What a great Maiden flew perfectly And anybody who's gone above 50 km in one of those has laminated the wings to make them stiffer but I think it's great as it is. Take care
I have the drift and love it. Only for calm days though. Landing is a little tricky. I drop throttle and do sharp turns to bleed off speed , then it just floats to the ground. Good luck.
Excellent video. I watched your last video on this. I put my fc in the right position, not upside down like yours, it fits quite nicely there if you leave the cables top the top compartment. Also, i made a all in one camera bracket type thing with balsa to put it right on top of the wing, in the gps slot, this way i dont need to use extra weight in the tail, it balances perfectly with both 2s 18650 and 2s 21700
Good idea with the camera, though I really wanted to keep it hidden and the nose was all I could think of but I was worried about the weight at 371g but flew surprisingly well. Thanks for watching glad you liked it.
Hi My F405Wing seems like having a problem The 4V5 socket and Ground has a value in my Multimeter (Continuity) Is it normal? I also test to check my Battery and Ground connection There is also a value I worry there is something wrong with my FC
@@Indonesia01ian Hi I am not entirely sure exactly what the issue is but I would assume that what you are seeing is normal as long as you have made no modifications to the board. Have you tried to contact speedybee they might be more helpful.
Would you recommend this FC and Camera for an Eflite Opterra? Getting it down is hardest part of flying the Drift, it's made to loiter, and does it well.
@@PiDsPagePrototypes I think the FC would work well on most planes but if going larger wingspan I would only recommend the 1s lite for tight builds like the drift. I would suggest the moonlight camera , avatar gt longer range or v2 pro best cameras although most expensive than the 1s lite.
@@stonesrcchannel The Opterra does have enough room for the larger version of the SpeedyBee F405 Wing, the Moonlight kit is on my list - I absolutely want clean onboard 4K recording to SD card. I have HD02's already, and the Walksnail VRx will clip on those, I don't need the high frame rate for what I want, duration and a quiet prop are more useful for me. Looks like a lot of retailers don't have the VRx + Moonlight kit in stock at the moment, but do have the VRx + 1s Lite, so I might end up with the 1s in the nose, and a Moonlight in a belly-turret style gimbal housing. Do you know if there a way to set one of the spare switches on the controller to adjust the video transmitters output level? 25mW is perfect for the local club flights, but there's some areas where the signal drops out, and it'd be great to be able to flick a switch and get higher power when needed.
@@PiDsPagePrototypes I have thought about that exact same setup for the VTX power but have not found anything just yet that suggests it can be done just yet. I don't see why it can't be setup to a switch or even set as dynamic power, a bit like elrs dynamic power works, that would be great.
Yes I now have it setup on 3s. Seemed a little unclear to me regarding the v1 and v2 as It seemed the v2 could run more than 5v but to avoid risking it I set it up on 5v to begin with which I have now changed. Thanks for confirming!
Dude.... cool project but that vtx is a rough choice. Those have no heat sink and almost no thermal mass to hysterese, so they overheat like crazy. I have two in HD whoop builds, and when working on the bench even with the vtx dangling in front of a fan it is borderline overheating. If I power up a quad with one, it overheats in under 2 min and that's exposed to air. In that enclosed space I expect some serious mid flight sudden video shutdown issues. They are a great piece of kit if you MUST use 1s batteries or if 10-20 grams is going to make a difference - like with tiny whoops. But in this use case for a few dollars more the 2s kit with a heat sink is vastly preferable.
It does overheat if left too long without airflow but once in the air it’s fine. I have flown many flights 20-30 mins without any issues so far. I was thinking overheating issues would be a thing during the build but so far have had none.
It confirms my opinion that HD is mostly useful for planes, when you want a nice broad view, not pixalated, but the fisheye effect is too prominent for me here
I have a w.s v2 in my drift I love it its on the nose worth a heating on it, I can go super far with goggles x.... I love my drifts I have both Black and white ones
Yeah totally surprised me how well it flies especially with the hi system and its overall weight on the heavy side. It may end up being my go to plane for everyday flying as it’s so portable.

That particular kit supports up to 13v, so up to 3s directly from vbat.

Don’t let the legalities get in the way of your flying. If you know that there’ll be no aircraft around then go enjoy your hobby.

TBH I agree the fisheye does bother me a bit too it's a shame it can't be compensated for in the Goggle X menu somehow to remove it.
