How to Make Small Speakers for Desktop and Home Theater Surround

- First off, bought these cheap ready-made 2-way crossover from an online flea-market where everything's made in China. The build quality is high, I can tell by the quality of the capacitors in it. Wanted to get the exact values so I measured and calculated them using Dayton DATS v3 by running a few impedance sweep. Crossovers were factory tuned to cross at 2000Hz 12dB @ 8 Ohms for the woofer and just about 3000Hz 12dB @ 8 Ohms for the tweeter which values are about perfect for my locally purchased speakers.
Then what follows next is the whole nine yards of speaker enclosure making. I wanted to copy a very popular desktop PC speakers so I did copied the design of an Audioengine A2. But these are gonna be sealed type enclosure and to be stuffed with a pound of polyfiber filling. So no vent openings found on front of the speakers.
It took me about 3 weeks to complete all these 2 pairs of desktop speakers and I hope you like how these turn out as much as I do. And hope to see you in the next upload for the test video. So please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and perhaps hit that LIKE button and by sharing the video will make the whole world sound a little better. Thanks very much!

what software do you use? thanks.
Love that you vacuum after drilling. Top notch attention to detail and craftsmanship. I'm in awe.
This man definitely know what he is doing. The speaker looks so nice.
You just can't go wrong with sealed enclosure. It's the easiest and safest way (performance wise) to build speakers.
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking that there is little or no significance when I port these tiny desktop speakers so I ended up sealing them. 😎
Looks better than factory built! Great project. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
🌞😎👍
Yes sir, a professional, I was surprised by the components and by the component test looking for the maximum sound fidelity for their performance.
😎🥰🥳
Awesome! Love the build quality. Gotta make my own speakers someday.
🧨🧯😎👍
So far the best video in RUclips for making speaker ,with software demo, thumbs up,very professional way

Beautiful work - on both the speakers as well as the presentation.
Well done young man - you have some serious skills.
Thank you for sharing this.
I wonder how many others, like myself, feel as thought they can build these speakers after watching your video.
Again - well done.
Many thanks for such inspiring feedback. 😇
Better to fit x-overs to back panel with screws. Otherwise, very professional look.
#wow

Nice, I am glad to see someone still uses insulation, except you just stuffed it in the box in the back, one of the main reasons for insulation is to cause the sound to move in ONLY one direction (which should almost always be parallel to the speaker resonance) so the best way to stuff a box is to put the insulation around the speaker / around the edges of the box, all you did is cause the sound to be muffled front to back and echo like crazy side to side. p.s. a little insulation should go behind the speaker magnet, but it should be at least twice the density and much smaller (like close to the diameter of the speaker)
Also, home speakers are mostly 8 ohm and desktop speakers are 4 ohm, so if you hook up a 4 ohm speaker to an 8 ohm amplifier eventually the speaker voice coil wire will short out and then your amp will too, conversely, if you use an 8 ohm speaker on a 4 ohm amplifier, your speakers will be fine, but your amp will blow. remember you get about twice the volume of a 4 ohm speaker hooked up with an 8 ohm amp and half the volume out of 8 ohm speaker hooked up to a 4 ohm amp.
Obviously if you are going for a high-powered amplifier who want high resistance speakers, like 8 or even 16 ( I have two!) anyway, working at Harmon and Kardon for years and also being taught my my uncle, I have some helpful knowledge about speakers, amps and the dynamics of sound due to the many system I have built. my first sub-woofer was a 15" long throw dual voice coil speaker with an sealed box I built out of one inch particle board; not ported (bass-reflection technology) , not acoustic (only running 80 watts) but sealed up, please dont ever make a band-pass box unless you know your porting, have a 1 or 2 ohm speaker load and a very small out put of wattage, (and in a small room).
Thanks for the feedback. :)
@@chrclmnky FeedBack! I get it now, LOL
why did you use those countersunk screws on the terminal and not those hex bolts you have used for the speakers? Your paint job could do with a lot more filling to make the finish much more perfect :D
Back panel doesn't have to be the best side of the project. Unless it's a woman. You know what I'm sayin'?
It's easy if you know what your doing.. Haven't a clue when it comes to Electronics.. That's why I'm watching the Video 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks bro
wow man, it looks just like Audio engine A2+ speakers. great job
Yes i did copy them 🤭. Thanks
you can make a flat subwoofer
flat?
So satisfying! You did a great job! From audiophile to audiophile 💯👌👏
Manu thanks 😎
Final result are very well, professional speakers....

good clean build.
if I can suggest, put black fabric cover with magnets, would be nice addition.
Nice job, I would recommend adding a bass reflex for loud deep bass.
Thanks. Yes that was my first plan but got lazy. 😅
It was just perfect. I really liked the finish.😃👍🏻
Yes sir 😎😎
Grabi yung quality 🔥 tsaka ang pagkakagawa. Subbed
Thanks 😎💡
Meron po kayo vid about sa paggawa ng box about sa mcv or sa mga hard kick na bass? :
Ang lupeeeeet na naman ng build na yan ah kuya..
I would use a vacuum also if I made these professionally. Cool and clean 👍
Great idea!
Hey bro...
Very professional working skills...
Oh thanks for the feedback. 😊
Ganda sir,,,panalong panalo yan sa home theater,,movie marathon nanaman sir,,hehe
Thanks very much po sir.
Nice craftsmanship and technique. You have a wide selection of tools and the knowledge of their use. This makes me want to make some speakers myself. Liked and subscribed.
Many thanks! 😎
Отличная работа! Пять лайков за правильную установку динамика! Немного портит картину кроссовер с катушками на железе (только воздух!), но за покраску и общее исполнение - пятак, однозначно!
Thanks for the feedback.
Beautiful craftsmanship....
Thanks very much Vimal
As Ramses electronic audio and video systems, we will be happy to see you among us.

@@chrclmnky Happy New year to you sir.
hi.Ike Heredia is glad to see your new work. It looks very beautiful, and I'm glad to hear you used some Chinese cross-border accessories, which means I can also buy him at taobao.com or aliexpress.com at a more suitable price. Because I saw you copied the design of "Audioengine A2" but deleted the front slot. I suddenly thought that if I could still keep the front slot, the fake slot and not communicate with the inside of the box. The reproduction is more realistic and does not affect the structure of the cabinet itself. Suddenly I had an idea. Maybe I can use it in the speaker I want to do. The surface makes him look beautiful.
Hello friend, thanks for the never ending support. Yes the cheap crossover work very well.
superb build quality!!!
thanks for the feedback.
What a ART SIR :) Amazing Neat & Clean Work
Thanks very much Abhishek
Thank you so much for the video sir. Do you have any videos for simpletons like me? 🙈😁👍🏽
Hello, check out my other videos on my channel. Basic projects for simpletons like us.
😁😁
अपने पास इतने औज़ार और setup थोड़ी ही होगा
हम लोग तो बस देख ही सकते हैं 😌😌
Nice build. Just a sugestion, the tweeter should be recessed, not the woofer. This is to align the tweeter diaphragm/cone with the woofer's
Ok, thanks

Nice but even in the very smal size you could make them bass reflex. May be with an event on the rear.

Couple questions, You glued the crossovers directly to the box? I didn't see that coming. and no baffling? hmmm? ok.
Getting close to the end. I'm going to be a little disappointed if he doesn't test these. oh, no, burn. ouch.
They look great.
Hey Alice, thanks for dropping by. Yeah glued them inside the box because I forgot to drill pilot holes to screw them down.
Will upload the test video soon.
