    I love it, but NOTE: THE FULL LIGHT BLOCKER WILL KILL FACE TRACKING. it collects your sweat and dumps it directly into the headset where it fries the face tracking hardware

    So here's the thing... I currently have an Index with FBT and I *purely* want a decent solution for face and eye tracking in a VR headset for VRChat. It'd be nice to just plop an eye and face tracker onto my Index for a fraction of the cost of a Quest Pro, but it doesn't look like there are any good options that don't involve a bunch of jank 3D printed mounts.
    If *all I wanted* was face and eye tracking that didn't require unofficial modifications, would you say the Quest Pro is worth it for that?

    • @ColdLightVR
      @ColdLightVR  Год назад +2

      Yes. The HTC facial tracker is also a good option and will save you some money, but yeah, 3D printed mounts and no eye tracking. For face and eye tracking in vr chat on pc youll need to mod vr chat. I plan on doing this soon to film more content with a virtual body. Things to consider would be how updates will effect the mod and how frequently youll have to reinstall the mod to accommodate those updates. But from other youtubers ive seen the face and eye tracking with the Qpro in vr chat is perfect for creating a more intimate/unique appearance. Just be prepared for a bit of a set up since vrchat doesnt have native support for the pc version at the moment. Aside from face and eye tracking the Qpro is a great upgrade from an index. Ive seen used Qpros for around the 700 dollar range on ebay, which in my opinion, is a steal for pcvr

      @@ColdLightVR Gotcha, thanks for the response! I'm prepared to work through all the nitty gritty to get face and eye tracking set up for PC, and I've got an avatar that supports it, I just need hardware that can do both and it's looking like the Qpro is the way to go.
      I appreciate the advice!

      @@JamieVatarga I got the quest pro and have been using it, the face tracking is great! got it used on ebay for 500 bucks although you need a third party comfort mod like a globular cluster or something cause it puts so much weight on your forhead.

    Is there anything with similar features of Quest Pro but better? Not talking about Quest 3 because Quest 3 does not have Eye tracking feature or facial tracking features which I really want.

    I see you are using the full light blocker. Can you recommend it over the side blockers? I know its overpriced and blocks the face tracking, but is it actually useful?

    • @ColdLightVR
      @ColdLightVR  9 месяцев назад

      Absolutely. The side blockers are a compromise for the sake of face tracking, but there are very little applications that actually use it. At the end of the day it’s a vr headset that was built to be able to swiftly transition to an ar headset. With AR that light bleed only serves to improve your immersion. But in anything but very fast paced games that light bleed will shatter your immersion. It’s pretty aggressive even with the partial blockers

    • @treschlet
      @treschlet 4 месяца назад +2

      CAREFUL: the full light blocker has a high chance to destroy the face tracking. If you sweat from the face, it collects all that sweat and dumps it directly into the headset, where it will fry the face tracking hardware

    I bought a Quest pro 4 days before the Quest 3 comes out because I'm a menace to myself. I mostly like it apart from the absolute headache I get 0.1 seconds after tightening the headvice.

    • @ColdLightVR
      @ColdLightVR  Год назад

      lmao, I feel that. Id recommend getting a 3rd party headstrap. I use one that connects the front of the headset to the back. Helps take the weight off your forehead. The one I have is the Gobular Cluster strap. it also comes with replacement pads that are a bit thicker.

    • @Sam-gf1eb
      @Sam-gf1eb 9 месяцев назад

      @Rempai420 As was already said, a strap (either from front to back or side to side) helps to take the weight off of the forhead. If you've tried one way and it didn't help, try the other way.

    • @treschlet
      @treschlet 4 месяца назад +1

      One thing to note: the forehead pad is not supposed to go against your forehead so much as sit halfway on top of it. It's supposed to rest on the "point" of your forehead, which helps hold it up. It requires very little tightening then, to keep it in place.
      Now, your gead might be a different shape than mine, but I found it extremely comfortable even without a top strap. Though, I do have a fairly pronounced forehead ... crown? point? So my head might be optimal for the fit. But give it a shot and see how it feels.
      lift it up and let it kinda set down on the top of your forehead and then give a slight snug, hopefully that helps

    £1500 would have been worth it for pc games if it had universal Dynamic Foveated Rending in because you wouldn't need to upgrade your graphics card just for VR.
