Today is the day when I get to explore the sacred and historic city of Anuradhapura. The history of this place goes way back to the 3rd century AD. I tried my best to interpret the history to fathom why Anuradhapura became one of Sri Lanka's important cities.

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and RUclips creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on RUclips, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on RUclips.
Anurapura is 🌎 world heritage 🇱🇰 🙏 welcome to 🇱🇰
The worlds first recorded hospital for not only humans but also another hospital for animals is in Anuradhapura
Your Sri Lankan traveling every video very very useful.. Anuradhapura "Buddham sharanam gacchhaami"peaceful place.. 👍👍
It's so lovely to see you showing and telling a lot about Buddhism😍. As a Pakistani, we don't know anything much about the religion except for wrong information spread through hatred. And your video is a good thing not only about information but your vlogging style and showing places. Keep it up. And hope to see more😃☺❤🙌🙌
. May all bei ngs be happy
Im buddism and im proud to say that and proud to be a srilankan 🇱🇰 💪
Your research before visiting is always appreciated. It makes a huge difference to the video and we get to learn something interesting. :D

Buddhists are not killers.
@@d4rkmatrix yeah they are
@@physics5896 its against buddhism teaching and precepts. Blame on the person and not on the religion. A rohingya bombed bodh gaya (Buddhism mecca in 2013 ) . Does it mean Islam is bad? ofcourse not.
@@silingbiling i guess i know sri lanka more than you. Do you need prove that how your rural areas sri lankas are.
Why do people draw upon the negatives when videos of religious Icons and sites with historical value are presented in a beautiful light? What happens in Myanmar and other countries around the globe belongs to those countries. Keep it in perspective! There is no need to trash religion. Learn and appreciate the beauty of history being presented.

The buddhist flag was designed in Sri Lanka during the British rule & later was recognized as international buddhist flag.

Finally.. I am seeing a dedicated vlog for "Anuradhapura"
You are doing impressive in history lessons..
This place is rich in history.. most of the foreigners dont aware of it.
It’s the ticket prizes which keeps them away. I don’t think it’s the correct thing to do, charge money from foreigners for religious places.
The tooth relic is an important relic that decided the royal line of SriLankan history. It was a belief among SriLankan citizens that you should protect the tooth relic inorder to claim the crown. So it was moved around a lot around SriLanka with the main kingdoms to keep it closer with the king. This tooth relic caused clashes between clans of india and SL kings. Therefore it was provided with the maximum security. I reccomend you to read about the history of tooth relic because I find it very interesting. Thank you again for doing this amazing imforative v log.
in ancient Sri Lanka, the king had the responsibility on protecting the sacred tooth relic and even in present the president has the responsibility...that's why the ruins of ancient dalada maligawa can be seen in anuradapura
Yes, this is our motherland. Peaceful people living there. Temple is very important place to us. It is mind relax place for us. Thank you for doing this about my country. That smile of people is real. 😊
i think you feel the hospitality of sri lankans. Thank you again.. cool video..

Thank you Syifa, as you took me to the very sacred and historical site of Buddhist world. I think, you have narrated the historical backgrounds of the Anuradhapura very impressively well. Hatsoff for that.
There was 8 main kingdoms kn sri lanka and each of them had a temple of tooth
Because tooth relic is considered sacred and a symbol of power so it was necessary
Not 8 it should correct as 10.
Hats off to your effort in trying to pronounce d names of stupas

I love the way you talk with respect to local culture and about people. Good work!
That Dageba wasn't cut off. It has fallen off and you can't rebuild cus whenever you try to it falls back. Thank you for coming to Sri Lanka Syifa ❤

I've seen quite a few vlogger videos around Sri Lanka, and what stands out to me about your videos is your editing work. Music, transitions and comparisons. Very impressive, thanks for being so informative.
Amazing video!! Great job presenting all the facts about different Buddhist locations. Thanks for showing your viewers about Buddhism in the island.
Anuradhapura is definitely a city to visit. A rich culture lies within its vast city with an interesting history behind it. You should read more about the history of Anuradhapura. It will amaze you. Good selection also... This is a city I need to visit as well. Hopefully in 2021.

There are other travel vlogs specially from male vloggers and they show some bikini girls in beach and party life/night life. But you research/dig the data and share the knowledges , feels like learning while watching your videos.
Ironically, those man vlogger have million views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers and i feel unfair for you.

Greetings from Montréal Canada thank you for another very educational video on Sri Lanka history I have many friends here. Stay safe and healthy ... enjoy your stay

Your video's are becoming better and better each time I see a new one, up to the level that countries should pay you for the work you do to promote them. I like the beautiful images, the nice music and the story you are telling and it makes me want to go there. You can be very proud of that. Keep up the good (no: great!) work and the beautiful smile, safe travels!
Greeting from Thailand. It's a really nice VDO. Love it. It makes me miss good old days I had while travelling in Sri Lanka many years ago. Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning Syifa! Yes this is a Monday breakfast treat shared with you. Your wisdom is enjoyable to follow as you live and learn through your travels and tours. The World is filled with much richness, especially when people "get over themselves" and behave as people lol. Must also be so sunny and warm where you are too. Here I am about to head out for the day into what is still a cold, dark, windy, and snowing morning. Please have a wonderful day too! -Bob...
Have a safe journey.

the eight elements of the noble eightfold path are:
1) correct view, an accurate understanding of the nature of things, specifically the Four Noble Truths,
2) correct intention, avoiding thoughts of attachment, hatred, and harmful intent,
3) correct speech, refraining from verbal misdeeds such as lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and senseless speech,
4) correct action, refraining from physical misdeeds such as killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct,
5) correct livelihood, avoiding trades that directly or indirectly harm others, such as selling slaves, weapons, animals for slaughter, intoxicants, or poisons
6) correct effort, abandoning negative states of mind that have already arisen, preventing negative states that have yet to arise, and sustaining positive states that have already arisen,
7) correct mindfulness, awareness of body, feelings, thought, and phenomena (the constituents of the existing world),
8) correct concentration, single-mindedness.
