This is not medical advice. The content is intended as educational content for health care professionals and students. If you are a patient, seek care of a health care professional. The elbow valgus instability stress test assesses for integrity or laxity of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of the elbow joint. The mechanism is similar to the test used for the knee joint.

Thank you
is there is any physio exercise for correcting cubitus valgus....
Hi Rishabh, not that we no of any - sorry!
Thank you my bro
According to AAFP the moving valgus stress test has 100% sensitivity and 75% specificity in diagnosing ulnar collateral ligament injuries.
What's the source, which article?
There is a systemic review by Zwerus et al. (2017) who reference O'Driscoll and they found a sensitivity of 65% and specs of 50% for pain and 19% sens/100% specs for laxity.
Think the test that you mean is the moving valgus stress test, because this one indeed has those sens+spec values.
Thank you so much
So, i have valgus elbow, what shoild I do?
can you please tell me that which physical therapy treatment is given in increased carrying angle/ cubitus valgus?
go see an actual PT LMAO
if u do it with pronated forearm it will be more specific cuz you will taut the UCL
Agreed!

I'm confused. Wouldn't a lateral or abducting the forearm be a varus force? I thought varus was when the extremity below the joint moved laterally. Please help me understand this better. Thanks. CP
Hey Cathy, it´s exactly the other way round: = varus and >< = valgus.
Hello dr,
I declared medically unfit due to cubitus vagus on both side(20 deg) can I reduced it by exercise
You won’t reduce your anatomical valgus with exercise
No Varus
👍👍👍
