Awesome video! I love my LST and agree that restoring and old rc is unlike buying any new rc! Currently I have bought a tmaxx for a gift to my cousin and it’s now a nightmare! I bought it on eBay for 300 which was a mistake as engine was trashed. Ring gears were trashed and every bolt was stripped! Transmission is okay but I expected alot better. Main lesson is people like to lie about what they have.

I totally understand that! I look at old used Traxxas Revo all the time, and I never bite the bullet because of what you just said above. All of my Traxxas nitros I owned were always awesome and I enjoyed every single of of them over the years. And you are correct, unfortunately not everyone is honest about the condition of their vehicles, and that’s just sad to do that to make a quick buck. Be honest, be open and transparent about issues, then sell your stuff! That’s a shame about the t-Maxx but it sounds like you got it down and will get it working! Good luck

Great post, man. You couldn't put this any better. I currently have 4 lst lst2 trucks. I have gathered tons of extra stuff for them. You score a fuel tank or titanium gears and see the original price on them and realize how much this stuff has been marked up with the i need it now price.

It’s crazy. You can definitely find deals and that’s great, but I personally think the market has gotten out of hand. If I had multiples of these parts, I would undercut everyone and just sell them for some extra cash, while not price gouging a ton of people out of the hobby. Idk man, took tired to think right now but dang I’m glad I’m stocked for life on all my platforms thus far, besides the nitro 4 tec and I still found semi important consumables for that too. Thanks for the insights!

@jeremywilliamsrc8797 I agree with you 100%. I feel like the way its going you easily $1000.00 into a nice lst.

You brought up some good points for sure! I’m about $300 into my LST restoration now, and still haven’t gotten a new engine, exhaust, servos, body, paint, and other little things. But, I absolutely do not regret spending the money. It’s coming along great! Yours looks great too btw. I bought it new back in ‘07, sold it in ‘12, and actually got it back this year! I’ll post a video when it’s done!

That’s awesome man! I’m sure dollar for dollar, our builds will be almost equivalent $ wise. It definitely gets up there but once it’s complete, it’s so worth it. What engine and exhaust, servos, etc are you planning to run? That’s awesome you got your old truck back, funny how things usually go full circle. Looking forward to a video, thank you for tuning in.

@@jeremywilliamsrc8797 Yeah I’m stoked I got it back. It still had the old HPI K4.6engine on it that came with my Savage SS kit, but I’m not doing anything with it. So I’m gonna get either an LRP.28, or an LRP.32. I’m leaning more towards the .28. Not sure which exhaust yet. I’ll be ordering a 35kg servo for the throttle. The steering servos are still the same as when I sold it, dual Hitec 645mg. I may swap those out for two 45kg servos; not sure if they even work. I have a brand new set of Hot Bodies fireball tires to put on it too. Can’t wait! All said and done, I’ll probably have $600 wrapped up in it. I’m totally fine with that! It’s lookin great so far!

@@Nitrotrician81 that’s awesome man! Great choice for engines, if you’re talking about the ZR. 28’s, I heard those were great. People love the . 32’s, especially with a carb swap. Awesome choice on the strength of your servos, I looked into replacing my stock JR ones that still work fine, but I heard it’s a real pain to find servos that fit properly, not to mention servo horns, proper servo dimensions, etc. Seemed overwhelming at the time but I’m confident I could aftermarket ones to work and perform correctly at this point. And nice freaking tires dude, super rare at this point. I have a brand new set of Dynamite Nutralizer Speedtread 20mm hex wheel and tire combo that I got for like 20$, haven’t even taken them out of the box but I’ll throw them on eventually. Can’t wait to see and hear more about the build.

@@jeremywilliamsrc8797 I don’t remember the servo fit being an issue, if so, I’ll have to break out the Dremel! So, the LRP.32. You said people are doing carb swaps on them? I’m gonna have to check out the tires you have, sounds pretty mean. I collect the fireball tires, I have 4 complete sets, I half set. Most are barely used. I think they’ll look killer on it!

First of all, thank you for the add. Restoring my LST is one of the things in my Rc world I’m most proud of, and yes it’s definitely fun and worth it. Hope to have a Savage someday to add to the collection. Thanks again for tuning in bro

I think it's worth it, especially if it's a lst because you can actually find parts now when you're talking about certain brands like kyosho, ofna, and older exotic brands not so easy I have a ofna twin titan special edition and trust me not going to happen😅

    • @Robrismo-rc

But I love it, that's why I have traxxas tmaxx and keep those vintage mt as shelves queens. I do use them just to wake up their hearts every once in a blue moon

Thanks for the add first of all! And yeah I totally agree, man those ofna twin titans are straight impossible to find and the parts as well. People want 2000$ for them covered in grease and rust. Wild times. Totally agree with you, I’ve always been interest in older kyosho offerings but never pulled the trigger. Had an original 2.5 tmaxx myself, loved that freaking thing. Sadly let it go as a teenager. Gotta start my LST Soon, I miss using it. Thanks again for

There is not much choice in monster trucks that are new ,even if you spend 500 dollars on a lst2 your still getting a good truck
