FlamerzZz ; I don't care what anyone else thinks about Hondas. I love Hondas that's why I have two of them three if I count the one that's sitting in the yard without a motor and transmission
It is already hard enough to try and out brake an FF honda, with a skilled driver behind the wheel it's damn near impossible. They're just too good and braking and cornering bc they're so light.
good defense and offense by both racers. even if the s14 would of taken the attack on the inside, the civic would of have the advantage on the 2nd and 3rd cornering giving jordan the inside. Very tough battle and hard to pass. Brilliant work guys.
You just have to get used to a drift style driving to drive these. I'm pretty sure Hendy may have been drifting too, in order to predict wheelspin to correct it without compromising current speed in a race like this.
@@OozoraKazuki an s14 thats set up for drifting (extended steering lock, camber, suspension setup, locked diff etc..) handles very different to the way a stock (or race) s14 handles. While S chassis's make decent drift cars, they are just as terrible to drift stock as anything else.
For those who want to know, the 200sx has a SR20VE non turbo engine making 220 whp. And from what I heard the Civic has a B20 v-tec making around 280hp crank, but i can’t verify that.
Correct. Cox made sure the rev limiter was reset, so he could keep the RPMs always up and therefore allow the four pounder to permanently take advantage of the valve timing (VTEC). Obviously he invested more into racing clutch and a very high strength transmission. Looking at the circuit and it's hills, semi racing flywheel is good enough, otherwise racing ultra lightweight flywheel could cause a loss in power delivery up those hills.

Does anyone know if that red Civic #111 has been modified with a rear wheel drive setup? I have seen footage of this car where I could swear the rear tire is PUSHING during a slide going through the corners in another video I watched recently.
eg hatch has more control, easier on corners, light, all around better than ep3 except for power, but power on this type of racing motor power it's not so much important 250-300hp it's more than enough, you need braking skills, suspension setup, tires, weight distribution, body specification, EG hatch far superior than EP3 for this type of racing.

Becusse the Honda is lighter and its FWD. The only way a RWD car can beat a FWD car in corners is if the FWD car isnt properly tuned and setup with the right suspension, tires, and wheels size. I know this from personal experience when I was on a sweeping left curve on the highway in my 4th gen Prelude on Tien Advanced Basis Z coilovers, and Federal 595 RS-R tires chasing a Dodge Charger R/T at 75+ mph. The Charger nearly lost control because it lost stability in mid corner because all of that power was going to the rear, but the entire time I was planted without a twitch in the world and pulled right up on his bumper as he was regaining control. I could've easily took that corner and held it at 85+ mph. My car wasnt even at 80% of its cornering ability, but I backed off because I didn't want him to lose total control at 75+ mph in traffic. So I'm a huge fan of properly tuned FWD cars because they are actually more stable and faster in the corners than RWD cars. With the right setup on a FWD car, understeer is virtually eliminated. The FWD stigma only holds weight when ur talking about a factory RWD vs a factory FWD car in the same class, but once the FWD is tuned and modified, all bets are off. Even against a Tuned and modified RWD car because at the end of the day a tuned RWD car will never be able to tackle a corner harder than a Tuned FWD front wheel car, because RWD cars will spin out or loose stability which in turn will cause them to loose speed in and out of the corner.
