For sure man, I want people to feel good. and shit even if they don’t at least take steps to get there. Too easy to fall into that black hole out there but if we tackle life head on we can make it
Thanks for taking the time to explain your thoughts on the Losi RTR , yes those are definitely upgraded you need but line you said it’s getting hard to find parts for it , I had the motor mounts for backplate engines but I gave them away and now I can’t find them anywhere, I’m now getting into the truggy’s and buggy’s but just for ripping and bashing
Bro that’s crazy, you can’t even get team engine mounts anymore? That’s wild. People are gonna start having to drill out their chassis and use different mounts. It’s kind of sad to me that every company literally offers 1 or 2 nitros, but 73 different electric options. Parts support needs to improve, but why would the companies do that when the nitro people are the small sliver of the pie overall? Sad man
People underestimate this truggy. I have been running this thing on and off for over ten years. This is way tougher then you would think. I have bashed the hell out of this thing. Flips, somersaults, you name it. Nose dive after nose dive. Not one thing broke. The only thing that makes it not race worthy is the servos, suspension and a few other things. But as far as not being tough enough, you couldn’t be more wrong. I remember horizon hobby promising this truggy to be upgradable. That was for a very short time. This truggy hasn’t really been upgradable in years. Not near as easy to get parts for anymore.
Thank you for the feedback first of all. I do appreciate it..To clarify, I love this platform and it was my introduction back into the nitro hobby. It is indeed durable as heck, mine has 6 gallons on the chassis and arms at this point. Nothing ever failed on me. But, as you mentioned, shocks could use improvement, which I also mentioned. I mentioned weak servos, which…you mentioned as well. I mentioned small odds and ends, referring to turnbuckles and such. You just mentioned that. This version of this platform has not been out since 2013, so if your platform is 10 years old, you have a losi 8ight T RTR from the 2.0 era, which had vastly better radio gear, shocks, turnbuckles, and diffs then my particular model, which came out in 2017-or 2018 I believe. The only things I added to the conversation was diffs, and shock towers. Also, I mentioned upgrades and parts are getting hard to find for this platform, just like you mentioned it as well. Most upgrades are available on eBay, just not necessarily anywhere else which is a Problem on Horizon Hobby’s part. ,Maybe I could have made the title of the video different, Useful upgrades perhaps instead of MUST have upgrades. Because otherwise it seems we agree on every single point, therefore my difference in opinion does not make me vastly wrong in the slightest. We all have different opinions. This is friendly conversation by the way and I appreciate the feedback. Take care.
Brother thanks a bunch for checking it out! More content to come, want to start posting running vids again, show more items, and give advice. So more content to come! Appreciate you
@@jeremywilliamsrc8797 Its a great engine. I have the first gen version. My favorite engine is the 721 Pro Limited edition that I still have new in the box, other than Adam Drake doing his oil bath break in service.
Besides changing parts out to my liking as upgrades, only parts I ever had to change was clutchbell bearings. Never bashed this thing like crazy I’ll admit, but put over 7 gallons on this platform running on street and grass with No breakages of stock parts. Some people have diff problems, I changed mine out proactively, and because I wanted to, but no broken factory diffs for me either. Loved this platform
Cool. I'm asking because I just got one as my first Nitro. Got a good deal on it brand new. When it arrived it was alot larger than expected. But I want to learn tuning this one before I buy another Nitro. ( A much smaller one)
@@robertshelton2605 oh I see. Yeah, I guess that would be surprising to receive an 1/8th scale truggy, expecting something small perhaps. What other nitro’s are you curious about getting? Here to help if you have any questions at all!
Why the hell didn’t you just by the kit?? All the stuff you’re upgrading comes in kit version. Then you get to choose whatever motor and pipe you want. Then pick out your servos and you would’ve been all set. That’s how these companies sucker people in with the rtr’s they make it cheap enough for people to buy then they go nuts upgrading stuff. BUY THE KIT it will save you in the long run.
I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to spread the word on being confident and all there’s a lot of people that need to hear it

Loving the Reds 5R5! Switched that engine out for the 721 SV thats in it right now!
Man that’s my dream engine right there. They just came out with a gen 4 scuderia, I assume the SV won’t be far behind. Thank you for tuning in!

Did you ever break anything stock on the truck?
