him. Could be Karlaen as well, but uses terminator armour most of the time. What seems to be sure is that this model will replace Tycho, at long last!

I don't mind the supposed changes to the Sanguinary Guard. Given Dante's Primaris refresh, it'd only be natural for Primaris Sanguinary Guard to match. Now, kitbashing isn't out of the question to make them more flashy, but I want to see how they look in Primaris scale. As for the squad size being cut down to three, I'm a little meh on; Seems like all the fun units are being made into three man teams (ie Aggressors). I'd still buy two boxes of Sanguinor Guard to run the old five man set up and use the sixth model to test any kitbashing ideas.
As for the new boxes, it's about time some more BA characters got their Primaris refresh. Plus, it will be neat to have proper DC Jumpers, though I still dig my minor kitbashes.

The Corteaz model should look great. Plus, it's in plastic. RumorRak is must see TV. This Chapter Master makes lies sound juicier than the Imperial Truth. To GW, 3 is the new 5. There's no way profits have anything to do for that. ( Yeah, Right!) ❤❤😊😊😊

The halberd weapon for sanguinary guard sounds to me like glaive encarmine that was mentioned in deathwatch TTRPG
Glave encarmine was the original name for the swords when they came out in 5th edition. Evidently the writer didn't know what a glaive was.

As a son of the Lion I must say that if they don’t release a new Dante model in the Blood Angels refresh at some point they need their heads read. I mean he is one of the oldest space marines alive, he is one of the most respected space marines, hell he has the respect of the two returned primarchs, who treat him almost like a brother primarch. He doesn’t need to be upgraded to primaris but he needs a new model, one that gives him a sense of awe on seeing it.
Dude, he got a new model at the same time as Azrael and the Lion. Dante's model is quite literally the newest chapter master model available in the game right now

3 Sanguinary Guard per box... Just no. GW need to manufacture more to satiate the appetite of their customers, not sell less for more than what is already a ridiculous sum.

@@vagabondht5791 Which are a welcomed addition to a model that had no detail before but would be a massive downgrade on Sanguinary guard which famously use Heresy era Jump packs with sculpted wings as stabilizers. It's not tactical sure but being artsy fartsy is also a known trait of the Blood Angels. They SHOULD get a more intricate artificer variant of standard issue gear because they are literal artists and craftsmen while not fighting

I'm unsure if the rumours about the new captain being in the combat patrol are true. Because that's breaking the pattern massively of new models being in the battleforce and not the combat patrol. Unless it's just because its such a large refresh?
